HOME WoW WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

This WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide will discuss outgoing rewards, currencies, equipment, characters, and launch weeks. Not all of these tasks need to be completed. Choose whichever task you feel comfortable doing. Venomous Abyss raid, new Mythic+ pool, PvP progression, and Delve quests are some of the features of WoW Midnight Season 2. Before engaging in the grind for these new additions, there is time to prepare for them in two different periods.

  • Unlock and complete every available Omnium Folio row.
  • Claim any Season 1 raid, Mythic+, PvP, and Delve rewards you still want.

What to Do Before WoW Midnight Season 2

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

The optimal Midnight S2 preparation way starts by getting power and perks with an actual deadline attached. The equipment is important, but a little upgrade won’t beat an impossible mount or title. These are the things to do before WoW Midnight Season 2:

  1. Complete all Midnight campaign chapters.
  2. Unlock all the rows of Omnium Folio.
  3. Complete all the Season 1 achievements that remain.
  4. Collect raid, Mythic+, PvP, and Delve exclusive rewards.
  5. Spend all the currencies of the seasons.
  6. Upgrade class sets for transmog.
  7. Prepare yourself along with the alts you have chosen.
  8. Familiarize yourself with the Mythic+ dungeon list of Season 2.
  9. Buy necessary consumables and organize professions.
  10. Clear your bags, quest log, and unnecessary add-ons.

With that in mind, you can start planning your Season 2 of Midnight preparations. But do not force yourself through content you never play. A dedicated Mythic+ player gains little from a last-minute Gladiator attempt, and the same applies in reverse. However, with the Last Chance Bundle you can get all the desired achievements and rewards in one go.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Deadlines

As it usually goes for WoW, Patch 12.1 and Midnight Season 2 do not launch together. Curse of Ula’tek arrives first, followed by the seasonal reset one week later.

At Patch 12.1 week, all Season 2 dungeons will open at the Heroic and Mythic 0 difficulties. The Mythic 0 will use a weekly reset and drop item level 292 gear.

Prey hunts in Normal and Hard difficulties will be available during this week as well. Normal and Hard delve tiers will become accessible; however, Bountiful Delves and keys will unlock only during Season 2. Great Vault credit for Season 2 will be available right away.

Complete Season 1 Campaign Quests

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

Before World of Warcraft Midnight Season 2 releases, finish the max-level Midnight campaign that is available until the Curse of Ula’tek release. The safest path is the ongoing Zul’jan storyline, which was released in Midnight Revelations.

In Patch 12.1, Zul’jan’s story will continue, and you will go to the Coiled Isle. Finishing all chapters now will save you from the old quest line that will be blocking your fast progression in the new zone.

✏️ Monitor the progress of the campaign on all characters who are going to play in Patch 12.1. You can use Warbands to avoid repeating tasks, but some characters may require introduction quests and unlockables.

These quests can be completed after the patch. The problem is that the first day of the launch will have a lot of other activities — new campaign, dungeon, Delves, and outdoor content.

Unlock Midnight Season 1 Powers Progression

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

The Omnium Folio is a key system to place at the top of any WoW Midnight Season 2 checklist. In contrast to the Season 1 gear, the rune powers will work during the rest of Midnight.

Magister Umbric and Grand Magister Rommath present the Folio via the Sunstrider Omnium quest chain. Additional rune rows and their buffs become unlocked after weekly activities.

Do all of the weekly Folio quests before Patch 12.1. The absence of one row may be insignificant at first sight, but neglecting the permanent character buff before a new raid tier doesn’t seem reasonable.

Claim Midnight Season 1 Achievements and Rewards

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

World of Warcraft Midnight Season 1 features rewards that vanish when Season 2 starts. Some will remain accessible yet become harder to acquire since their corresponding dungeons or activities will rotate out of the cycle.

Midnight Season 1 Raid Achievements and Rewards

Season 1 offers different Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements for The Dreamrift, The Voidspire, and March on Quel’Danas. Each raid also gives Argent, Gleaming, and Aureate Housing rewards from their respective bosses:

  • Argent versions can be obtained by Raid Finder and Normal players.
  • Gleaming versions can be obtained by Heroic players;
  • Mythic is obtained by completing all three difficulties.

These fixed Seasonal rewards should take precedence over the permanent rare drops. The mount that will always be there can wait, but not the Ahead of the Curve achievement, which you can secure with the help of pur professional raiders.

Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ Achievements and Rewards

Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ rewards cover a wide rating range. The main goals include:

RatingReward
1,500“the Umbral” title
2,000Calamitous Carrion mount
2,500Midnight Keystone Hero achievement
3,000Convalescent Carrion mount
3,400“the Umbral Contender” title and Timelost Saddle
Top 1%Umbral Ashes mount
Top 0.1%“the Umbral Hero” title

Top-percentage cutoffs can move during the final weeks. Sometimes it’s better to leave a score buffer instead of parking directly above the current estimate. Timing each Season 1 dungeon on Mythic Level 10 also unlocks its teleport. Several of these dungeons may not return for a long time.

Until the end of Season 1, you still have a chance to earn Umbral Ashes — the prestigious mount granted for being among top 1% players. With our team, you can secure getting both the mount, and the position among the best players.

Midnight Season 1 PvP Achievements and Rewards

Rated PvP rewards become unavailable when the season closes. Check your current rating before deciding which milestone still fits the remaining time.

Solo Shuffle, Battleground Blitz, healer, and top-ladder titles also have seasonal requirements. Push these only when you are already sitting close to the target. If you haven’t touched PvP yet, but the Gladiator Title is your dream, reach out to our team for assistance.

Midnight Season 1 Delve Achievements and Rewards

There are three Nullaeus achievements to be had for the Season 1 Delve cycle:

Look at your Delver’s Journey achievement track for any unclaimed rewards. Companion levels will have some practical use, but not the Season 1 curios, which shouldn’t take much of your farming time anymore.

Midnight Season 1 Limited-Time Events and Rewards

There are a few WoW Midnight time-limited events that will end with the first season and won’t make it to Season 2. For instance, the Decor Duels conclude with Curse of Ula’tek. This last-minute surge will double the Illusionary Coin bonuses, hence making this the best time to get the cosmetics. Other valuable limited-time events and rewards include:

  • The Decor Duel rewards can be purchased using Voidlight Marl after Decor Duels. The use of Illusionary Coins currently will conserve the new currency for future use.
  • There is also a deadline for the Goal! achievement. Acquire the Tabard of Participation and make three goals near Thalassian University.
  • Turbulent Timeways event comes to an end with Patch 12.1. Ensure that you check how close you are to completing the Master of the Turbulent Timeways.

Prepare for Midnight Season 1 Resets

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

Midnight currencies from Season 1 cannot be used for funding the next gearing cycle. What currency resets in Midnight Season 2:

Currency or ResourceRecommended Action
Season 1 DawncrestsUpgrade useful gear or trade lower crests upward
Dawnlight ManafluxConvert eligible Season 1 gear through the Catalyst
Restored Coffer KeysUse them on current Bountiful Delves
Coffer Key ShardsConvert or spend them before the reset
UndercoinsPurchase wanted vendor rewards
Illusionary CoinsSpend them before Decor Duels closes
Season 1 Conquest and Bloody TokensFinish any remaining PvP purchases
Season 1 crafting resourcesUse them only when the craft still has value

Check your currency tab and see everything that is listed there under the season that is currently ongoing before the reset happens. The most secure method would simply be spending those currencies associated with the powers of Season 1, Bountiful Delves, Catalyst charges, and so forth. However, your Gold remains untouched, so piling some before the season start is a reasonable decision.

✏️ Do not hoard Dawncrests for Season 2 gear. The new season introduces its own upgrade currency family, so old crests cannot skip early progression.

What Remains in Midnight Season 2

When moving to WoW Midnight Season 2, your gold, unlocked cosmetics, achievements, mounts, reputation, and equipment stay in your account. The power of the runes of Omnium Folio also carries through until the end of the event.

The equipment from the first season stays worn and functions normally, except for the fact that it does not upgrade according to the new season anymore. Expansion currencies might also prove useful. Just take a look at the tooltip before making any purchases other than the Season 1 ones.

Prepare Midnight Season 2 Characters

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide

Before Season 2 in WoW Midnight starts, decide which characters you will play, who will be the main, and which alts you want to prioritize. Preparing six alts sounds fun until every weekly activity appears on the same reset. How to decide on how many alts you need in WoW Midnight Season 2:

  • A casual player focused on open-world PvE or story usually needs one main character ready.
  • Raiders may want one backup character depending on the raid roster.
  • Dedicated Mythic+ players may prepare another role for group flexibility.

