Things To Do Before WoW Midnight Key Takeaways:
- Complete all seasonal achievements linked to raids, Mythic+, Delves, and PvP before they become unavailable with WoW Midnight release.
- Collect transmog, cosmetics, and mounts from currently available events before they end.
- Participate in time-limited events like WoW 21st Anniversary and Legion Remix while they are active.
- Wrap up your campaign and renown progress in The War Within.
- Start preparing for WoW Midnight: level up your alts, clean up bags, and spend resources, gather Housing decorations.
What to Do Before WoW Midnight
Before WoW Midnight comes out, you should not just “finish the content,” but get ready in a structured way. Seasons end, events go away, and some rewards disappear forever. To avoid missing out on mounts, transmogs, unique trophies for housing, or even allied race progress, you need to complete key tasks in advance. Here’s what you should do before World of Warcraft Midnight starts:
- Complete all seasonal PvE and PvP achievements.
- Collect all cosmetics and transmog that will be removed when TWW ends.
- Participate in Limited Time Events like Anniversary celebration and Legion Remix.
- Wrap up campaigns and reputation farm.
- Prepare for Midnight expansion: clean the bags and spend resources, level up your alts, and start housing preparations.
There is no official release date for Midnight at the time of writing, but the target is spring 2025. Usually, the pre-patch launches 2–3 weeks before release, which is when Mythic+, rated PvP, and raid seasons end. But we already have a Preparation Bundle, so you’ll be ready for the new expansion whenever it launches.
All Legion Remix trophies and related purchases will be closed. Great Vault and Weekly PvP accruals will end on the day of the patch. Some trophies for the new housing will also disappear, especially those tied to achievements from outgoing events. If collections and exclusives are important to you, this is a critical period.
WoW PvE and PvP Achievements
As always with WoW expansion changes, some rewards will disappear forever. These are The War Within last chance activities that you should not miss:
- Raid Achievements;
- Mythic+ Season Achievements;
- Delves Season Achievements
- Ranked PvP Achievements.
These include Ahead of the Curve, Gladiator, and Keystone Master mounts, unique PvP titles, elite transmog items, temporary currencies, and event achievements.
The War Within Raid Achievements
If you haven’t reached the final boss of the current raid yet, now is the time to do so. The Ahead of the Curve: Dimensius mount, Reins of the Royal Voidwing, is awarded for defeating the final boss on heroic difficulty before Midnight is released. As always, it will disappear forever with the start of the new expansion.
And if you’re aiming for prestige, Cutting Edge: Dimensius, the All-Devouring, for mythic Dimensius kills, will be added to the list of rare Feats of Strength. Also, don’t forget that the Famed Slayer title is only available to the top 100 guilds and will also disappear at the end of the season.
| Achievement Name | Requirement | Notes / Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Ahead of the Curve: Dimensius, the All-Devouring | Defeat Dimensius on Heroic difficulty before the release of the next raid/expansion | Rewards Royal Voidwing; will be permanently unobtainable |
| Cutting Edge: Dimensius, the All-Devouring | Defeat Dimensius on Mythic difficulty before the next raid/expansion | Feat of Strength achievement, will be permanently unobtainable; Unbound Star-Eater will have 1% drop rate in Midnight |
| Famed Slayer of Dimensius | Be among the first 100 guilds per faction to defeat Dimensius on Mythic | Hall of Fame title; will be permanently unobtainable |
Season 1 and Season 2 Raid Achievements
Don’t forget that the last bosses from Season 1 and Season 2 The War Within raids, also count as primary objectives. For instance, killing Mythic Ansurek or Mythic Gallywix can reward you with mounts, whose drop rate will decrease to 1% in WoW Midnight.
| Achievement Name | Requirement | Notes / Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Mythic: Queen Ansurek | Defeat Queen Ansurek in Nerub-ar Palace on Mythic difficulty | <Queenslayer> title; Reins of the Ascendant Skyrazor |
| Mythic: Chrome King Gallywix | Defeat Gallywix in the Liberation of Undermine on Mythic difficulty | <Liberator of Undermine> title; Keys to the Big G |
Killing both bosses is a pain in the back if you haven’t done it previously, as it requires good knowledge of the raid strategy and a good raiding team. However, you don’t need any of it with our Gallywix & Ansurek Mounts bundle. You can save a lot of your time and get the coveted mounts easily.
The War Within Mythic+ Season Achievements
The current Mythic+ season in WoW will end with the Midnight pre-patch. It’s important to gain 2000+ mythic rating to get the The War Within Keystone Master: Season Three mount — Azure Void Flyer. If you don’t do this before the patch, the mount will disappear, and the chance to get it will be gone forever.
In addition, Keystone Hero dungeon portals, as well as seasonal titles and ratings, will be a thing of the past. Don’t forget to spend your Valorstones — they will be devalued and replaced with the new expansion.

