WoW Player Housing

WoW Midnight Preview

WoW Midnight player housing is a new system that introduces dedicated Neighborhood zones where players can claim their own homes. Player housing is not just static buildings that players can choose from; they are fully personal spaces that can be styled to reflect how you want your house to look.

Customization is the core of the system. A 3D placement tool will let you arrange furniture and decorations either on a tidy grid or in freeform mode for more creativity. Walls, floors, and furnishings can be recolored using a dye system, while hundreds of collectible décor items expand your design options over time. These items can be obtained from crafting and bosses, giving more incentive for players to explore zones outside of the current expansion. Everything you unlock is stored in the Housing Chest, a central UI that tracks your collection and makes switching layouts simple. Check out our Player Housing Overview for more information!

WoW Midnight New Level Cap

Midnight raises the level cap to 90, giving players a full new leveling journey across four zones in Quel’Thalas. The story will start in Eversong Woods, where the campaign picks up directly after the expansion cinematic. From there, players can travel through completely new areas and remakes of the old ones.

Silvermoon City has been fully restored and will serve as the central hub for Midnight. While it remains a Horde capital, Alliance players will still spend time there, though certain areas will stay faction-restricted.

After finishing the starting story in Eversong, players can choose their path:

  • Head into an expanded Zul’Aman, revisiting the Amani homeland.
  • Journey into Harandar, a new zone tied to unlocking the Haranir Allied Race.

Both zones must eventually be completed, but the order is up to the player. Once those stories are finished, the campaign moves into Voidstorm, where the push to level 90 is completed.

WoW Midnight New Zones

WoW Midnight Preview

Midnight adds five main areas to explore: the rebuilt Silvermoon City hub and four leveling zones: Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm. These zones take players from 80 to the new level cap of 90.

Silvermoon City – Expansion Hub

Silvermoon City has been restored and now serves as the hub for Midnight. New areas include the Sanctum of Light and the Memorial Garden. The Scourge invasion is long over, and the city and surrounding lands have been repaired. Silvermoon remains a Horde capital, with certain areas closed to Alliance players.

Eversong Woods

The campaign begins in Eversong Woods, with the opening event centered on defending the Sunwell from Xal’atath. The woods and the former Ghostlands have been healed.

Zul’Aman

Zul’Aman is now a full outdoor zone. It covers the ancestral lands of the Forest Troll tribes, with forests, mountains, and troll ruins. The temples of the Loa still stand, though silent. The Amani are now led by Zul’jarra and Zul’jan, grandchildren of Zul’jin. At its center is Atal’Aman, rebuilt as the Amani capital.

Harandar

Harandar is a jungle grown around the roots of the World Trees. Its terrain is made of fungal growths, moss paths, and strange plant life. It is also the homeland of the Haranir, the new Allied Race introduced in Midnight.

Voidstorm

The last leveling zone, Voidstorm, is a broken world filled with unstable Void energy. Players will fight through stormfields, low-gravity areas, and three massive Nexus Points that draw in and consume the Void itself.

New Demon Hunter Spec in Midnight

WoW Midnight Preview

WoW Midnight introduces the Devourer, a third Demon Hunter specialization inspired by Adarus Duskblaze from the Soul Hunters encounter in Manaforge Omega. Unlike Havoc and Vengeance, Devourer fights at mid-range. It can use both melee attacks and ranged Void abilities.

Alongside the new specialization, Void Elf Demon Hunters are being added as a playable option in Midnight. The Void Elf connection ties directly to Midnight’s setting in Quel’Thalas, where their fractured history with Silvermoon will be a major story element.

WoW Midnight New Dungeons

WoW Midnight Preview

Midnight launches with eight new dungeons, spread across Quel’Thalas, Harandar, and the Void. These dungeons mix returning locations with new settings that tie directly into the leveling campaign and endgame.

  • Windrunner Spire: Learn more about the Windrunner sisters by uncovering the Ghostlands essence.
  • Magister’s Terrace: This is a remake of a dungeon from The Burning Crusade.
  • Murder Row: An area of Silvermoon City turned into a full-blown dungeon.
  • Den of Nalorakk: This dungeon is built around a series of trials based on seasons of the year.
  • Maisara Caverns: Save Witherbark Trolls from the void abductors.
  • Blinding Vale: Cut the overgrown mutant plants before they reach Silvermoon.
  • Voidscar Arena: Battle various creatures for the entertainment of a powerful void entity.
  • Nexus-Point Xenas: Ascend a great Void tower in the climax of Midnight’s story.

WoW Midnight New Mechanics

Midnight introduces several new systems that will shape how players experience both the leveling journey and endgame.

Prey

Prey is a new opt-in World mode where players can hunt down powerful enemies across different zones. Progression is tracked through a crystal UI, which shifts as hunts intensify, giving players a clear sense of how dangerous things are becoming. The twist is that while you are tracking your prey, they may also be hunting you.

