In last years, every World of Warcraft expansions has pleased fans of collecting with dozens or even hundreds of grounded and flying mounts for every taste. Dragonflight is no exception, despite the main feature of the expansion, Dragonriding, radically changed the traveling in the game. In our Dragonflight Faction Mounts, you will find every mount you can obtain for the reputation and Renown farm, and the detailed instructions about how to get them.
At the time of the patch 10.2, players can build the relationship with the six main factions and a few mini-factions. And six of them reward players for reaching Renown levels with various riding beasts (not only grounded). In most cases, you can’t buy them by using gold, so acquiring mounts becomes a great adventure.

Maruuk Centaur Mounts
First, let’s talk about Maruuk Centaur. While you can’t buy mounts from faction vendors, by farming Renown with the faction you can unlock unique questlines in Ohn’Ahra Plains with two mounts as a reward. Stands apart the faction related event Grand Hunt which also gives players a chance to ride a rare mount.
The first Maruuk mount, Lizi’s Reins, unlocks once the player reaches the Renown level 9. At this point, you should find Initiate Radiya at Ohn’ahran Plains 56.12 77.01 and complete Initiate’s Day Out stage from Sojourner of Ohn’ahran Plains achievement. After that, you will unlock 5 quests you can complete for 5 days:

Lizi’s Reins quests also require 150x Dragon Isles Supplies for each of them. Be aware that on the fifth day, the quest giver will wait for you in Ohn’ahran Plains 57.67, 72.27. At the end of this 5-day adventure, you will get the final quest Beast of the Plains with a mount as a reward.

When you get Lizi’s Reins and reach Renown level 25, you will get an opportunity to add to your collection the next Maruuk Centaur related riding reward. The unique shapeshifting mount Divine Kiss of Ohn’ahra transform you into a bird, and you can fill yourself a kind of Druid. All you need to do to obtain this mount:
- Find Godoloto at Ohn’ahran Plains 51.0 62.2 and take the quest A Whispering Breeze;
- Farm Balakar Khan in Nokhud Offensive until you get 3x Stolen Breath of Ohn’ahra;
- Buy Exultant Incense from the Auction House;
- Buy Essence of Awakening from Quartermaster Huseng for 1x Occasional Sand & 50x Dragon Isles Supplies;
- Complete quests and ride your mount!

But if you don’t want to farm Maruuk Centaur Renown and endlessly kill Balakar Khan in Nokhud Offensive, you can always order our Divine Kiss of Ohn’ahra.
The last Maruuk Centaur mount is Plainswalker Bearer, which can be acquired by completing the first Grand Hunt each week. Just find the mark on the map, and complete the required stages of the event to get the reward.

Be aware that mount drops randomly, so it can take weeks or even months.
Iskaara Tuskarr Mounts
Iskaara Tuskarr faction rewards players with mounts after reaching Renown level 25 and Renown level 30. So, the hardest part is to level Renown, because this faction is one of the most challenging for reputation leveling. At the same time, you can maximize the leveling speed by regular completion of the Community Feast event.
Renown level 25 provides you with Brown Scouting Ottuk and Yellow Scouting Ottuk. They both are sold by Tatto and cost 750x Dragon Isles Supplies, 2x Aquatic Maw, and 2x Mastodon Tusk.

At Renown 30 with Iskaara Tuskarr you can buy another two mounts, Yellow War Ottuk and Brown War Ottuk. Come back to your old friend Tatto and buy them for 1000x Dragon Isles Supplies, 5x Aquatic Maw, and 5x Mastodon Tusk (each of them).

Renown leveling is a long way, but you can save time with our Iskaara Tuskarr Mounts.
But that’s not all. As a bonus, another two riding Ottuks you can exchange from vendor Tattukiaka by using Vault of the Incarnates raid and Dragonflight dungeons drop. You can get them any time you can, no matter what Renown level you have:
- To obtain Ivory Trader’s Ottuk, you need to get Thunderous Downburst Ring from The Raging Tempest (2nd boss in the Nokhud Offensive), Unstable Arcane Loop from Leymor (1st boss in The Azure Vault), and Platinum Star Band from Vexamus (1st boss in Algeth’ar Academy) or from quest The Algeth’ar Academy;
- To obtain Iskaara Trader’s Ottuk you need to get Terros’s Captive Core from Terros (2nd boss in Vault of the Incarnates) and Eye of the Vengeful Hurricane from Dathea, Ascended (5th boss in Vault of the Incarnates).

