This The War Within Delves guide will walk you through the essentials of Delves, offering a comprehensive look at their unique features, seasonal updates, and the flexible roles of NPC companions. These short, active adventures reframe endgame content, giving players, alone or in groups of up to five, a chance to explore the world of Khaz Algar. What are WoW TWW Delves?
WoW Delves serve as a pillar of endgame content, introduced in The War Within expansion as a new game activity. These brief adventures, lasting about 10-15 minutes, accommodate 1-5 players and do not require strict roles such as a tank or healer. Each Delve is a story set in the region of Khaz Algar and has a WoW Delve companion, such as Brann Bronzebeard, who helps in the story and changes over time.
Delves are special because they connect seamlessly to the game world without loading screens.
Although each Delve is concluded with the treasure, the content of the challenges inside can be different; some of them can be a boss fight, while others are more focused on solving puzzles or jumping between platforms. The content and objectives within a Delve can vary daily, which is good because it will not be repetitive. For instance, a Delve might be in the dark one day and need a source of light to proceed and on another day it might involve helping friends in a fight. You will also need to get a Restored Coffer Key first in order to open a chest and get the Delve’s treasure!
As endgame activities, Delves are similar to raiding and Mythic+ dungeons but are independent in terms of progression.
Delves do not force players to engage in them in order to be competitive in other aspects of the game. From the leveling phase, Delves are available at lower WoW Delves levels and go up to higher levels when the players reach level 80. Our professional players are ready to help you reach the Level Cap as soon as possible. Also, Blizzard has announced a 13th Delve that is considered to be a ‘secret’ one, which makes it even more exciting.
The War Within Delves Levels
Delves fall into tiers, each more challenging than the last, offering greater rewards. Here’s what players can expect from WoW Delves tiers:
- Tier 1-3: These The War Within Delves difficulties are available at launch and are easier levels for players to play to familiarize them with the mechanics of Delves. They are recommended for those who are not so familiar with the idea.
- Tier 4-8: The season begins with the launch of these The War Within Delves tiers. They progressively become more challenging and require increased planning and teamwork. They are suitable for those who have grasped the fundamental concepts and are ready for more complex levels.
- Tier 9-11: The last two tiers, which provide the level of difficulty and loot comparable to high-end Mythic dungeons. These WoW Delves difficulty are designed for the players who want the most challenging and the most rewarding Delves have to offer.
By the way, you can skip the grind and ask our pro players for the Delves’ Completion. Even the highest Tier 9-11 Delves do not scare them, our team knows the strategies and can complete the task in no time.
The War Within Delves Seasons
Like other PvE content in World of Warcraft, delves follow a seasonal model. This means that with the new season, players are going to find a new environment, new challenges, and new rewards to look forward to in the game. The move through the tiers also relates to the general storyline of The War Within, which adds to the game’s narrative and makes it more immersive.
Current Delves Season 3 started on August 12, 2025.
The War Within Delves Companion
The War Within Season 3 Delve companion is Brann Bronzebeard. He can be DPS or Healer, and since Patch 11.1 even a Tank, using abilities that can be changed and upgraded. These abilities improve as he gains levels from completing Delves.
✏️ Note: In Season 3 Brann’s level cap is increased from 80 to 100, and increased leveling speed throughout earlier levels. If you haven’t reach the previous max level, your experience will be adjusted for easier lvl 80 obtaining.
The change in Brann’s role is simple. Players can talk to Brann at any time during TWW delves to change his skills, deciding whether to increase his damage per second or his healing. Depending on the role, Brann Bronzebeard gains a set of abilities to help you in delves. Also, Brann has Combat and Utility curios, working kind of like passives, that you can activate in delves (1 at a time).

