Gear and Azerite Loot

Battle of Dazar’alor is the second Raid in a new expansion for World of Warcraft that calls Battle for Azeroth. The Raid consists of nine encounters, each of which has valuable loot as a reward. The bosses order of appearance and some visual components are different for the Horde and the Alliance players. An interesting note: combats with some bosses occur in a flashback format which leads to faction and race changes including racial abilities right inside the Raid. The similar system is used in Mercenary Mode for PvP battles.
These are all nine Boss encounters of the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid:
- Champion of the Light – Frida Ironbellows (for the Horde Players) or Ra’wani Kanae (for the Alliance Players);
- Grong the Jungle Lord (Horde) or Jadefire Masters – Ma’ra Grimfang and Anathos Firecaller (Alliance);
- Jadefire Masters – Manceroy Flamefist and the Mestrah (Horde) or Grong the Revenant (Alliance);
Alliance Flashbacks (Horde becomes Alliance):
Horde Flashbacks (Alliance becomes Horde)
Below we will have a detailed view on the loot items from the whole Raid; they will be organized in a form of convenient tables, according to their types and bosses which drop this or that item.
Gear Overview
The basic gear Item Level changes depending on the difficulty of the Raid and is the following:
Looking for Raid (LFR): 370+
Normal: 385+
Heroic: 400+
Mythic: 415+
Players may obtain the same piece of armor but with an increased index of Item Level as well – this is a well-known scheme that is being used for quite some time already. A particular piece of armor becomes Warforged if its Item Level is five or ten points higher than the common one. In case the standard Item Level has increased up to 15 points, this armor considers being Titanforged. The maximum Item Level of Titanforged pieces of armor in Mythic difficulty of the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid is 425. Unfortunately, the weapon gear may be tempered only up to ten Item Level points, and at the same time the Azerite armor doesn’t have such an opportunity at all.
Each class and each specialization require the unique handling to the needed equipment sets. In this situation, we would recommend the usage of the special services, such as SimulationCraft or Raidbots which will help the Player to provide a Character Simulation.
Set Bonuses
The complete Raid Sets bonuses were abolished with the Battle for Azeroth Expansion release. Now there are smaller raid sets that may consist of just a few pieces. There are two such sets available in a new Raid each with an additional positive effect; both of them include only two pieces of armor.
Keepsakes of the Resolute Commandant (0/2) that consists of:
Lord Admiral’s Signet and Daelin Proudmoore’s Saber.
Drop: Lady Jaina Proudmoore.
Set Bonus: Your auto-attacks are tinged with the rime of the high seas, dealing 231 Frost damage to your target and reducing their movement speed by 10% for 4 seconds.
Gift of the Loa (0/2) includes:
Seal of the Zandalari Empire that is dropped by the King Rastakhan;
Loa Exultant’s Shroud – a drop from the Conclave of the Chosen.
Set Bonus: Your primary stat is increased by 150 while you are in Zuldazar.
Unique Effects
Some Raid looting Items may grant a Player with additional passive effects, such as:
Twin-Pipe Buster Cannon – your attacks have a chance to fire a Buster Shot dealing Nature damage to your target.
Drop: High Tinker Mekkatorque
Fogbreaker, Light of the Sea – lessens the effects of Howling Winds while battling Lady Jaina Proudmoore. The intermission phase has now become more visible, which makes it easier to find Jaina in the storm.
Drop: Lady Jaina Proudmoore
High Tinker’s Cape – increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 5 points. There is an additional bonus for Gnomes on this item, reducing an Escape Artist Cooldown by 10 seconds.
Drop: High Tinker Mekkatorque
Mech-Jockey Grips – you move 20% faster while piloting a mount created by an Engineer. This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects.
Drop: High Tinker Mekkatorque
Boots of the Gilded Path – looting gold increases your movement speed by 30% for 6 seconds.
Looting gold, silver or even copper coins triggers the effect, which might be extremely useful during solo runs in old raids and dungeons.
Drop: Opulence Treasure Guardian
Crest of Pa’ku – your spells have a chance to increase your Haste by 467 and your Speed by 79 for 15 seconds. Upon use: fly to a nearby Totem of Pa’ku. Only usable outdoors in Dazar’alor. This effect is on a 20 minutes Cooldown and only presented on the Horde version of the Trinket.
Drop: Conclave of the Chosen
The new types of crowns which may be looted from Opulence Treasure Guardian are worth mentioning separately.
Crown of the Seducer, Crown of A’akul’s Dark Reign, Electrified Crown of Rahu’ai and Crown of Bloody Succession.
These crowns are not only beautiful; wearing one of them means that players may create a gem that will remain in your inventory up to twenty hours before it disappears.
There are six different gems out of the crowns on the whole:
Sunset Amber – reduces a party member’s size by 50% for 5 minutes (30 seconds Cooldown).
Star Topaz – makes a friendly player sparkle (30 seconds Cooldown);
Crackling Tourmaline – increases your Speed by 120 for 1 hour. (1 Minute Cooldown).
Emerald of Vigor – restores 33251 of Health (1 Minute Cooldown). Note, that this Cooldown is shared with healing potions.
Diamond of Sustenance – draws sustenance from the gem, restoring 166257 of Health and 83129 of Mana over 20 seconds. If you spend at least 10 seconds focusing on the gem, you will become well fed and gain 75 in a stat for 1 hour.
Sapphire of Brilliance – increases all stats by 400 for 1 Minute (5 minutes Cooldown). Shares a one minute Cooldown with other Combat Potions.
Transmogrification
There aren’t any Class armor sets in the Battle for Azeroth unfortunately, so there are not any unique Class transmogrification sets as well. But every type of armor whether it is Cloth, Leather, Mail or Plate has its own Set that matches the corresponding Raid. In this concrete Battle of Dazar’alor Raid, the main fashion designer is Bwonsamdi himself, whose dark obscure influence may be found in almost everything. Deep somber colors, ghostly and spectral glow, bones, skulls, feathers, and fangs are the basic components of these armor sets.
There is as always a color variation in the armor sets from the different levels of difficulty in a Raid. And, of course, the Mythic difficulty set is far more detailed and has several extra visual effects.

