Hello, folks. Today we’re having a simple but interesting meal to prepare. If you haven’t tried Sauteed Carrots from World of Warcraft Official Cookbook, you should it now.
Recipe of Sauteed Carrots from World of Warcraft Official Cookbook
Ingredients:
— 500 g carrots. You’d better take baby carrots, but you can also consider taking small carrots or cutting big root crops into 4 long pieces;
— 2 tablespoons butter;
— 1 tablespoon soy sauce;
— 1 tablespoon honey. If you want a more intense flavor, add 2 tablespoons;
— 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped ginger;
— chives;
— sesame (optional);
— a sprig of thyme or rosemary (optional).
Cooking:
1. Pour some water into a pot and bring to a simmer. Salt. Add washed and peeled carrots and brew them in the boiling water during 7-8 minutes. Before taking off of the fire taste a carrot. It should be soft on the outside and somewhat bouncy on the inside. Don’t overdo;
2. Warm up the butter in a frying pan. If you use rosemary, put it now in the pan and remove after a few minutes. Add the carrots and pour the soy sauce. Cook on a medium heat until the sauce starts bubbling. Keep on cooking for 2 more minutes. Don’t forget to shake the pan from time to time to have all the ingredients well stirred;
3. Add the honey and ginger. Keep on cooking and shaking for 2-3 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and covers the carrots;
4. When on a plate, sprinkle the carrots over with chives and sesame.
The carrots are good as the main course, but I prefer them as a garnish. I like the meal for its salty-sweet balanced flavor and for the soft texture. Try cooking the sauteed carrots yourselves and share the photos!