Electro-Charged Shotgun: Each enemy hit has a chance to be knocked down. Healing Brann super-charges his shotgun to deal more damage. |
| Neat Rope Trick | When an enemy attacks a player, Brann throws his trusty lasso, pulling the enemy back to him. The same enemy cannot be lassoed more than once within 10 sec. |

Brann Bronzebeard Combat Curios
| Curios | Description |
|---|---|
| Ethereal Energy Converter | When a party member drops below 60% health, an Ethereal Energy Converter materializes, dealing moderate damage to nearby enemies and taunting them for 4 sec. Once the taunt expires, the Converter releases an Etherwave healing nearby allies for 20% of their health. Can be triggered every 2 min. Killing enemies reduces the cooldown of this effect by 2 sec. |
| Hatarang | Brann has a chance to pull out random hats and throw them at his enemies, dealing moderate damage and applying 1 debuff(s) to 2 targets. Possible debuffs include a 20% damage taken increase, 20% damage dealt decrease, and 20% attack and cast speed decrease. |
| Mana-Tinted Glasses | Brann dons mana-tinted glasses while in combat, periodically increasing his damage done by 5% and damage taken by 5% every 5 sec up to 10 times. Dispelling the glasses will heal Brann for 70% of his maximum health and stun nearby enemies for 5 sec. Otherwise this effect is automatically dispelled when Brann drops below 30% health which prevents the stun from occurring. |
| Quizzical Device | Brann has a chance to grant players a 20% bonus to health, damage, or healing for 20 sec based on his selected Combat Role. Players have a chance to grant Brann a 20% bonus to health, damage, or healing for 20 sec based on their selected role. |
| Nether Overlay Matrix | During combat Brann has a chance to manifest a 60% weaker ethereal copy of himself to fight by your side for 1 min. |

| Curios | Description |
|---|---|
| Audio Amplification Crystal | Brann’s voice is tremendously amplified with Arcane magic causing his words to potentially grant the party a buff based on what was spoken. |
| Battered Aegis | While the Aegis is equipped, all party members deal 3% increased damage and healing. Every 10 sec during combat, you and Brann heal for 5% of the damage you’ve taken during that time. When a player dies, the Aegis grants them 1% damage reduction and 2% increased healing received upon revival, but reduces their damage and healing dealt by 1% stacking up to 3 times. |
| Sands of K’aresh | When Brann uses Gathering Tools, sands begin swirling around party members, granting 12% Critical Strike up to 10 times and slowing nearby enemies by 12%. Dealing a Critical Strike creates a Sand Devil at the target’s location for 6 sec that periodically pulls enemies to its center. Can only occur every 45 sec. Gathering Tools: Brann uses his gathering tools to help players find additional gold, ore, herbs, fish, leathers, and treasures. |
| Tailwind Conduit | Generates a burst of speed on exiting combat, increasing your Movement speed by 100% for 10 sec decaying over time. Using a defensive cooldown while in combat has gusts of wind surround you, applying a shield for 8 sec equal to 50% of your missing health. |
| Temporal Decelerator Crystal | Damaging an Elite at 80% or above and at 20% or below health causes Brann to trigger the crystal’s energies, reducing the Elite’s attack and cast speed by 50% for 30 sec. Killing the targeted Elite while the debuff is active grants the party an 8% stacking Haste buff. |
The War Within New Delve Mechanics
WoW The War Within Season 3 brings massive changes to delves’ mechanics, adding tons of new features to explore. With these changes, completing delves will become even more interactive, rewarding, and unpredictable. New mechanics are associated with the addition of the Reshii Wraps cloak in the first place, but that’s not all. Here’s what was added in WoW TWW delves in season 3:
- Ethereal Routing Station;
- Flickergates;
- Curio Containers;
- New Strange Disturbance Vignettes;
- Nemesis Strongbox Affix;
- Delve Trinket Vendor;
- Delve Memories.
Ethereal Routing Station
With the new Reshii Wraps cloak, you can now access secret parts of TWW delves. These secret places are called Ethereal Routing Stations. Basically, in delves, you’ll find portals that can transport you to mini-challenges that unfold like new rooms within delves. There’s one objective within each station, and completing it will open a pass to a treasure room.