Some rewards, including Hal’hadar’s Phasebound Visor, the <Contract Killer> title, and the Mana-Skimmer Hyperdrive customization, will become unavailable after Season 3 Delves end with the release of the Midnight pre-patch.

The same applies to the Vicious Mount of the season (Vicious Void Creeper or Vicious Void Creeper) — it is tied to the victory scale and will disappear after the reset.

WoW Limited Time Events
Before the release of WoW Midnight, several temporary events in the game will either close completely or lose most of their rewards. This applies to current year anniversary activities, holiday events, and temporary modes such as Legion Remix. If you collect mounts, transmogs, toys, or want to keep as many collections as possible before the new expansion, this section is a must-read.
WoW Legion Remix Completion
If you haven’t entered Legion Remix yet, it’s best to do so before Midnight starts. This mode is completely temporary, and it’s here that you can buy a huge selection of mounts, transmogrification items, and rare items for Bronze currency. Among the notable rewards that you can get in Legion Remix are Scythe of the Unmaker and Sargerei Commander’s Ensembles:
- Ensemble: Sargerei Commander’s Felscorned Regalia;
- Ensemble: Sargerei Commander’s Voidscarred Regalia;
- Ensemble: Sargerei Commander’s Lightbound Regalia;
- Ensemble: Sargerei Commander’s Hellforged Regalia.
There’s also a unique achievement that you can only get during the period when Legion Remix is active — Putting the Finite in Infinite.
Many items in Legion Remix require time to farm, so now is the best time to start to be able to buy them, but only until the event ends. When the mode is disabled, all Legion Remix Rewards will disappear and cannot be recovered. This is one of the best ways to farm Bronze and strengthen your collection before the new expansion, so don’t delay.
📌 End Date: January 19, 2026.
WoW Midnight Pre-Patch Events
Almost every major release in WoW is accompanied by a short pre-patch event featuring temporary enemies, quests, and themed rewards. Usually, such events give out unique toys, mounts, or transmogs that disappear completely after the expansion is released.
WoW Midnight is no exception; the event may start a couple of weeks before the release, and it will take place in Twilight Highlands. Keep an eye on Blizzard news and be ready to complete the chain right away, because such rewards always become rare after a couple of months.
The War Within Campaigns and Reputation
It’s important to wrap up key Campaign Storylines and reputations in TWW to make your transition into WoW Midnight smooth. This will help you unlock the Haranir allied race, keep access to unique rewards, and get the most trophies for your new housing. What you should do:
- Complete The War Within storyline.
Completing the TWW finale will allow you to start Midnight without any gaps and to unlock the new Haranir allied race. This guarantees access to all storylines related to the Abyss and Kel’Thalas. - Raise useful renown and reputation.
The War Within faction renown grants mounts, recipes, cosmetics, and items that will be more difficult to farm later. While the add-on is active, progress is much faster and more profitable. - Complete Explorer / Sojourner / All That Khaz.
These meta achievements unlock hidden zone stories, give collection items, and even character screen backgrounds. Some progress may become unavailable after the world enters the Midnight expansion.
Even though some of these activities will be available after The War Within becomes legacy, they will not be as useful as they are now. But above all, completing the TWW Campaign now will grant you access to raids and mythic dungeons. In their turn, these activities allow you to get seasonal rewards which will become unavailable with the new expansion.
How to Prepare for WoW Midnight