There are three tiers of difficulty. Normal serves as an introduction with straightforward hunts. Hard adds Torments and enclosed encounters that restrict movement. Nightmare raises the stakes further, introducing punishing fights and even the chance of corpse runs. Completing hunts rewards cosmetics, mounts, titles, and housing items, making this system appealing to both collectors and competitive players.

Lorewalking

The Lorewalking system, introduced in The War Within, will continue in Midnight. Lorewalker Cho will guide players through tales of the past, letting them revisit older parts of the story in a structured way. This serves both as a refresher for veterans and as additional storytelling content for those who missed events when they were live.

Transmog Updates

Midnight introduces several quality-of-life changes for transmog. Players will now be able to swap outfits for free, without paying gold, making experimentation much easier. Outfits can also auto-swap based on context. For example, you could set a casual look for hanging out in your home, while having a battle-ready appearance automatically load when venturing into the world.

📌 These updates streamline the customization process and give players more freedom to express themselves without the usual restrictions.

Assistance Tools

The gameplay assistance suite is also expanding in Midnight. The Cooldown Manager allows for deeper customization of aura tracking, debuff states, and sound alerts, helping players manage abilities more effectively. The Combat Assistant now uses smarter logic, improving Assisted Highlights and offering a more reliable single-button play mode. The Personal Resource Bar has also been reworked into a fully customizable HUD element in Edit Mode, giving players clearer control over their UI.

Changes to UI

Midnight continues to improve the user interface of the game. Edit Mode will support even more UI elements. We will also get adjustable text sizes and improved tooltips, making the game easier to read and interact with across different setups.

WoW Midnight Allied Race

WoW Midnight Preview

Midnight brings us a new Allied Race, one we first met briefly in The War Within: the Haranir. This race is unlocked during the main story Campaign in Harandar.

The Haranir can play the following nine classes:

  • Druid
  • Hunter
  • Mage
  • Monk
  • Priest
  • Rogue
  • Shaman
  • Warlock
  • Warrior

These ancient hunters hail from Harandar, one of the new expansion zones. For the Haranir, the roots of the World Trees are home, and architecture is grown rather than built. Their style is reminiscent of the botani of Draenor, with homes shaped from roots and glowing mushrooms.

WoW Midnight Raids

WoW Midnight Preview

Unlike recent expansions that followed a one-raid-per-season model, Midnight expansion launches with three raids available right away. While the total boss count is about the same, the content is spread across different locations, giving players multiple story arcs to progress through.

The Voidspire

This 6-boss raid takes place inside the spire at the heart of the Voidstorm, Xal’atath’s main fortress. The raid ends with a confrontation against Dominus-Lord Averzian and Salhadaar.

The Dreamrift

This is a single-boss raid where players cross into a fractured place between dream and reality. Alongside the Shul’ka, you hunt an undreamt god while fighting half-born horrors trying to claw their way into existence.

March on Quel’Danas

The story culminates in this 2-boss raid. The united elven tribes march on Sunwell Plateau, leading to the final battle of the first Midnight chapter.

WoW Midnight New Delves

WoW Midnight Preview

Delves return in Midnight, but this time players won’t be adventuring with Brann Bronzebeard. Instead, Valeera Sanguinar joins you as your companion. The expansion launches with twelve Delves spread across the opening zones:

  • The Darkway
  • Twilight Crypts
  • Atal’Aman
  • The Grudge Pit
  • The Gulf of Memory
  • Parhelion Plaza
  • Collegiate Calamity
  • The Shadow Enclave
  • Den of Echoes
  • Shadowguard Point
  • Sunkiller Sanctum
  • Torment’s Rise: the Season 1 Nemesis Delve

Not much is known about new Delves so far, but you can follow us here at Overgear as we will be posting news as soon as more information becomes available!

In the meantime, you can check out our Delve service if you want to clear instances from The War Within without stress!

PvP in WoW Midnight

PvP in Midnight is expanding with new content aimed at both large-scale battles and casual practice.

New PVP Zone – Slayer’s Rise

Midnight introduces Slayer’s Rise, a new PvP feature set in the Voidstorm. This location serves two purposes: it is both a World PvP zone and a 40 vs. 40 Battleground.

In the Battleground version, Slayer’s Rise draws inspiration from Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest. Players will need to conquer enemy strongholds, secure resources, and push deeper into hostile territory. The ultimate objective is to defeat the Domanaar commander, ending the battle in victory. Meanwhile, the open-world zone version provides an ongoing hotspot for spontaneous large-scale skirmishes.

Permanent Comp Stomp

Another major update is that Comp Stomp will no longer be a limited-time Brawl. Instead, it becomes a permanent PvP mode. Players will face off against AI opponents across rotating battlegrounds:

  • Arathi Basin
  • Battle for Gilneas
  • Silvershard Mines

This change makes Comp Stomp a reliable option for players who want to practice PvP without the pressure of live opponents. It is designed as both a training ground for new PvPers and a way for veterans to test new classes or specs in a familiar battleground environment.