Bring selected characters to level 90 and finish their required campaign access. Give each one working talents, basic enchants, and enough gear for patch-week Mythic 0. With our Power Leveling, it can be way faster and easier.

Do not chase maximum Season 1 item level on every alt. A functional Hero-track set gives a much better time-to-power ratio. Also, check loot specializations before opening caches or taking bonus rolls. One forgotten setting can turn a good reward into vendor gold.

Prepare Professions and Consumables

It can be extremely beneficial to assign a profession to each of your characters for easier access to consumables, enchants, and other useful crafted items. Patch 12.1 brings an available knowledge reset, which can give crafters a chance to repair awkward early choices. Therefore, think over your profession choices and be ready to prepare a stock of a reasonable amount of:

  • Flasks;
  • Combat potions;
  • Healing potions;
  • Food;
  • Weapon enhancements;
  • Enchants;
  • Gems;
  • Repair materials.

Prices often rise when raid and Mythic+ progression begin. Do not empty your bank, but buying several raid nights early can save both gold and interruptions. And if you haven’t got any profession yet, our Profession Knowledge offer can help you out.

Update Bags, Add-ons, and the Quest Log

Before the start of the new WoW Midnight season, you should clean out your bags of outdated equipment, expired tokens, and random quest rewards. Ensure you have space left to accommodate any campaign rewards, crafting components, and dungeon loot.

Also, it’s useful to check raiding utilities, boss timers, nameplate add-ons, damage meters, and Mythic Dungeon Tools. The latest patch 12.1 also introduces some changes to the Cooldown Manager and ping utility, and thus, it is best to test the default options that come with it.

Finally, it’s worth completing or dropping old dailies and other quests before the update. You’ll need to have enough quest log space for the new campaign and story quests in Season 2. Also, having an empty quest log greatly simplifies the Coiled Isle campaign.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Preparation

When the M0 becomes available in Midnight Patch 12.1, play each dungeon on Mythic 0 prior to keystones opening. The dungeons will have a weekly reset, but running them will allow you to discover the changes to bosses, dangerous trash abilities, and route problems while playing at your leisure here. Take special notice of the following:

  • Interrupts needed;
  • Disease, curse, poison, and magic dispels;
  • Tankbuster timing;
  • Defensive checks for the group;
  • Phase trigger abilities;
  • Dangerous patrols;
  • Class skips and utilities.

Do not use the old King’s Rest and Temple of Sethraliss routes without confirming the updated Season 2 version. Most returning dungeons have pacing and mechanics altered.

✏️ Temple of Sethraliss loses several old Mythic achievements in its new incarnation. Be sure to complete Snake Eyes, Snake Eater, and Good Night, Sweet Prince before Season 2.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Raid Preparation

The Venomous Abyss opens with Midnight Season 2, so preparing early saves a lot of time for early progression. Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and Raid Finder Wing 1 become available during the first seasonal reset. The raid contains eight bosses and ends with Ula’tek. Story Mode and Raid Finder Wing 2 arrive one week later.

To prepare for the new World of Warcraft Midnight Season 2 raid early, you need to finish the current campaign and the new Coiled Isle introduction. Also, discover the raid entrance and nearby travel routes early to be there on time.

  • If you play with the Guild, check your guild’s planned difficulty, raid days, roster, and loot rules.
  • Solo Players joining through Group Finder should prepare a working single-target build and a defensive setup.

Gear-wise, you should not lock every crafted slot before the final loot tables settle. Venomous Abyss includes class sets, special raid items, and rewards from Ula’tek. You can read our comprehensive guide to learn more about the new raid. Completing it is going to be the top-1 priority for raiders, and our team can do the Venomous Abyss Heroic run with you.

Raid Consumables

Progression in raids in WoW Midnight Season 2 burns through potions and food faster than a farm clear. What consumables do you need to prepare for WoW Midnight Season 2:

  • Raid flasks;
  • Combat and healing potions;
  • Personal food;
  • Weapon enhancements;
  • Spare enchants and gems;
  • Repair gold;
  • Single-target and cleave talent builds.