Dragonscale Expedition Mounts
The faction of Dragon Isles explorers provides players with four mounts, with various ways to obtain them.
The maximum Renown level with Dragonscale Expedition unlocks for you two mounts from the faction vendor Granpap Whiskers, Azure Skitterfly and Tamed Skitterfly. Each of them costs 750x Dragon Isles Supplies, 5x Iridescent Plume, and 20x Contoured Fowlfeather.

Also, after teaching the Renown level 25, you can unlock an opportunity to loot Verdant Skitterfly from Expedition Scout’s Pack treasures. In most cases, players need about 20–30 attempts to finally get this reward.

Be aware that all of these charming riding insects are available in our shop as a part of the Dragonscale Expedition Mounts Bundle.
The last Dragonscale Expedition related mount is Temperamental Skyclaw. To obtain it, you need to find Zon’Wogi in the Azure Span 19.0 24.0 and share with him some specific Gnoll related foods:
- 20x Flash Frozen Meat (drops from Snow Gnolls at the Azure Span 58.23 43.53, Frozen Meat Gnolls);
- 20x Gnolan’s House Special (drops from Stormfang Gnolls in the Inn at the Azure Span 23.07 43.72, Gnoll Inn);
- 20x Tuskarr Jerky (drops from Gnolls around in the Azure Span 32.0 44.0).

Also, you can buy all these foods in the Auction House to save your time.
Loam Niffen Mounts
The main faction of the Dragonflight patch 10.1 allows you to upgrade your collection with five mounts with different ways for obtaining. Three of them represent the new version of the famous flying ray mounts you might remember from the Legion expansion (Argus mana rays) and Shadowlands (Maldraxxus necrorays).
Subterranean Magmammoth and Igneous Shalewing mounts even don’t require you to level Loam Niffen Renown. Both of them can be bought from Saccratros vendor in Loamm by using the specific Zaralek Cavern currency Coveted Bauble. Igneous Shalewing costs 100x Coveted Bauble, while Subterranean Magmammoth costs 400x Coveted Bauble.

Coveted Baubles, in turn, exchanges from Unearthed Fragrant Coins at a one-to-one rate. To get Unearthed Fragrant Coins, in turn, you should weekly or even daily complete Zaralek Cavern events. The main sources of the Unearthed Fragrant Coins and amount you can get from Zaralek Cavern events:
- Researches Under Fire event – Indebted Researcher’s Gift can contain up to 60x Unearthed Fragrant Coins, Thankful Researcher’s Gift – up to 45x, Appreciative Researcher’s Gift – up to 30x, Researcher’s Gift – 15x Unearthed Fragrant Coins. You can get the one bag of every type only once per week;
- Zaralek Cavern zone events – Clanging Dirt-Covered Pouch can contain about 6-9x Unearthed Fragrant Coin, and Clinking Dirt-Covered Pouch – about 3-5x. Events can be completed once every 4 days, or even once per week depending on the specific ones.
The next Loam Niffen mount Morsel Sniffer, by contrast, can be bought from the faction quartermaster Harlowe Marl in Loam 56.4 55.6 by the standard Dragonflight expansion currency Dragon Isles Supplies (800 in total). At the same time, it requires you to get the Renown level 18.

Another connected to Loamm Niffen Renown mount is Boulder Hauler. To ride this Zaralek shalewing, you should collect 170x Barter Bricks or 85x Barter Boulders.
Barter Bricks become available for you after reaching the Loam Niffen Renown level 3 and complete Get Rich Quick quest. After that, you can get them from the following sources:
- 1x Barter Brick from the Get Rich Quick quest;
- 10x Barter Bricks from the Bartering 101 quest;
- 10x Barter Bricks from the Valdrakken profession quests;
- An amount from Zaralek Cavern treasures like Waterlogged Bundle and Ritual Offerings;
- An amount after completing the Sniffenseek digs. You need Bartered Dig Map or Lost Dig Map to start the digs (you can complete three of them per week).

