Midnight Tailoring Overview

Midnight Tailoring Guide

Midnight Tailoring is a crafting profession that focuses on working with cloth materials. Silvermoon Tailoring allows you to craft cloth armor, bags, profession accessories, reagents, and spellthreads that improve pants with permanent bonuses. It is also the main source of crafted gear for cloth-wearing classes.

Additionally, Midnight Tailoring expands into new areas like Player Housing decor, so you can craft items such as beds, carpets, pillows, and banners to decorate your home. The profession can also be very good for making gold by crafting gear through Work Orders and selling bags. Because of its variety of crafts and high demand, Tailoring is a profitable profession throughout all of the expansion.

Knowledge Points are extremely important for progressing Midnight Tailoring, so make sure to not fall behind other players and do your weekly Tailoring activities. However, if you don’t have time, we can handle it for you!

Midnight Tailoring Updates

Most of the Tailoring in Midnight remains very similar to what players used in The War Within. If you already played the profession in the previous expansion, the overall crafting process, specializations, and progression will feel familiar. However, a few important adjustments were made to simplify crafting and improve the profession experience.

Midnight Tailoring Changes include:

  • Artisan Tailor’s Moxie: The old profession currency Artisan’s Acuity has been replaced with Artisan Tailor’s Moxie, which is now used only for Tailoring-related recipes and upgrades.
  • No More Bronze Quality Reagents: Reagents and consumables now only come in Silver and Gold quality. Bronze quality has been removed, making crafting simpler and guaranteeing at least Silver-quality results.
  • Epic Profession Gear: New Epic-quality Tailoring tools and accessories are available and provide better secondary stats than Rare gear, while still giving the same base Skill bonus.
  • No More Unraveling: The old system that required turning cloth into spools before crafting has been removed, reducing unnecessary crafting steps.

Overall, these Midnight Tailoring updates make the profession easier to manage and faster to use.

Midnight Tailoring Materials

With every new expansion, professions receive new materials from the latest zones and activities. WoW Midnight Tailoring resources mainly come from cloth dropped by humanoid enemies or from other players through the Auction House. These materials are used to craft cloth gear, bags, spellthreads, and other Tailoring items.

Midnight Tailoring Equipment

WoW Tailoring equipment is tools and accessories that improve your crafting performance. These items increase your Tailoring Skill and provide useful secondary stats such as Resourcefulness, Ingenuity, Crafting Speed, and Multicraft. Having good profession equipment in Midnight makes it easier to craft higher-quality items and can help save materials while crafting.

Tailoring equipment includes:

As you progress through the Tailoring profession, you can also obtain higher-quality Epic accessories. These items provide the same base Skill as Rare gear but offer stronger secondary stats, which makes crafting faster and more efficient. Upgrading your Tailoring equipment over time will make both crafting and goldmaking easier.

Best Professions to Pair With Tailoring

Tailoring in WoW Midnight works well with many other professions because you do not need a gathering profession to get cloth. Cloth drops from humanoid enemies while you play the game, so you can collect materials naturally while questing, doing dungeons, or farming mobs. Because of this, you are free to choose another profession that helps with crafting or making gold.

Best Professions for Midnight Tailoring:

  • Enchanting: A very common choice. You can disenchant the gear you craft with Tailoring to get enchanting materials.
  • Skinning: Useful for players who farm enemies often and want extra materials to sell.
  • Herbalism: A good goldmaking profession that lets you gather herbs while exploring zones.
  • Mining: Another strong gathering profession that provides a steady income from ore.

Overall, we would recommend Enchanting as the best profession for Midnight Tailoring. This is mostly because it works very well with Tailoring crafts. However, gathering professions are also a good option if you want to focus more on making gold.

Best Race for the Tailoring Profession

When choosing the best race for Tailoring in WoW Midnight, racial bonuses are usually not very important. Most races do not have a special ability that directly improves Tailoring, so the profession works almost the same for every character. Because of this, players can safely choose any race they like without worrying about losing major advantages. If you want to optimize even the smallest benefit, then there is one best race for Midnight Tailoring:

  • Kul Tiran (Alliance): Provides a small bonus of +2 skill to all primary professions, including Tailoring. This can slightly help with crafting quality and leveling the profession.

📌 Any other race will also work fine, since the benefit from the Kul Tiran passive is minuscule.

Best Class for the Tailoring Profession

There is no single best class for Tailoring in WoW Midnight because any class can learn and use the profession. Tailoring mainly focuses on crafting cloth armor, bags, and other useful items, so it works well with many different playstyles. However, it is especially useful for classes that wear cloth armor since they can craft and upgrade their own gear.

Classes that benefit the most from Midnight Tailoring include:

  • Mage: A cloth class that can craft its own gear and bags while leveling or gearing up.
  • Warlock: Another cloth-wearing class that benefits from crafted armor and spellthreads.
  • Priest: Can craft cloth gear and useful upgrades for both healing and damage builds.

Overall, cloth-wearing classes get the most value from Tailoring because they can directly use the gear they craft. That said, any class can still benefit from Tailoring through bags, goldmaking, and other crafted items.