There are five types of Ethereal Routing Station encounters available now:
- Dodge Ball;
- Escaped Specimens;
- Invader Duo;
- Boss Rush;
- Ethereals.
📌 Note: The type of reward you get still matches the delve that you originally entered — if it was Bountiful, the station reward will be as well.
Flickergates
While in WoW delves in Season 3, you may see small blue portals known as Flickergates. They function as small loot stashes and most often contain Undercoin, delve drops, or companion experience. They’re not entirely safe, though — there’s a slight chance that activating one will cause Ky’veza’s shadow to appear and attack you. Flickergates will also occasionally open a direct route to an Ethereal Routing Station, giving you a shortcut to more loot.
Curio Containers
Carried over from the previous season of TWW delves, Curio Containers grant temporary power-ups with comedic effects. Some spawn clones of Brann to fight alongside you, others grant mobility like footbombs or buff items like Kaja’cola. Here’s a full list of Season 3 delves Curio Containers:
- Three Dimensional Misprint;
- Damaged Automatic Footbomb Dispenser;
- Damaged Biofuel Rocket Gear;
- Kaja’Cola Carrier.
New Strange Disturbance Vignettes
Strange Disturbances are new events that can now occur in delves in The War Within. Defeating them unlocks passive buffs tied to the type of creature encountered. For example:
- Great Devourer: Hunger from Beyond;
- Mercenary Acquisitionist: Mercenary Contract;
- D’rude: Sandstorm;
- Invasive Phasecrawler: Phaseblood Potion.
Nemesis Strongbox Affix
Starting in Tier 4, delves can roll with the Nemesis Strongbox affix. This modifier adds packs of Ky’veza’s army mobs. Clearing these groups upgrades a special strongbox in your final treasure room:
- Pactsworn Arcanist;
- Pactsworn Sandreaver;
- Pactsworn Fraycaller;
- Pactsworn Wildcaller;
- Pactsworn Dustblade.
Delve Trinket Vendor
If you progress deep enough through the Delver’s Journey (i.e., past the third reward), you’ll unlock Zah’ran, a new trinket vendor. The vendor shows up only at the end of Tier 9+ delves and offers a rotating selection of high-end delve-only ilvl 681 (Champion 1/8) trinkets for 2000 Undercoin. The rotation has twelve unique items and shifts every day, with each item showing up multiple times in a 5-day cycle:
- Void-Touched Fragment;
- Soulbreaker’s Sigil;
- Veiling Mana Shroud;
- Automatic Footbomb Dispenser;
- Manaforged Aethercell;
- Incorporeal Essence-Gorger;
- Essence-Hunter’s Eyeglass;
- Chaotic Nethergate;
- Symbiotic Ethergauze;
- Shadowguard’s Twisted Harvester;
- Mind-Fracturing Odium;
- Twisted Mana Sprite.
Delve Memories
Delves Season 3 brings a surprise social feature. You can now leave “memories” in delves — pre-recorded messages based on classic WoW quotes. You can buy message crystals from Dip Stickshift in the Delver’s HQ for 50 Silver and leave them in the world. Anyone passing by will hear the respective voice line, like Illidan’s “You are not prepared!” or Garrosh’s “I cannot be defeated”:
- Memory of Arthas — “Hope Wanes.”
- Memory of Guldan — “Let the endgame begin!”
- Memory of Putricide — “Great news, everyone!”
- Memory of Suramar — “An illusion! What are you hiding?”
- Memory of Theotar — “Would you care for a spot of tea?”
- Memory of Garrosh — “I cannot be defeated.”
- Memory of Illidan — “You are not prepared!”
- Memory of Saurfang — “I’m too old for this nonsense.”
- Memory of Sylvanas — “Too easy.”
- Memory of Thrall — “Lok’tar ogar!”
On top of that, whenever someone dies on a delve, their tombstone remains behind. You can click on it to view what killed them, as well as when. It’s a nice way to feel connected to others, even in solo content.
