Mythic+ Dungeons are dungeons that add extra challenge and difficulty to Mythic Dungeons. The difference is that Mythic+ requires Keystone, which level grows with each successfully completed run, granting better rewards and higher ilvl gear.

Mythic+ Season 3 Rotation

First things first: the Timewalking feature, which allows us to experience content from previous expansions, continues in WoW The War Within. This means we will once again delve into old-school dungeons and revisit the long-forgotten boss mechanics. But, not only are pre-existing dungeons once again becoming relevant. We also receive a bundle of brand-new The War Within Mythic+ Dungeons.

The WoW Mythic+ Dungeon pool for Season 3 includes 8 dungeons: 5 new, and 3 dungeons from the previous expansions. Thus, the retrospective on the atmospheric dungeons of Shadowlands should bring warm memories to those who witnessed the events firsthand.

Mythic+ Season 1 Rotation

Mythic+ Keystone Season 3 Changes

So, what will The War Within Season 3 bring us? The latest news and blueposts provided us with a list of changes that we will experience in Mythic+ in the 2nd season of the expansion. The major Mythic+ Keystone Season 2 Changes:

  • Baseline Mythic Dungeons (Mythic 0):
    Reward champion gear, with a one-week lockout.
    Increased enemy life and level of damage proportionate with increased reward, with player starting access retained for Season 2.
  • Adjustments Per Level:
    From Mythic +2 through +10, each new level now increases enemy health and damage by 7%, reduced from the previous 10%. Per-level scaling remains at 10% for Mythic +11 and above.
  • Adjustments Per Affix and Per Level for Affix Rebalancing:
    The Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes have been moved out of +2 and +4, with no additional affixes in the starting first two key levels (+2 and +3).
  • Challenger’s Peril and Xal’atath’s Guile:
    From Mythic +12 Keys, instead of an additional 10% boost in enemy life, Xal’atath’s Guile brings an increased penalty for deaths, which used to be included in Challenger’s Peril.
  • Reward Structure Adjustments:
    The requirements for key reward levels have been reduced. For example:
    Hero-track gear is now available in end-of-run chests from Mythic +6 dungeons.
    The Gilded Crest can be earned from Mythic +7 and over.
  • Keystone Legend Achievement:
    This achievement no longer comes with the mechanism for a “floor” for high-level keystones. Instead, when a player times through them all at Mythic +12, no player under +12 will fall off in a player level of keystones; when a player times through them all at +13, one will have a new +13 become one’s new floor; and for all key level at and over +12, the same principle can be applied.

Mythic+ Keystone System Changes

As we know, Mythic dungeons WoW: The War Within are designed to offer a challenging experience, granting precious rewards like BiS and high ilvl gear in return. The War Within expansion brings us not only new dungeons but also new, reworked affixes and other key changes. The Mythic+ Keystone system carries forward changes from Dragonflight Season 4, with updates to affixes and their introduction points.

Dungeon Difficulty Progression

We consider it worth mentioning that the changes for The War Within dungeons start from Heroic difficulty. Heroic Dungeons are scaled up to be how Mythic 0 Dungeons were before M+ scaling changes.

WoW Season 2 Mythic Plus rewards scale up to level 10, with each level starting from what would have been a +11 in the previous system of Mythic difficulty. Mythic 0 Dungeons are equal to pre-rework Mythic +10, before the scaling. A +5 is as challenging as a +15, and a +10 is as challenging as a +20 in the old system. The changes in Dungeon Difficulty Progression can be described like this:

  • Heroic → Mythic 0;
  • Mythic 0 → Mythic +10;
  • Mythic +5 → Mythic +15;
  • Mythic +10 → Mythic +20.

Other Mythic+ Changes

  • Dungeon ratings remain equivalent to what they represent in the current system.
  • A smaller range of Key levels to find groups for will be used in TWW, resulting in more meaningful progression between each level.

Mythic+ Affix System Season 3 Changes

Challenger’s Peril remains inactive in The War Within Season 3.

So, the Affix system is what adds spice and a layer of complexity to Mythic Dungeons. The higher the level, the stronger the affixes and their effects impact the gameplay. Here’s a brief overview of The War Within Season 3 Mythic+ affixes:

The most important thing to mention is that we still won’t have Challenger’s Peril affix. It will not be present in Season 3. Its effect — the increased timer penalty for deaths — will now be provided by Xal’atath’s Guile.

We still have Positive Effects from affixes. Some of the Xal’atath affixes include positive effects, providing bonuses for different damage types each week. These effects offer advantages without being essential for dungeon completion, encouraging varied gameplay decisions. For instance, our Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes rely on these mechanics. You know how bargains work: you give some, you get some. 

In WoW Season 3 Mythic Dungeons with Xal’atath’s Bargain: Ascendant affix, you’ll occasionally run into Cosmic Ascension orbs empowering nearby enemies, successfully disrupting which will grant your whole group 1% haste and movement speed per stack for 20 seconds, to a maximum of +20% per event. Note that you gotta remove Unstable Power by interrupting casts or applying crowd control on the orbs to defeat them.

New and Retired Affixes

  • Reckless — Non-boss enemies without mana ignore 20% of armor, but have their armor reduced by 30% and take 10% increased Arcane damage.
  • Thorned — Non-boss enemies without mana inflict Physical damage to their attackers but take 10% increased Holy and Shadow damage.
  • Attuned — Non-boss enemies with mana inflict 20% increased magic damage but take 10% increased Nature damage and 30% increased damage from Bleed effects.
  • Focused — Non-boss enemies with mana have 30% increased Haste but take 10% increased Frost and Fire damage.

Mythic+ Season 3 Dungeon Timers

When we speak about dungeons in WoW, we usually come to the question ‘How to do mythic dungeons?’ Aside from gathering a good team and equipping your best gear, you should know about the Mythic+ timer. This timer sets a fixed duration within which players must complete the dungeon to upgrade the keystone. The duration of the timer varies depending on the dungeon and the level of the Mythic+ keystone.

With this in mind, you must remember about Xal’atath’s Guile, which subtracts 15 seconds from the time remaining with each death. Therefore, you should always consider gathering a proper M+ team.

Hitting the timer often becomes a problem if you play with a pack of pugs, so you’ll have to do your best this season. However, with the help of our team you can easily deal even with Mythic +19 dungeons. No randoms and 100% of loot is what you get.

Mythic+ Season 3 Rewards

In Season 3 of The War Within, Mythic+ dungeons once again become a source of valuable and unique rewards and achievements. According to the latest news, Season 3 might be the last one for WoW TWW, so now is the best time to focus on obtaining achievements and rewards that we are going to discuss.

Keystone Hero Achievements

In Season 3 of The War Within, Blizzard prepared additional Keystone Hero Achievements for completing a Mythic Keystone of level 10 or higher within the time limit for each dungeon in The War Within Season 3.

These achievements should be especially valued, as they grant you access to the portals, bringing you to the dungeon entrance. What is even more important is that with the Warbands system, unlocking portals on one character will automatically unlock it for the rest of your band!
