Osteo Striga is the kind of situations where waiting for later actually pays off. Originally, you could obtain this SMG only by purchasing the Deluxe Edition of the Witch Queen expansion. Even people that already bought the Standard Version of the expansion couldn’t access it or at least buy it separately — they’d basically have to buy the same expansion a second time, just for the weapon.
Now, today, things are much easier, since Osteo Striga is no longer an exclusive content — at least, not to such extend. Pretty much all you have to do to get it now is to complete the Witch Queen story campaign. By the end of the story, you’ll receive the Osteo Striga pattern, which you can use to craft this exotic SMG at the Enclave on Mars. So, all things considered, far from the most difficult weapon to get, though you’d still need to buy the Witch Queen expansion if you don’t already own it to get the exotic.
Osteo Striga is a Toxic Kinetic Submachine Gun, perfect for clearing out large groups of enemies. This gun’s unique exotic perks are Screaming Swarm and Toxic Overload. To keep it simple, Osteo Striga shoots living toxic projectiles that track enemies and poison them, meanwhile all the kills and precision shots that you land release a poison cloud, which spread between the nearby enemies. With the catalyst, you will also be able to get some ammo back into a magazine with each poison final blow.
Osteo Striga considered being one of the best exotics in Destiny 2, at least when your goal is to kill lots of weaker enemies. Its ability to track the opponents and spread poison means that you can easily deal with large hordes of enemies while barely aiming the gun. Once you unlock its catalyst, you also won’t have to reload it much. It can also be really good against the bosses, thanks to its good range and accuracy, combined with poison buildup. All in all, Osteo Striga is absolutely great for PvE content.
Yes! Thankfully, despite the gun being initially locked behind the Deluxe edition of the Witch Queen expansion, Bungie not only kept the gun in the game but also made it much easier to get. You still must own the Witch Queen expansion in order to get this exotic SMG, but as soon as you deal with its questline, the gun can be yours!
It’s actually surprisingly simple. All you have to do is use yout Osteo Striga until you raise it to the level 10, at which point the catalyst will become available. Once you’ve done leveing the SMG up, just head back to the Enclave and reshape the Osteo Striga to slot the catalyst in. Buy destiny 2 Osteo Striga to get the catalyst for this gun!
Some people may encounter a situation where they’ve upgraded their Osteo Striga and are ready to add a catalyst to it, but for whatever reason, the game doesn’t let them do it. If this is the problem you’re facing, the answer is likely one of the following:
Sadly, no. While you no longer have to own the Deluxe version of the Witch Queen DLC, the expansion is still essential in order to get it, since you’re rewarded with Osteo Striga crafting pattern for completion of the Witch Queen storyline. Buy D2 Osteo Striga and we will complete the campaign for you!
The best word to describe Osteo Striga in PvP would be “situational”. The tracking projectiles and poison buildup means that you don’t have to be as accurate with your shots — you can just shoot in the general direction of the enemy, while paying more attention to your movement and surroundings.
On the other hand, the slow projectile speed, combined with the relatively low damage per shot, means that the enemy has plenty of time to take cover from you. The TTK is also quite high. All in all, Osteo Striga is viable in PvP, especially if you’re not very good at aiming, but it’s a PvE weapon first and foremost.
Indeed, when the Witch Queen expansion just came out, Osteo Striga was an exclusive gun, strictly locked behind the Deluxe Edition of the DLC. However, nowadays, owning the regular version of the Witch Queen is more than enough to get your hands on this exotic. And with our destiny 2 Osteo Striga carry service, this weapon can soon become yours!