The War Within Delver’s Race
Ever wanted to compete against another faction, but during delves? The War Within Season 3 adds a competitive twist to delves with a brand-new faction race between the Horde and Alliance. You can now contribute to your side’s progress by completing delves, with each faction filling up a bar inside the delver’s headquarters.
The first faction to complete their progress bar will see their flag flown in the hub and unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards. These include a faction-colored decal for the Delver’s Dirigible mount. Alliance players can earn a blue finish and lion decal, while Horde loyalists will unlock a bold red skin and emblem to match their banner.

How to Complete The War Within Delves?
Completing WoW Delves offers a structured yet flexible approach, allowing you to explore each scenario at your own pace. There are no specific WoW Delves Season 3 requirements, except for being level 80. Delves are 10-15-minute adventures, and you can do them as many times as you want per day, but the rewards get progressively smaller after the first completion per day. The developers plan to add The War Within Delves rotation, although this system is still being finalized.
When you start a Delve, you encounter objectives such as rescuing trapped Earthen miners, avoiding enemy traps, killing a certain number of enemies, solving puzzles, and succeeding in platforming segments. Each Delve ends with a final confrontation, which could be in the form of a boss fight or other related activities, before you are led to the treasure room.
Your NPC companion is one of the key components of World of Warcraft Delves. They get to learn with each Delve and become better with each level that they progress through. This progression does not only increase the efficiency of your WoW trusty Delve companion but also its importance in the completion of your missions.
The War Within Delves Tips And Tricks
Here’s how you can optimize your Delve experience:
- Pacing and Exploration: As there is no time limit, make sure you are taking enough time to complete all objectives of each Delve without rushing.
- Companion Interaction: Interact with your partner’s skills and let them work with the environment to collect resources. These materials can be very helpful on your path.
- Utilizing Abilities: Keep an eye out for webbed treasure chests and elite enemies. Defeat them to gain temporary, stackable abilities that will enhance your performance in the Delve.
- Curios: Locate and gather Curios, unique objects that improve your companion’s stats and combat performance when worn.
- Resource Management: Before the last battle, use the checkpoint stone to save the game. The vendor station located nearby is used to fix equipment and purchase additional items in case of the final task.
If you manage these elements properly, you can get the most out of every Delve and make every run in The War Within worthwhile.

How To Start The War Within Delves?

Start of WoW Delves is an exhilarating way to dive into the heart of Khaz Algar’s intricately crafted zones. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you begin your Delve adventures in this sprawling fantasy world:
- Locating Delves: Look at the main map and mini-map and look for a special symbol of a door to enter the Delve.
- Meet Your NPC Companion: Your NPC companion waits for you at every Delve entrance, marked by a foggy barrier. In Season 1, this is Brann Bronzebeard. Communicating with Brann lets you define his position, view his skills, and control his useful and fighting gadgets. As for the following seasons, new NPC friends from the Dragonscale Expedition will be available.
- Setting Up Your NPC: To begin a Delve, you have to talk to your NPC teammate. This allows you to set up their equipment. This preparation is key to handling the challenges that lie within each Delve.
- Choose Your Difficulty: Delves have 11 tiers of difficulty, and the first release of The War Within includes tiers 1-3. In the course of Season 1, tiers 4-11 will be opened. The difficulty you choose will not only define the complexity of the Delve but also the rewards and experience you are going to get. Every tier includes new modifiers that make your journey more difficult and bring something new to your adventure.
- Enter the Delve: Once you’ve chosen your tier and set up your NPC, go through the fog that is located at the entrance. This is the start of the Delve, where you will confront various tests based on the chosen difficulty level.
- Progressing Through Tiers: The successful completion of a Delve opens up the next level of difficulty for the whole Warband. This progressive unlocking mechanism ensures you stay engaged as you Delve deeper into the mysteries of Khaz Algar.
