Preservation Evoker Overview

Preservation Evoker is an extremely unique healing spec with unique resources — Mana and Essence — and a new type of spells called Empowered Casts that get stronger the longer you charge them. They are slow healers, but each spell has a huge impact. It’s also the only mid-range spec in the game that has a 25-yard range for all spells.

Here we have gathered some quick facts about Preservation Evoker in The War Within:

• Can use Daggers, Fist Weapons, Maces, Axes, Swords, and Staves.
• Mastery: Life-Binder increases healing while you have more health than your target. It’s a very unique mechanic among the healers.
• Lore: An ancient race created by Neltharion himself. You’ll use the power of all five dragonflights to burn enemies, heal allies, and dash around the battlefield.
• Resources: Mana and Essence (you get 5 charges, which recharge every 5 seconds).
• Damage Reduction: Obsidian Scales is a very decent personal save for 30% DR.
• Mobility: Hover, Verdant Embrace, Rescue, Deep Breath.

Preservation Evoker Strengths and Weaknesses

Preservation Evoker has high mobility, strong damage abilities, and a range of different spell combinations that can be tailored to suit whatever your healing needs are stumbled upon. • Just in Time: –10s Time Dilation cooldown + 1 extra charge.
• Delay Harm: Absorbs 15% of Time Dilation DoT damage.

Preservation Evoker Season 2 Changes

In WoW TWW Season 2 Preservation Evoker received minor talent updates, with no changes to specialization abilities. Additionally, a new Opulent Treasurescale’s Hoard tier set will become available with the release of the new Liberation of Undermine raid.

No abilities in the Preservation specialization were changed in Patch 11.1.

In Patch 11.1, Preservation Evoker received minor talent changes.

• Dream Breath — now heals yourself and 5 injured allies (was 5 injured allies).
• Spiritbloom — Divert spiritual energy, healing an ally for (610.2% of Spell power). Now Jumps to injured allies within 30 yds when empowered.

Preservation Evoker Hero Talents Changes

In Patch 11.1 Preservation Evoker received intriguing changes to Hero Talents.

Flameshaper:

• Conduit of Flame — Critical Strike chance increased to 15% (was 10%). Now correctly specifies that it increases critical strike chance above 50% health for Preservation.
• Engulf — cooldown is now reduced by Haste.
• Expanded Lungs — is now a choice talent against Enkindle.
• Traveling Flame — No longer increases Dream Breath or Fire Breath duration and spreads. Instead, reduces the cooldown of Fire Breath or Dream Breath by 5 seconds when you cast Engulf.
• New Talent: Fulminous Roar — Fire Breath and Dream Breath deal their damage and healing in 20% less time.
• Titanic Precision — no longer references Reversion critically striking for Preservation, as it cannot critically heal on application.

Preservation Evoker Changes in The War Within

In The War Within Preservation Evoker got some talent reshuffles. There were no drastic changes in gameplay but these changes felt like a lot of fresh air.

• First of all, the bottom of the Preservation talent tree was rearranged. Now we have easier access to the Stasis which gives us lots of build options.
• Secondly, Spatial Paradox moved to the Class Tree. This gives us and our team lots of movement and placement options during the encounters, fixing our range issue.
• Thirdly, Lifespark is added to the Preservation Talent Tree. It gives us more DPS in Mythic+.

And last but not least, a new feature was added. It’s called Warbands. With its help, you can transfer resources between your alts and share warbound gear. But first, you need to unlock Warband Bank to start using this feature. Our team can do this for you to save you time and allow you to start managing your resources without delay.

Preservation Evoker Hero Talents

Of course, we should tell you about the key new coming of the War Within expansion — Hero Talents, granting a brand new third WoW Preservation Evoker talent tree. Basics of Preservation Evoker Gameplay

Preservation Evoker’s basic mechanics are typical for a healer specialization. You need to use them reasonably. Unlike DPS classes you have no exact WoW Preservation Evoker rotation. Use all your set of abilities from the talent tree to adapt and overcome any situation you are in.

Preservation Evoker has two main types of abilities. The first type is your Empowered Spells, as long you channel them, the more they empower. The second type is your Essence Spenders, a unique resource like Rogues’ combo points.

Preservation Evoker Rotation

Preservation Evoker is a unique healer class specialization. Unlike the other healers, he cannot quickly change the situation on the battlefield. As a Preservation Evoker, you should have a plan for every bad situation your team can get into. Below we give you more explanation of what you should do.

First of all, you should understand, that your main healing abilities are:

• Spiritbloom: A powerful burst heal accompanied by a medium duration HoT;
• Verdant Embrace: Perfect if you need instant healing on your Echo targets, or if you’re preparing for a Lifebind combo;
• Dream Breath: Can be better than Spiritbloom when you’re dealing with longer duration rot damage;
• Reversion can be really good in rare situations. Better suitable for Mythic+.

