Phase Diving Basics

Phase Diving is a brand-new feature in WoW The War Within Patch 11.2. It lets you explore an alternate version of K’aresh — the Untethered Space. This mysterious zone is packed with new quests, enemies, and hidden treasures. Phase Diving is also directly tied to unlocking Reshii Wraps, the artifact cloak.

What Happens During Phase Diving in WoW The War Within Patch 11.2? When you activate Phase Diving, your character takes on an energy form. This lets you shift into a new “phase” of K’aresh — one where you can see and interact with hidden elements like enemies, bosses, and loot that are otherwise invisible.

Movement in Phase Diving zones is mostly done on foot. However, as you progress deeper into the world, you’ll unlock a special mount, the Phase-Lost Slateback, perfect for getting around the Untethered Space. To start Phase Diving, you’ll need to find special conduits scattered across the K’aresh zone. We’ll cover their locations and usage in a later section of this guide.

In a word, Phase Diving will become an integral part of your Season 3 gameplay, so it’s quite important to know what’s going on. You can significantly speed up the process of Phase Diving unlock by asking our team to deal with the K’aresh Campaign for you. It’ll allow you to skip preparational steps and jump straight into the Untethered Space.

Unlocking Phase Diving

You’ll unlock The War Within Phase Diving almost at the same time as you get your cloak. However, unlocking the feature itself is not the end, as you’ll also have an introductory questline to get acquainted with the mechanics within the Phase Diving. Here’s how it works and what you need to do:

1. Start the K’aresh Campaign in Dornogal, Foundation Hall. Look for Locus-Walker to pick up the first quest;
2. Complete Chapter 3 of the main campaign, with The Tabiqa quest being a part of it;
3. Receive Another World quest that will introduce you to Hashim and Shad’anis — the cloak upgrader and Phase Diving merchant;
4. Complete The Untethered Void quest to learn about Conduit platforms;
5. The quest What Doesn’t See You will introduce the creatures in the Phase Diving;
6. The quest The Untethered Horror will lead you to your first enemy takedown in Phase Diving;
7. Finally, you’ll reach the Wrapped Up quest that will explain how to upgrade your cloak.

Upon completing these quests, you’ll be fully prepared for Phase Diving.

Phase Diving Cloak

As we have already mentioned, Reshii Wraps are an essential item for Phase Diving. How does the Reshii Wraps cloak affect Phase Diving? In fact, it provides various buffs and perks, e.g., allows you to see creatures living within the Untethered Space. Also, unlocking Orbs of Power for your legendary cloak grants you access to the Phase-Lost Slateback mount.

Phase Diving Weeklies

TWW Patch 11.2 Phase Diving comes with a set of weekly quests that help you make the most of your time in the Untethered Space. These quests not only guide your activities but also reward you with valuable currencies and reputation gains.

1. More Than Just a Phase — This is the main weekly quest from Shad’anis that you should prioritize. It sends you into the Untethered zone to complete world quests, defeat enemies, and loot hidden treasures. Your rewards include Untethered Coins and K’areshi Trust reputation.
2. Warrants — Offered by Constable Zo’ardaz, this quest tasks you with capturing specific creatures throughout K’aresh. In return, you’ll earn Ethereal Strands, another key currency used for unlocking rewards and upgrades in Patch 11.2.

And don’t forget that every week you’ll be able to participate in World Quests in ethereal form all around the Untethered Space. These world quests require fighting against creatures, gathering items, and more, and can only be completed when phasing.

Phase Diving Conduits

WoW The War Within Phase Diving Conduits are special devices that let you enter and exit the phase, as well as fast travel across the K’aresh zone. There are 15 Phase Diving Conduits in total. Think of them like teleporters, but they work more like flight masters: you’ll need to physically reach and unlock each conduit before you can use it for travel. 📌 Note: The Vanquisher’s Wake island cannot be used for conduit travel.

While you will primarily use Conduits to go in and out of phasing, you are not limited to this option. Untethered Xy’bucha is a unique beverage that allows you to enter the Untethered Space without using a Conduit. Phase Regulator that you can buy from Sha’danis is an item that will take you out of the phase whenever you want.

Phase Diving Rewards

Once you’ve gathered enough Untethered Coins, you can trade them in for powerful TWW Phase Diving rewards. Head over to Shad’anis at Overlook Zo’Shuul, the main vendor for Phase Diving gear and cosmetics.

You’ll earn most of your Untethered Coins by completing the weekly quest More Than Just a Phase, so make sure to finish it every week to keep your currency flowing. If you do so, you’ll be able to buy whatever you want, even Lavender K’arroc — one of the best (and the most expensive) mounts on the list. After you have Reshii Wraps equipped, you can enter Phase Diving by interacting with a Phase Conduit located throughout K’aresh. The conduit applies the “Phase Diving” buff and transports you into Untethered Space. Once a conduit has been discovered, it also functions as a teleport network, similar to flight paths.

How Do I Exit Phase Diving?

You can leave Untethered Space by clicking the Phase Diving action‑bar button when you are at Overlook Zo’Shuul or by using a consumable Phase Regulator. The regulator is sold by Shad’anis at Overlook Zo’Shuul for a small cost and instantly removes the Phase Diving effect.

Where Are the Phase Conduit Locations in K’aresh?

Phase Conduits are spread across K’aresh. Our guide lists conduits and their coordinates at Shadow Point, Untethered Space, Fracture of Laacuna, Shan’dorah, The Oasis, North Sufaad, Lunnall River, Serrated Peaks, Naakroa, Hosaas’ Rest, Ruins of Yaathron, and Tazavesh, the Veiled Market.

Can I Use Mounts while Phase Diving?

Not initially. When you first start Phase Diving, you cannot use mounts; however, your character moves at +150 % movement speed to compensate. Upgrading your Reshii Wraps cloak with the Orbs of Power empowerment lets you ride Phase‑Lost Slateback mount within Untethered Space.

What Are Warrants in Phase Diving?

Warrants are special bounty quests acquired from Constable Zo’ardaz in Tazavesh. They can only be completed while Phase Diving and grant Ethereal Strands, the currency used to upgrade Reshii Wraps.

What Currency Do I Earn through Phase Diving?

The primary Phase Diving currency is the Untethered Coin, which is Warband‑transferable. According to Blizzard, Untethered Coins are awarded for completing the weekly quest More Than Just a Phase.
