There is almost no choice of paths in the dungeon for the players to take, and there is a definite path to be followed from the beginning of the dungeon to the end where the last boss resides.

Rav’i

Altar of Fangs Guide

The Rav’i boss fight in Altar of Fangs is mostly about managing Carrion Piles, avoiding incoming attacks, and stopping the boss from healing. Rav’i uses the bodies around the arena to recover health and gain additional power, so players need to control when and how the boss feeds.

Altar of Fangs Rav’i Mechanics:

  • Carrion Piles: Rav’i uses these piles to feed and gain a protective shield. Keep an eye on which piles contain Fresh Meat.
  • Fresh Meat: Created by falling debris and causes Rav’i to enter Feeding Frenzy if consumed.
  • Messy Eater: Avoid meat chunks thrown around the arena, as they deal damage on impact and create additional Carrion Burst effects if ignored.
  • Regurgitate: Move out of the acid waves and avoid standing in their path.
  • Triple Shot: Healers should prepare for damage over time effects placed on multiple players.

The Writhing Coil

Altar of Fangs Guide

The Writhing Coil boss in Altar of Fangs focuses on controlling the boss during its main form and managing the smaller snakes that appear after it is uncoiled. You also need to interrupt its abilities, avoid attacks, and quickly deal with the smaller enemies before they overwhelm the group.

Altar of Fangs The Writhing Coil Mechanics:

  • Vine Grip: Players must move away from the boss together to trigger Uncoil.
  • Death Rattle: Interrupt this dangerous channel by forcing the boss into the Uncoiled phase.
  • Uncoiled: Control and defeat the smaller snakes before they reach players.
  • Toxic Atrophy: Avoid letting this stacking effect build too high, as it reduces damage and movement speed.
  • Tail Scythe: Tanks should face the boss away from the group to avoid unnecessary damage.

Zul’jan

Altar of Fangs Guide

Zul’jan is the final boss in Altar of Fangs. During the fight, Zul’jan uses Ritual of the Fang to empower the Fang of Ula’tek. Players can intercept the beams aimed at the boss to stop him from gaining Fang Empowered, but doing so applies Ritual Venom. On higher difficulties, this effect can stack, making coordination important.

Altar of Fangs Zul’jan Mechanics:

  • Ritual of the Fang: Intercept beams to prevent Zul’jan from becoming empowered and manage Ritual Venom effects.
  • Ritual Venom: A delayed poison effect that deals damage when it expires. Avoid allowing too many stacks to build up.
  • Bloodletting: Removes Ritual Venom but creates dangerous blood pools around players.
  • Axegrinder: Avoid the spinning axes as they travel across the arena.
  • Boneslicer: Dodge the axe path and avoid the damage-over-time effect.
  • Chop Down: Tanks should prepare for heavy Physical hits from Zul’jan.