With the release of World of Warcraft Midnight, we can expect a new story campaign, ten more levels to grind, Kel’Thalas as a starting zone, fresh raids, and a rework of professions. In addition, the game will receive the long-awaited player housing system, a new allied race, the Harani, and an expansion of Warband progress.
Old zones, quests, and NPCs will be partially changed, and some events will simply disappear. A new PvE/PvP season will begin, storage will be reset, and ratings will be reset. With all these changes, it’s important to have a structured plan for WoW Midnight preparations. Here’s what to focus on:
- Look through your bags and sort out resources that will lose their value in the new expansion.
- Level up your alts to the current level cap to ease the process of leveling in WoW Midnight. Also, you can gear them up.
- Start collecting WoW Housing furniture and decorations via in-game activities and achievements.
- Update all your addons and check the new ones. The Midnight expansion will bring lots of changes to addon usage, so keep an eye on the news.
Spend TWW Resources
Stocking up on the right currencies, getting rid of unused reagents, and finishing all profession quests related to The War Within should be the first step of your WoW Midnight preparations. The cost of many crafting materials will drop, while others will skyrocket in the first few days after the expansion comes out. As a result, saving up Gold is also a reliable strategy before WoW Midnight.
Spending knowledge points, clearing old sparks, and organizing your reagent bags are the first things you can do now to avoid this tiring process in Midnight. You can simply craft and sell items through the auction or vendors to free space in your bags and banks. When new reagents and materials arrive, you’ll have enough empty space to gather them all and store.
Level Up Alt Characters
If you play multiple characters, preparing alts before WoW Midnight really saves time in the early days of the expansion. New content launches quickly, and it’s much more enjoyable to enter Midnight already prepared than to catch up on levels, campaigns, or professions under pressure.
Below is everything you need to do in advance to get each character ready for the launch of the new World of Warcraft Midnight content:
- Bring alts to level 80. This allows you to immediately enter new areas and not spend the first few days of Midnight catching up on leveling.
- Gear alts to a stable baseline. Not top-tier, but enough to get through the first story chains without too much trouble.
- Clean bags and bank. New reagents and quest items will fill your inventory very quickly, so it’s best to free up space in advance.
By the way, Power Leveling can significantly speed up the process of alt preparations. You won’t have to take care of every alt character that you have, as we will do it for you.
Prepare for WoW Housing
With the launch of WoW Midnight, we will finally get a full-fledged housing system. Some of the collections and achievements from previous WoW expansions will start working as trophies and decorative items. To avoid entering Midnight with an empty house, it’s worth gathering a basic set of items and preparing currency in advance:
| Source | Housing Item Unlocked | How to Get It |
|---|---|---|
| More Dots! (25 player) | Onyxia’s Head Trophy | Defeat Onyxia in 25-player mode. The trophy unlocks automatically if the achievement is completed |

| Secrets of Skettis / Explore Spires of Arak Achievements | Glorious Pendant of Rukhmar | Complete the Arak questlines, then purchase the item from Ruuan the Seer |
| Full Caravan (BfA) | Goldshire Food Cart | Finish Fiona’s storyline in BfA (Alliance), then buy the decorative cart from the quest NPC |

| Mechagon Achievements | Mechanical Panels, Tools, Devices | Complete Mechagon achievements and purchase decor using Spare Parts and Oscillators |

| BfA War Campaign | War Maps, Relics, Scrolls | Finish the Battle for Azeroth War Campaign and purchase decor from associated NPCs |
