Blizzard has officially confirmed the return of the Greedy Emissary event in World of Warcraft, running from July 1, 2025, through August 1, 2025. This limited-time event arrives with Patch 11.1.7 Legacy of Arathor, bringing more crossover content to celebrate Blizzard’s connected universes.
The event window gives you a full month to track down unique rewards by hunting enemies across Azeroth. It’s timed to overlap with Diablo IV seasonal updates. Unlike previous seasonal events, there are no level restrictions or lockouts, so even your alts can participate freely. But you still can Level Up your favorite side characters fast and easy with the help of our team.
What is Greedy Emissary?
WoW Greedy Emissary is not just another world event; it’s also a crossover event between World of Warcraft and Diablo IV. This is a seasonal activity where you must hunt down Treasure Goblins to obtain rare loot. These goblins are invading Azeroth through Demonic Portals that appear across the map.
Here’s how the Greedy Emissary works in WoW Patch 11.1.7:
- A yellow portal icon on your map marks Demon Portals.
- Each portal stays open for 5 minutes, after which a Treasure Goblin spawns.
- These goblins drop Diablo-themed cosmetics, pets, and transmog items when defeated.
It’s a fast-paced event with no weekly resets or participation limits, so it’s perfect for farming with friends or just hopping into the chaos solo.

How to Find Treasure Goblin in WoW
If you’re farming WoW Treasure Goblins in the Greedy Emissary event, you’ll need to know exactly where and when to look. These goblins spawn from golden Demonic Portals that appear on your map at set intervals.
Demonic Portals spawn every 30 minutes, precisely at the top and half past the hour (e.g., 13:00, 13:30, 14:00). After the portal appears, a Treasure Goblin spawns 5 minutes later in the same zone. Be ready to engage fast as these goblins don’t stick around for long.
WoW Treasure Goblin spawn locations by city:
- Stormwind — The Portal usually appears by the Stormwind Docks near the water.
- Orgrimmar — Look outside the main gate, just before the city entrance.
- Dornogal — The portal spawns southeast of the city, past the training dummies.

The best thing about the Greedy Emissary event in WoW is its rewards. In Patch 11.1.7, you will be able to obtain Warbound HD recolors of Tier 2 Sets (which come in tokens) for 40 Hellstone Shards. Each class in WoW receives its tier set:

WoW Greedy Emissary New Currency
During the Greedy Emissary event in WoW you will farm an event currency — Hellstone Shards. Basically, Hellstone Shards are a new currency that lets you buy HD Tier 2 recolor sets for all 13 classes. Other rewards are also available, so you will get a chance to get nostalgic armor looks for your collection.
How to farm Hellstone Shards quickly in Patch 11.1.7? You need to hunt down Treasure Goblins in their spawn locations. Alternatively, you can leave this task to our pro players, who will farm you any amount of Hellstone Shards really fast.
WoW New Treasure Goblin Affixes
To make the event more challenging, Blizzard added new Treasure Goblin affixes to the Greedy Emissary. From now on, each Treasure Goblin spawns with two affixes that empower it. Moreover, it is up to players to decide which affix the goblin will have: throwing Elixirs into the demon portal will determine the affix.

These Elixirs can be obtained from a Hellcaller Chest that drops from Treasure Goblins. Aside from Elixirs, you can find Valorstones or Hellstone Shards in the chest.
WoW Collector’s Bounty
As a part of the Greedy Emissary, starting July 1, WoW TWW Patch 11.1.7 introduces Collector’s Bounty, an event mechanic that buffs loot in legacy dungeons and raids. Enemies in old content will now drop extra treasure, so it is a great time for you to revisit those forgotten corners of Azeroth.
