Dragonflight Blacksmithing Bonuses & Benefits

Blacksmithing will probably be one of the main professions for every player who searching for a good way to gold making. This is because Blacksmithing has several advantages:

  • Crafting weapons and armor is still the main blacksmiths’ job, but now they can craft items up to Mythic raids item level;
  • Rare BoE equipment can be mass-crafted through the Crafting Orders system;
  • Weapon stones are making a comeback and definitely will be in demand (you will need the weapon stone specialization to craft them);
  • The creation of new professional tools has also been added, and all other gatherers and crafters will need them.

Dragonflight Blacksmithing Changes

We’ve rounded up the most notable changes and improvements to the Dragonflight Blacksmithing profession.

  • The profession will have a new interface;
  • Your character will get an appearance in special equipment when performing an action related to the Blacksmithing profession;
  • Blacksmithing currently got four specializations: Armorsmithing, Weaponsmithing, Specialty smithing, and Hammer Control. Whereas the first two deal with weapons and armor. Specialty smithing interacts with weapon gems, professional tools, and alloys. Hammer Control improves the quality of all its crafts;
  • Profession Knowledge was added to maximize the use of professional specializations;
  • Crafting Orders joined us as a new system that will allow you to place an order for items of interest to other players;
  • Recrafting will allow you to replace optional stats that were used to craft an item with a higher-quality one. This way you don’t have to create new items;
  • New Crafting-Specific stats will make your crafting gameplay much more convenient.

Dragonflight Blacksmithing Leveling

This guide will show you the efficient way to level up in Blacksmithing, as well as the list of required reagents for this. Armorsmithing Blacksmith Specialization

Armor crafting concentrates on crafting higher-quality Plate armor pieces as well as learning new armor recipes and ways to customize armor bonuses as you craft them.

Armorsmithing (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at making plate armor.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Learning how to use Optional Reagents to increase the level of items on most armor plans;

Up to +15 Inspiration and up to +15 Resourcefulness when you make plate armor;

Any sub-specialization of your choice and learn it.

Large Plate Armor (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at making the largest armor pieces, Including chest, legs, and shields.

You must have 10 points in Armorsmithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Learning how to use Optional Reagents that will help determine secondary stats on many large plate armor plans;

Up to +10 Inspiration and up to +10 Resourcefulness when you make armor for chests and legs, plus shields;

Any sub-specialization of your choice and learn it;

Learning how to use Quenching Fluid Finishing Reagents on large plate armor plans.

Breastplates (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming an expert in making plate chest armor.

You must have 10 points in Large Plate Armor to learn this sub-specialization.

Blades (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at making various bladed weapons and tools.

You must have 10 points in Weaponsmithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Learning how to use Optional Reagents that will help determine secondary stats on many bladed weapon plans;

Up to +10 Inspiration and up to +10 Resourcefulness when you make long and short blades;

Any sub-specialization of your choice and learn it;

Short Blades (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at making short-bladed weapons and tools, Including knives, daggers, and fist weapons.

Specialty Smithing Blacksmith Specialization

Specialty Smithing concentrates on non-combat items that Blacksmiths make, such as tools and metal alloys.

Specialty Smithing (40 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at making non-combat items.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +5 Inspiration and up to +5 Resourcefulness when you craft non-combat items;

Any sub-specialization of your choice and learn it;

Learning how to use special Finishing Reagents to increase crafting quality and speed on plans for various non-combat items.

Toolsmithing (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming an expert in crafting metal tools and accessories for various professions.

You must have 5 points in Specialty Smithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +10 Inspiration and up to +15 Crafting Skill when you craft profession tools and accessories;

Learning how to craft a Draconium Blacksmith’s Toolbox;

Learning how to use Quenching Fluid Finishing Reagents together with plans for professional tools and accessories.

Adventuring Gear (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming an expert in crafting adventuring gear such as grappling hooks.

You must have 5 points in Specialty Smithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +10 Inspiration, up to +10 Resourcefulness, and up to +15 Crafting Skill when you craft adventuring gear;

Learning how to use Quenching Fluid Finishing Reagents with plans for adventuring gear.

Stonework (20 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming an expert in crafting stone improvements for weapons and tools.

You must have 5 points in Specialty Smithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +40 Multicraft and up to +10 Inspiration when you craft stone goods;

Up to 50% additional products from Multicraft when you craft stone goods.

Smelting (20 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming an expert at smelting alloys and other special reagents.

You must have 5 points in Specialty Smithing to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +20 Multicraft and up to +10 Inspiration when you smelt alloys and other reagents;

Up to 50% additional products from Multicraft when you smelt alloys and other reagents.

Hammer Control Blacksmith Specialization

This specialization gives you the ability to use resources economically and improve the quality of crafts.

Hammer Control (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming better at the art of blacksmithing.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +3 Crafting Skill, up to +10 Inspiration, and up to +10 Resourcefulness when you make Blacksmithing goods;

Any sub-specialization of your choice and learn it;

Blacksmithing is 15% faster.

Safety Smithing (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, with more economical use of reagents.

You must have 10 points in Hammer Control to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +10 Resourcefulness when you make Blacksmithing goods;

Up to 5% additional reagents Resourcefulness will save you when you craft Blacksmithing goods.

Poignant Plans (30 Points). For each point of this specialization, you gain +1 Crafting Skill, becoming a more inspired Blacksmith.

You must have 10 points in Hammer Control to learn this sub-specialization.

Mastering this talent you can get:

Up to +10 Inspiration when you make Blacksmithing goods;

Up to 50% additional Crafting Skill from Inspiration when you craft Blacksmithing goods.

Dragonflight Blacksmithing Specialization Basics

You will be able to learn Blacksmithing specializations from level 25 skill in Dragon Isles Blacksmithing. Once you’ve leveled up in Blacksmithing, you’ll have access to the Specializations profession tab, where you’ll be able to see options for four different specializations. Hammer Control is the fourth specialization that does not require points, so it is available for more detailed and in-depth exploration once you can unlock Blacksmithing specializations. To learn other specializations, you will need a certain level of the Dragon Isles Blacksmithing profession. Specializations are allowed to be studied in any order:

At Dragon Isles Blacksmithing 25 you get access to the first specialization;

At Dragon Isles Blacksmithing 50 you get access to the second specialization;

At Dragon Isles Blacksmithing 75 you get access to the third specialization.

Each Blacksmithing specialization has its own talent tree and Dragon Isles Blacksmithing Knowledge is available to you so you can keep track of your knowledge. At the moment there is no information on how to get these knowledge points, but we can assume that you will get them for world quests and exploring the Dragon Isles. You can also earn extra bonuses for every 5 Knowledge Points you spend on a Specialization Talent, which will help you advance to the next level.
