Do I need to be a specific power level?
For the majority of all Day One and Contest Mode experiences, you had to reach the required power level. But since the release of the Final Shape a Power Leader system was introduced. This system puts your current PL close to the Fireteam leaders, so you won't have to struggle with Power Leveling before your TDP Carries Service.
Will this count toward raid title triumphs?
Absolutely. Many triumphs require a simple completion and Contest Mode counts towards the Seal and Title.