Raid Add-ons

You should update WoW Midnight Season 2 boss mods shortly before the raid begins. Early versions may change several times during the first week. Check raid frames, dispel tracking, defensive reminders, and assignment notes. Healers should also review the expanded Raid Frame settings arriving with Patch 12.1.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Checklist

In WoW Midnight, the launch of Patch 12.1 acts as a bridge between the old season and the new one. Use it for access quests, dungeon practice, early gear, and Great Vault progress. Complete these tasks first after Curse of Ula’tek launches:

  1. Continue the Midnight campaign.
  2. Unlock the Coiled Isle and its main hub.
  3. Complete introductory zone quests.
  4. Run Altar of Fangs.
  5. Clear every Season 2 dungeon on Mythic 0.
  6. Try the three new Delves.
  7. Complete Normal or Hard Prey hunts.
  8. Fill useful Season 2 Great Vault objectives.
  9. Check the new currency and profession menus.
  10. Update your final talents, gear sets, and consumables.

Mythic 0 uses a weekly reset during this first week and drops item level 292 gear. Great Vault credit also begins, so the week is not an empty progression time. Bountiful Delves, keys, Mythic+, Nightmare Prey, and the Venomous Abyss remain locked until Season 2. Tidebound Grotto is only available on World Difficulty during patch week.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Week 1 Checklist

The first Midnight Season 2 seasonal reset opens nearly every major progression route. Your best order depends on whether you focus on raids, Mythic+, or solo content. A safe general route for Week 1 of Midnight S2 looks like this:

  1. Open the first Season 2 Great Vault.
  2. Check weekly quests and new seasonal objectives.
  3. Clear your planned Venomous Abyss difficulty.
  4. Begin Mythic+ progression.
  5. Complete Bountiful Delves and use available keys.
  6. Unlock Nightmare Prey activities.
  7. Run the Tidebound Grotto on your chosen difficulty.
  8. Review new crafting and Catalyst options.
  9. Spend crests after checking your strongest upgrade slots.
  10. Fill the next Great Vault with useful activities.

✏️ Do not upgrade every drop immediately. Early gear changes quickly, and crests spent on a temporary slot cannot help your next strong item.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation FAQ

This section covers answers to the most popular questions related to the WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation route.

When Does WoW Midnight Season 2 Start?

WoW Midnight Season 2 begins on August 18, 2026, for the North American server. The European servers will have the season start one day later. Patch 12.1 will release a week prior to that. This week features campaign missions, Mythic 0 dungeons, regular Delves, and Great Vault credit.

Is Patch 12.1 the Same as Midnight Season 2?

Not really. Patch 12.1 is called Curse of Ula’tek and brings Coiled Isle and other content prior to seasonal progression starting. Mythic+, PvP Season 2, Venomous Abyss, and Bountiful Delves will unlock a week after that.

What Should I Do First Before Midnight Season 2?

Complete all the campaign quests as well as all the rows in Omnium Folio. Then review which Season 1 rewards will be lost during the seasonal reset. Then use your currencies and ready your characters.

What Resets in WoW Midnight Season 2?

Season 1 stats, seasonal adventures, currency to buy up levels, and many other currencies will either reset or lose their use. However, your existing gear, money, aesthetics, achievements, reputations, and powers from the Omnium Folio stay in effect.

Will Season 1 Gear Become Useless?

No. The strong gear you earned in Season 1 is great for starting off with Patch 12.1 and then into Season 2 game content. It will be replaced by new raid, Mythic+, Delve, PvP, and crafted gear.

Should I Spend Season 1 Crests Before Season 2?

Yes. Spend your Season 1 Dawncrests on something useful, or on trades with crests, or even appearances of your class set before it stops being upgraded. You cannot use them to upgrade gear from Season 2.

Is It Worth Gearing Alts Before Season 2?

Yes, but be sure to prepare just those alts you are going to play. One primary and one alt are usually enough for any player without making an extra job. Just a working Hero-track set is more than enough. The highest gear of Season 1 is not needed.

What Item Level Should I Have for Midnight Season 2?

There is no particular starting item level that all players should have before Midnight Season 2 begins. The goal will depend on whether you want to raid, run Mythic+, or do solo runs. A decent starting point is provided by the current Hero-track gear.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Preparation Guide 4.9

Midnight Season 2 preparation becomes much simpler once you separate deadlines from optional grinding. Finish permanent power and limited rewards first, then get your main ready for patch week. The new season has enough gearing routes to replace old equipment quickly. Start organized, avoid preparing too many alts, and save your early resources for upgrades that actually last.
