Everyone knows how each of the new expansions in WoW grants us opportunities to hone our skills and learn a lot of new features, enriching the player experience. The War Within is no exception. The Overgear team is always there to help players of any level stay tuned with the latest game mechanics, thus we can provide you with a Personal Coach to achieve the best results in any type of content.

Warbands

The War Within Expansion Overview

So, to begin with, we finally get a chance to make our alternate characters just as cool as our mains. It is all possible now with The War Within Warbands.

Warbands are basically the system of arranging a family of characters sharing currency, reputation, transmog, and achievements across characters.  Therefore, now players can enjoy account-wide progression, and characters of both factions — Horde and Alliance — can share their game progress.

What else do we get with the Warbands?

  • Transferable currencies with conversion rates. It means, that you can transfer all the desired currency between characters. It counts not only the latest currencies (Dragonflight and The War Within), but also the earlier expansions. You can also check the conversion rate for each transferable currency below.

  • Account-wide reputation. All the points of WoW The War Within reputations are shared between your Warband members. This system seems to be encouraging because you do not have to worry about spending extra hours on your alts just to keep their reputation level up-to-date. Also, once you unlock any reputation reward, it becomes available to the whole Warband.

  • Flight Paths shared. Now you will only need to learn flight points on one of your characters to unlock it for the rest. Also, by completing this “path” you’ll receive Khaz Algar Flight Master.
  • WuE items. In addition to the existing types, a new type is on the way — Warbound until Equipped. This item type is planned to be added to raids and M+ rewards, as an additional lower-tier loot to help you gear up your alts quicker. This feature grants a whole new avenue for progression on your alternate characters.
  • Warband Bank. Working as usual WoW bank storage, this new feature will add extra slots to store your shared equipment and resources. This reagent bank is in fact an addition to your individual character bank vault. In general, it is 5 tabs with 98 inventory slots on each. But the more tabs you buy, the more they cost, starting with 1,000.
  • Account-wide achievements. Now, we have a system of shared achievements, which means that regardless of the character you were playing, some of the achievements will be considered “done” for the whole account and show your success.

Cross-Realm Guilds

The War Within Expansion Overview

With the War Within, social interactions and friend reunions should become even easier thanks to the Cross-Realm Guilds. This feature means, that no matter what server you are playing, you still can be a part of the guild you like.

This feature will come in handy, first of all, for multi-lingual players who want to join a foreign community. Secondly, for those, who used to play on one realm but then chose another one, leaving their once-loved character. It’s also a nice feature for players who have friends on other servers and want to spend more time together without switching characters, and for tons of other scenarios.

What are other advantages of cross-realm guilds and erasing the borders? Well, in Shadowlands Patch 9.2.5 the ability to sign up for cross-faction raids was added, and in Dragonflight Patch 10.1.0 we got the cross-faction guilds. Now we witness the possibility for cross-realm Mythic restrictions to go away.

Skyriding Updates

The War Within Expansion Overview

First introduced as Dragonriding in the Dragonflight expansion, Skyriding is set to soar to new heights in The War Within. After a chain of reworks, we got a convenient and comfortable dynamic flying option with several peculiarities. Here’s the lowdown on Skyriding:

  • Immediate Availability in Khaz Algar — As soon as players arrive in Khaz Algar, they will have access to Skyriding.
  • Evergreen Skyriding Talent Tree — The Skyriding Talent Tree is transitioning to a constant feature.
  • Collectible Skyriding Glyphs — Scattered across Khaz Algar are Skyriding Glyphs, formerly known as Dragonriding Glyphs. Collecting these glyphs is a necessary part of mastering your Skyriding abilities and unlocking new talents.
  • Earning Skyriding Proficiency — As players level up, they will earn Skyriding Proficiency. These points are made to be spent on unlocking new talents within the Skyriding Talent Tree.
  • Choice of Flight Styles — Players will have the option to choose between Skyriding and Steady Flight (the traditional flying from The Burning Crusade). For more old-style gameplay experience, you can still switch between two options.
  • Extensive Mount Compatibility — A staggering 464 mounts will be compatible with Skyriding. If you’ve played WoW before, you should have an impressive range of game mounts options.