Be aware that starting from Loamm Niffen Renown level 12, you will get Barter Boulders instead of Barter Bricks. Remaining Barter Bricks can be converted into the Barter Boulders at Ponzo at a ratio of three to one. The sources of getting the Barter Boulders will match the Barter Bricks sources.
But if you don’t want to complete the all Zaralek Cavern routines to ride the Boulder Hauler Reins, you can get Loam Niffen Renown level 19. At this point, you’ll unlock an opportunity to buy the Barter Boulders for Dragon Isles Supplies at Ponzo (100 per unite).
The last Loam Niffen mount you can get in your adventures is Big Slick in the City. This is the final reward you can get after building reputation with Glimmerogg Racer mini-faction.

To know more about obtaining the Big Slick in the City spectacular mount, please read our separate article WoW Snail Racing guide. But if you are not so much interested in the process of the mount obtaining, you can check our Big Slick in the City offer to skip the weeks-long dailies on the way of taming your crystal snail.
Wrathion and Sabellian Mounts
If you check the list of the reputation rewards of these two Waking Shore mini-faction, you won’t see any mount among them. At the same time, building the relationships with two claimants to the throne of the black dragonflight Aspect can add to your mount counter one secret mount, Loyal Magmammoth.

To ride this mount, you have to work hard:
- First, you will need to reach the maximum reputation level both with Sabellian and Wrathion to buy Netherforged Lavaproof Boots (Samia Inkling or Xaldrass, 800 gold) and Sturdy Obsidian Glasses (Lorena Belle or Atticus Belle, 800 gold);
- Exchange these items at Yries Lightfingers for a Magmammoth Harness;
- After, find one of the Magmamoths at Burning Ascent 33.42 72.07, Dragonbane Keep 23.66 71.44, Scalecracker Keep 66.34 24.46, or Smoldering Perch 37.10 44.53 Smoldering Perch. Kill the nearest Qalashi Necksnapper and use Magmammoth Harness to ride this wild beast;
- Successfully harnessing the Tame Magmammoth will permanently add the Loyal Magmammoth mount to your collection, and you will get Grand Theft Mammoth achievement in addition.
You can acquire the Loyal Magmammoth as a part of the Obsidian Citadel Mounts Bundle. Just recommend you: take a closer look at other two blazing riding beasts from this offer.
Dream Wardens Mounts
Seems like Dream Wardens is the last faction added to the Dragonflight expansion, so it’s obvious that players could be seized by a lot of cosmetic rewards from the faction quartermaster and alternative vendors.
Well, that’s right, among the Dream Wardens rewards collectors can find a lot of transmog items, toys, pets, Dragonriding Manuscripts, and two riding deer mounts, Suntouched Dreamstag and Lunar Dreamstag. Both of them unlock after reaching the Renown level 17 with the faction of the Emerald Dream protectors. All you have to do after leveling reputation is to find Moon Priestess Lasara Dream Wardens quartermaster in the Emerald Dream and spend 1200x Dragon Isles Supplies on every mount.

But that’s not all. Dragonflight patch 10.2 brought us a lot of Emerald Dream activities, and they can unlock for you an opportunity to get six more mounts. And they are not usual mounts, but emerald spectral models of the creatures from the Dragon Isles and the Emerald Dream:
- Delugen (spectral ottuk)
- Imagiwing (spectral shalewing)
- Mammyth (spectral mammoth)
- Salatrancer (spectral salamanther)
- Stargrazer (spectral deer)
- Talont (spectral sabretooth raptor)
All of them can be bought from Elianna at the Central Encampment in Amirdrassil in the Emerald Dream by spending 1x Dream Infusion for every mount. To unlock access to the Dream Infusion, in turn, you should get the Dream Wardens Renown level 5. Unfortunately, right now we don’t know exactly the sources for obtaining this currency, but we’ll add this information to our article right after the Dragonflight patch 10.2 release.
But we already know another interesting moment about acquiring the translucent Emerald Dream mounts. To get every of them, you should have in your collection at least one mount of the same species as emerald spectral mounts. So, if you want to enhance your collection with the Emerald Dream novelties, you should close gaps in the previous Dragonflight patches.
This is all we can tell you about the Dragonflight faction mounts. But do not forget, that collecting in World of Warcraft is not limited only to reputation grinding on the way to the coveted rewards. Stay tuned, and we’ll help you learn more about other sources of the Dragonflight mounts and the best ways to acquire them.
