Azerite Fifth Ring
The Second Season of the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth has begun after the releasing of the Tides of Vengeance Patch. This new Patch has brought multiple changes in many game aspects including Azerite system.
We will touch every Azerite system innovation in this or that extent starting with the most significant one – the Fifth outer Ring of Talents which adds two new Azerite Traits to each character’s specialization so it will be six in total. Every single epic piece of Azerite armor with the Item Level 370 and higher that Players may obtain in the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid, in the Season 2 Dungeons, or during the Season 2 PvP battles as well as those parts which can be a reward for the Emissary Quests, will have the Fifth Ring related to the character’s current specialization.
Those who prefer to play for Druids and Demon Hunters please take into consideration the fact that the number of Azerite Traits for your Fifth Ring will be different according to the number of specializations these classes have. Demon Hunter:
Unbound Chaos was replaced by Chaotic Transformation;
Gaping Maw changed into Hour of Reaping.
Druid:
Untamed Ferocity was replaced by Untamed Ferocity;
Jungle Fury replaced by Jungle Fury;
Fungal Essence has been changed into Early Harvest;
Sunblaze changed into Arcanic Pulsar;
Craggy Bark changed into Burst of Savagery.
Hunter:
Pack Alpha was replaced by Dire Consequences;
Arcane Flurry changed into Surging Shots;
Up Close And Personal changed into Primeval Intuition.
Mage:
Anomalous Impact was replaced by Equipoise;
Winter’s Reach changed into Flash Freeze;
Preheat changed into Wildfire.
Monk:
Niuzao’s Blessing was replaced by Straight, No Chaser;
Meridian Strikes changed into Dance of Chi-Ji;
Iron Fists has been changed into Fury of Xuen;
Invigorating Brew changed into Secret Infusion;
Swift Roundhouse changed into Glory of the Dawn.
Paladin:
Periodic Bleed has changed into Light’s Decree;
Divine Right changed into Empyrean Power;
Dauntless Divinity has been changed into Righteous Conviction;
Martyr’s Breath changed into Glimmer of Light.
Priest:
Sacred Flame was replaced by Promise of Deliverance;
Gift of Forgiveness changed into Sudden Revelation;
Thought Harvester changed into Thought Harvester.
Rogue:
Sharpened Blades was replaced by Replicating Shadows;
Poisoned Wire has changed into Nothing Personal;
Fan of Blades changed into Echoing Blades.
Shaman:
Rumbling Tremors was replaced by Tectonic Thunder;
Ebb and Flow has changed into Turn of the Tide;
Lightning Conduit changed into Thunderaan’s Fury.
Warlock:
Forbidden Knowledge has been replaced by Baleful Invocation;
Accelerant was replaced by Chaos Shards;
Deathbloom replaced by Pandemic Invocation.
Warrior:
Reinforced Plating was replaced by Bastion of Might;
Trample the Weak has changed into Unbridled Ferocity;
Bloodcraze changed into Cold Steel, Hot Blood;
Executioner’s Precision changed into Striking the Anvil.
Not only were old Traits changed; the newest Patch has also brought several new Traits. Some of them are presented on the new Raid gear and others on the new Warfront armor.
These are Bwonsamdi themed Traits available on Azerite Armor pieces from the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid:
Bonded Souls – your spells and abilities have a chance to trigger a Soulbond for 15 seconds. During Soulbond, every 5 seconds you and your nearest ally are both healed for 8769 of Health and gain 229 Haste for 5 seconds.
Seductive Power – your spells and abilities have a chance to conjure Bwonsamdi’s spectral visage, beckoning you closer. If you approach him, you will gain 66 to all Stats for 5 minutes, stacking up to 5 times. If you fail to heed his call, you will lose one stack.
Treacherous Covenant – your primary stat is increased by 384 while you are above 50% of Health. You take 15% increased damage while below 20% of Health.

Below are the Night Elves (A) and the Forsaken (H) themed Traits available on Azerite Armor pieces from Battle for Darkshore Warfront:
Ancients’ Bulwark (A) – standing still grants you Deep Roots, increasing your Versatility by 179. Moving instead grants you Uprooted, healing you for 259 every second.
Shadow of Elune (A) – your spells and abilities have a chance to increase your Haste by 465 for 15 seconds. At night, you also gain 10% movement speed for the duration.
Apothecary’s Concoctions (H) – your damaging abilities have a chance to deal 1263 Plague damage over 6 seconds, and your healing abilities have a chance to restore 2415 of Health over 6 seconds. These effects are increased by up to 100% based on the target’s missing health.
Endless Hunger (H) – your Versatility is increased by 179. Moving near an enemy’s corpse consumes their essence, restoring 1815 of Health.
Artifact Leveling
There are even more changes in the Azerite system that we wanted to tell you about. The first of them apply to the rising of the reputation with the Champions of Azeroth faction. Every time a Player reaches a new reputational status with this faction he or she gets a special quest and a possibility to increase the level of Artifact after its completion. The latest Patch has changed the requirements needed to get those quests. Now you don’t need to work hard on each of your characters for all of your Alts will automatically get additional 45 Item Levels to their Artifact as soon as they reach level 120 in case your main character has already the Exalted Reputation status.

The second change relates to the amount of time that is usually needed to get a 50% discount to the cost of the Azerite Armor reforge. It has been 72 hours before and now it is reduced to 24 hours.
Increased Stamina
Despite the lack of information in official Patch Notes concerning the following fact, it looks like the Azerite Armor from the Season 2 has 20% more Stamina than the gear with the same Item Level from the Season 1. A very peculiar way to reduce the quality of the armor from the previous content so be ready to change your gear.
Azerite Unlock Levels
Two new Item Level marks have appeared in the Season 2 as well – 400 and 415. The higher is the Item Level of a concrete piece of armor, the higher must be the level of your Artifact to unlock the corresponding Azerite Traits. But may this not upset you too much because the Artifact Knowledge have proceeded with the release of the new Patch which means it will be easier to raise new Artifact levels from week to week. Titan Residuum

There isn’t any Azerite Armor in the weekly Mythic+ Chests anymore, but instead of it in addition to the standard loot Players will be granted with a new currency – Titan Residuum powder to buy that Azerite Armor later.
Titan Residuum may be obtained in the following ways:
- By scrapping or Disenchanting the epic quality Azerite Armor of your Armor Class with the Item Level 340 or higher;
- By finding a certain amount of this currency in the weekly Mythic Keystone Chest;
- By completing Elite Missions. These missions are randomly obtained when using Treasure Maps from Island Expeditions; the reward is in between 15 and 25 of Titan Residuum and only in case the mission was successful.
Scrapping or Disenchanting Azerite Armor gives you some amount of Titan Residuum based on Item Level of an initial piece of gear:

As you may have noticed the difference between the ninth and the tenth Keystone is enormous, so if you seriously plan to use this powder to buy certain items, you have to complete Mythic+10 or even higher Keystone Dungeons every week.

After you have gathered the amount of Titan Residuum of your interest you can finally start spending it. The Azerite armor selling NPC Thaumaturge Vashreen is located in the capital city of your faction – Dazar’alor for the Horde Players and Boralus for the Alliance representatives. Players can buy either a completely random item with a certain Item Level or a particular Item of their choice but they must be ready to pay more in such a case.