Raid Preservation Evoker Rotation

1. Cast Dream Breath and Spiritbloom when you don’t have many echo buffs out and the raid has just taken damage or will take damage soon
2. When damage is coming in 8-15 seconds, cast Temporal Anomaly and as many Echo as you can afford
3. Cast Verdant Embrace or Spiritbloom when the damage goes off. Spiritbloom will be your most common choice.
4. Cast Fire Breath on cooldown at a high rank. We use a high rank because of the Leaping Flames talent. Fire Breath and your subsequent offensive Living Flame cast won’t consume any Echo buffs you have out so your timing on Fire Breath is very flexible

Mythic+ Preservation Evoker Rotation

1. Cast Temporal Anomaly → Reversion to cover light damage and to prepare for heavier hits. This will also proc a lot of Lifespark buffs which make your next Living Flame do substantially more damage and healing. Layering reversion across your party is a Mythic+ essential.
2. Cast Fire Breath on cooldown. Cast Living Flame either on enemies (default) or allies afterward.
3. Cast Rank 1 or Rank 2 Dream Breath whenever the party is lightly or moderately injured. Similarly to raid, combine it with Verdant Embrace where possible since it buffs the cast Call of Ysera. If damage is heavier, then cast Echo before your Dream Breath. That way you’ll get two Dream Breath buffs on your group.
4. Cast Rank 3/4 Spiritbloom if the party takes a big hit, or at Rank 1 if you need urgent tank healing.
5. Use Verdant Embrace as a key single target heal.
6. Use Reversion casts to top up anyone taking heavy single-target damage.
7. Spend downtime DPSing with Living Flame casts.
8. Use Rewind as a group-save. It’s quite powerful.

Note: This is the common list of your priorities. You should consider it as a list of tips. It is mostly up to you how to determine your gameplay on this character according to these tips. If you find yourself comfortable playing a slightly or completely different way, you should try it, but remember to simcraft your Evoker and check the HPS.

Specialization Skills

Here you can find a list of your basic abilities. But you should keep in mind that depending on your WoW Preservation Evoker build, the abilities that you use can be slightly different.

Preservation Evoker Talents

• Reversion — pretty interesting HoT ability. Every time it crits it prolongs its duration for 2 seconds. Try to use it on mates who will likely get damaged soon.
• Verdant Embrace — another unique spell in your arsenal. Fly to a target within a 25-yard range and heal it.
• Call of Ysera — a passive talent that gives you more synergy between the spells. Improves your opportunity to heal your teammates.
• Dream Flight — Your first strong cooldown. This ability will cause you to fly into the air and heal each of your allies in the lane in front of you. This heals a lot, but you need to line up the ability to hit everyone.
• Rewind — Your second strong cooldown. This ability allows your allies to be healed for 50% of the damage they took in the last 5 seconds.
• Tip the Scales — allows you to cast your Spiritbloom and Dream Breath instantly and at maximum Empowered Level. This can be used in a similar way to Rewind.
• Zephyr — allows you to reduce damage taken from AoE effects by 20% for your entire group. While not every mechanic can benefit from this damage reduction, using it in difficult AoE moments will make tough situations much more manageable.
• Time Dilation — can be used on yourself to reduce the damage you take and keep you alive in moments that would otherwise kill you.

Preservation Evoker Stats

WoW Preservation Evoker stats priority is pretty straightforward:

Preservation Evoker is a bit slow to level up. If you don’t mind a slower pace, you can take advantage of your strong self-healing ability and decent area of effect damage, pulling multiple mobs at once and destroying them with Fire Breath and Living Flame. Strong mobility talents such as Exuberance, Tailwind, and Extended Flight will allow you to quickly travel while farming mobs and quests.

But if you are interested in speed leveling, you can switch to Devastation for the leveling process. DPS specs usually level up faster due to their damaging abilities. Preservation Evoker Leveling Tips for The War Within

Evoker brings a ton of Crowd Control abilities. Make sure they are assigned to keys and used regularly. Tail Swipe, Wing Buffet, Quell, and even Azure Strike to slow down are key abilities that will greatly help you when leveling up.

Try to spend most of your global cooldowns on DPS. You can drop a Reversion or two, using Echo, between presses, and super-effective buttons like Verdant Embrace are great if you’ve been pulling a lot and running a little low. We also use Ancient Flame, so if you get into a really tough situation, you can spam cast Living Flame on yourself if your main buttons are on cooldown.

Be careful with elite mobs. We have a good chance of defeating them, you might want to take them one at a time rather than in large packs. Remember your powerful protective buttons if you need them like Obsidian Scales.

Enabling War Mode will give you an experience bonus. It can be risky and it’s easy to lose the experience gained by dying in PVP, but if you’re playing in a small group, it’s worth it. Completely optional.

Control Your Emerald Blossom

When playing a build that focuses on Emerald Blossom, players often make two mistakes. First, they don’t spend enough Essence, which means they are limiting the amount of Essence or not generating enough Essence. These builds are aimed at maximizing the total number of Emerald Blossom castings, and you want to do everything possible to achieve this.

You need to spend all your Essence and also use the Living Flame to generate more Essence Burst. The second mistake is that players are not careful when choosing a target. Choosing a ranged heal that far away means that your Emerald Blossom will not heal the maximum number of targets. You want to specifically focus your actions on groups of players. The best way to do this in spread-out situations is to position yourself in a good spot and then push yourself away or just choose to melee.

Positioning

Preservation Evoker has a unique cast range of 25-yard range on most of your arsenal. It means you should position yourself closer to the melee group than other healers. Playing Preservation Evoker demands players extra environment awareness skills.