Not only Armor Sets are notable in the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid. There are many incredible looking Weapons here as well. We will have a complete list of them below, but here are several most extraordinary ones.
The Champion of the Light drops beautiful glowing Sunburst Crest and Dawnbreaker.
Grong may accidentally lose one of his extremities: Bonelash Paw or Cursed Monkey Palm. Halloween is on its way!
High Tinker Mekkatorque may be generous enough to present you with rather hungry Apetagonizer’s Claw.
Those who have a calling for being a part of a royal family may try on one of the Zandalari Empire crowns, which were mentioned earlier. All crowns look alike, the only difference though is a colour spectrum which greatly differs depending on the Raid difficulty level.

Cloth: Crown of the Seducer;
Leather: Crown of A’akul’s Dark Reign;
Mail: Electrified Crown of Rahu’ai;
Plate: Crown of Bloody Succession.
All crowns drop from Opulence Treasure Guardian.

Azerite Armor
There are three gear slots which have Azerite Traits; these are Helms, Shoulders, and Chests. The Azerite Traits have a huge influence on gameplay in this Expansion; they deal damage, heal, they give additional characteristics; change the basic principles of class abilities, etc.
The characteristics of the Azerite armor had slightly changed since the start of a new in-game Season 2. Some Traits had been reworked, but the most meaningful innovation was the appearance of the Fifth Ring of Talents that adds two new Azerite Traits to each character’s specialization. Every single piece of Azerite armor with the Item Level more than 370 that Players will obtain in the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid, in the Season 2 Dungeons, or during the Season 2 PvP battles as well as those parts which can be a reward for the Emissary Quests, will have the Fifth Ring. The Heart of Azeroth Level 15 is needed for this.
Each type of armor has nine pieces of Azerite gear – three parts for each equipment slot (Head, Shoulders, Chest). Every Raid Boss has one piece of Azerite armor in its loot table for each class.
Cloth Azerite Armor:
Helm | Shoulder | Chest |
Blazewing Hood, drop from Jadefire Masters; Crown of the Seducer, drop from Opulence Treasure Guardian; Cowl of Tideborne Omens, drop from Stormwall Blockade. | Bristling Fur-Lined Amice, drop from Grong; Mantle of the Skyterror, drop from Conclave of the Chosen; Giga-Charged Shoulderpads, drop from High Tinker Mekkatorque. | Divine Fury Raiment, drop from Champion of the Light; Vestments of the Afterlife, drop from King Rastakhan; Robes of Biting Cold, drop from Lady Jaina Proudmoore. |

As long as the variety of Azerite armor impresses the imagination, one may find it rather hard to sort out the most convenient gear for him or herself. One of the ideal instruments for such purposes are special Programs like SimulationCraft or Raidbots which help the user to compare different gear parts including Trinkets to find the best decision for the concrete specialization of a concrete class. You may familiarize yourself with our complete guide to the SimulationCraft to learn more about this service.
Battle of Dazar’alor Azerite Traits
One of the Talents in the Azerite Armor’s Fourth Ring, in case it was obtained in the Raid, is connected with the raid subject-matter.
This might be one of the following:
Bonded Souls – your spells and abilities have a chance to trigger a Soulbond for 15 seconds. During Soulbond, every 5 seconds you and your nearest ally are both healed for 8769 of Health and gain 229 Haste for 5 seconds.
Seductive Power – your spells and abilities have a chance to conjure Bwonsamdi’s spectral visage, beckoning you closer. If you approach him, you will gain 66 to all Stats for 5 minutes, stacking up to 5 times. If you fail to heed his call, you will lose one stack.
Treacherous Covenant – your primary stat is increased by 384 while you are above 50% of Health. You take 15% increased damage while below 20% health.
Weapons

Weapons are fundamental parts of the equipment for the overwhelming majority of classes and specializations; this is brightly illustrated by the damage, the weapon deals to a target. There is a convenient table below that will help a Player to classify his or her needs so they could learn which boss requires special attention and is worth saving a Bonus Loot Coin.
Champion of the Light | Desecrated Blade of the Disciples – Dagger (Intellect) Dawnbreaker – Two-Handed Sword Sunburst Crest – Shield |
Grong | Bonelash Paw – Fist Weapon Cursed Monkey Palm – Offhand Hornridged Crusher – Polearm |

High Tinker Mekkatorque | Twin-Pipe Buster Cannon – Gun. Instead of having secondary stats, attacks with this gun have a chance to fire a Buster Shot dealing Nature damage. Apetagonizer’s Claw – One-Handed Mace |
Stormwall Blockade | Storm-Toothed Kasuyu – One-Handed Axe (Agility) Crash of Tides – Two-Handed Axe Docksplitter Siege Hook – Polearm Blockade Bulwark – Shield Siren’s Song – Wand |
Lady Jaina Proudmoore | Fogbreaker, Light of the Sea – Offhand. Lessens the effects of Howling Winds while battling Jaina, makes the intermission phase more visible. Daelin Proudmoore’s Saber – One-Handed Sword. This is a part of the Keepsakes of the Resolute Commandant set. If combined with Lord Admiral’s Signet gives a set bonus: your auto attacks are tinged with the rime of the high seas, dealing 220 Frost damage to your target and reducing their movement speed by 10% for 4 seconds. |