New Endgame Activities

World of Warcraft The War Within end-game is also full of mysterious and thrilling things to explore. Newly introduced content brings us so many secrets to uncover while diving deeper into the storylines of this expansion.

The War Within Zones

The War Within Expansion Overview

In The War Within expansion, players are invited to journey beneath the surface of Azeroth into the mysterious realm of Khaz Algar, off the western shores of Pandaria, homeland of the Earthen, a race of Dwarves. At the heart of this hidden empire lies the Nerubian kingdom. In light of the current events, this is the place where the malevolent Xal’atath, the Harbinger of the Void, is gathering an army to subjugate Azeroth.

  • Isle of Dorn: Your Starting Point

The adventure begins in the Isle of Dorn, a vibrant and mountainous region flourishing with natural beauty. Moreover, this area is the homeland of the newly presented playable race — the Earthen . This time, the capital city, Dornogal, serves as a meeting hub for players from both the Horde and the Alliance factions.

  • The Ringing Deeps: Heart of the Machine Speakers

The vast caverns of the Ringing Deeps, where the titan-forged race of Machine Speakers reside. Earthen are dedicated to maintaining the ancient Titan Machines, placed here, ensuring they remain operational.

  • Hallowfall: Land of Light and Defense

To the north lies Hallowfall, a cratered landscape bordered by towering rock formations. A colossal crystal suspended above provides illumination to the Arathi, a valiant civilization defending their homeland against relentless Nerubian Forces incursions.

  • Azj-Kahet: Stronghold of the Void

Azj-Kahet is the pinnacle of Nerubian society and therefore is the stronghold where Xal’atath’s arachnid forces rest. Aside from that, this area is full of dangerous arachnids and dark, oppressive energy.

The War Within New Race

The War Within Expansion Overview

And now, the New Race. The abovementioned Earthen, a very ancient race, are now available for both Horde and Alliance as an allied race. Originating from the depths of Azeroth, the Earthen are descendants of the Titan-forged. The Earthen society is structured around their capital city, Dornogal, located in the Isle of Dorn.

The Hidden Achievement Allied Races: Earthen sheds light on the  requirements to unlock the Earthen allied race:

  • Firstly, you should complete all the main storylines for the level-up campaign in The War Within;
  • Then, pick up the side questline Hope, An Anomaly in the Isle of Dorn;
  • Also, start the side questline Mourning Rise in the Isle of Dorn;
  • And the final touch: start the side questline Broken Tools in the Ringing Deeps.

The best pro players from the Overgear team can help you with these uneasy tasks and offer the Earthen Race Unlock service. It’s fast and convenient, and you will even get a bonus — the War Within Campaign completion.

  • Mage: Ranged Cloth DPS;
  • Monk: Tank, Healer, or Melee Leather DPS;

Class Changes

The War Within Expansion Overview

What else can this expansion bring us? Well, there’s one more undoubtedly exciting new feature introduced in World of Warcraft The War Within. Each class will have access to three distinct talent trees, with two of these being basic trees for each class specialization, and one of them is the new Hero Talents Tree.

For a detailed breakdown of this topic, including specific talent trees for each spec, check our latest Hero Talents Overview.

All in all, starting at level 71, players will unlock this talent tree and earn one talent point per level from 71 to 80. Your Hero Talents Tree has two options to pick from, and these subtrees depend on your spec. The system offers low opportunity costs for respeccing and swapping between trees, allowing more customization.

Leveling Changes

Finally, The upcoming The War Within pre-patch will introduce several changes to the leveling process. Specifically, the amount of Experience Points or XP required to progress from levels 10 to 70 will be substantially reduced. For instance, it means that reaching Level 70 on your new or alt characters will become smoother and easier.

Additionally, Chromie Time, the alternative leveling system that allows players to experience past expansions’ content, will now cover levels 10 to 71. Meanwhile, for first-time players, Dragonflight will be set as the default leveling experience within Chromie Time. Now character boost becomes even more exciting.
