The newest Patch 8.1.5 for the Battle for Azeroth Expansion is ready to be released which means two new Allied Races will take their side in the faction war between the Alliance and the Horde. But before Players will be able to create a character of one of these Races, they will need to enlist the support of these strong and independent nations and earn their respect.
Developers have spent countless hours creating these two new Races, and as a result, their models are absolutely new and differ a lot from the ones, that already exist. Trolls with healthy posture and corpulent humans both have new animations, and a nonstandard appearance and are very attractive to Players.
Today we will have a view on the requirements needed to get access to these new Races, will familiarize ourselves with their abilities, available classes, Heritage armor sets, and other interesting features.
Plot spoilers ahead!
Kul Tiran Humans
The Allied Race of Kul Tiran Humans is a new playable in-game Race that was announced as far back as 2018 BlizzCon Event. The inhabitants of the great maritime state under the command of their new leader – Lord Admiral Lady Jaina Proudmoore will come forward on the Alliance’s side in a never-ending conflict between two factions.
Unlocking the Race
The firm date of a release hasn’t been announced yet, but it is expected to be launched with the intermediate update number 8.1.5. Players will need to complete the following conditions first if they want to get access to Kul Tiran Humans.
First, earn exalted reputation status with Proudmoore Admiralty. This stage might take lots of time – up to several weeks. A considerable share of the reputation needed you will get while passing the Main Story Campaign in Tiragarde but the remaining part you will have to rise by completing World Quests. We would like to recommend the usage of Contract: Proudmoore Admiralty which allows obtaining additional reputation points for finishing any World Quest inside the Battle for Azeroth territories.
Second, Players will also have to complete the War Campaign – both the Patch 8.0 and 8.1 components. Note that the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid is not required. There will be an Achievement Tides of Vengeance related to this part.
Third, finish the main Storylines of the Kul Tiras and get the meta-achievement A Nation United, which includes the following.
Players are to complete all Storylines in all three locations on the continent of Kul Tiras and get the Achievement Loremaster of Kul Tiras. There will a very interesting Quest Chain after that in a process of which you will escape the prison, unmask Lady Ashvane’s treason, rescue the exiled Jaina, and prevent the destruction of the Capital City of Kul Tiras on top of all that. You will bring the Kul Tiras nation back to the Alliance’s side once you earn lady’s Katherine Proudmoore confidence and Jaina will become now a person of a new title – Lord Admiral. The Player will be rewarded with The Pride of Kul Tiras and A Nation United Achievements.
Only after everything aforesaid is finally done, the wishful User is allowed to start an introductory Questline. The just brought to light Lord Admiral is eager to strengthen the newly formed alliance with Anduin Wrynn by a truly royal gift – a naval ship that is worthy of carrying his royal majesty and represents the staunch loyalty and greatness of a Kul Tiras. And so Players are immediately sent to Stormsong Valley to look for the best shipbuilder.
There are several quests, which carefully lead you through the plot of this story. To make it short, we’ll say that the illustrious Hero-Of-All-Times will have to deal with bandits and dark magic, drug timber and wood, mine tons of ore, recruit the crew – well, everything, the usual Hero and the Main Defender of whole Azeroth does. The final part of this routine is rather unexpected though – we are to name a naval ship. There are four variants to choose among them: Anduin’s Wrath, Dawnsailor, Lionheart, and Tiffin’s Melody; and if the first three are quite clear to understand, the last one needs some explanations to be given. Tiffin Ellerian Wrynn was Anduin’s mother and Varian’s wife who tragically perished during the rebellion of the masons’ guild under the leadership of Edwin VanCleef.
As soon as the Player chooses the name for the naval ship, Brother Pike will bless it and you will be able to unmoor at long last and cast off to Stormwind to offer the king his present.
Funny note: Anduin’s reaction depends on a name, the Player had chosen.
A list of Quests inside the Introductory Series:
After turning the last quest in Players will earn the Achievement Allied Race: Kul Tiran. The Kul Tiran Human Allied Race Mount Kul Tiran Charger goes in addition.
Heritage Armor and a Mount
The Humans of Kul Tiras have their unique transmogrification armor set like any other Allied Race. In order to obtain it, Players have to train the character of this concrete race from level 20 up to level 110 without the help of any level boosting items of features; a rather questionable reward for sleepless nights.
The armor pieces are cosmetic items which means all classes may wear them.
The Kul Tiran Humans have their racial Mount as well and this is a horse (very unexpected) – Kul Tiran Charger; that you will get right after completion of the Introductory Questline. All your Alliance related characters will be able to ride this Mount.
If you have a Level 110 character on the concrete realm, you may create a Kul Tiran Human.
There are the following classes available for this Allied Race:
Human-Druids were the biggest surprise for the community. The developers explained their Druidism abilities with the usage of the ancient magic of Drusts.
Alpine Falcon – will be Kul Tiran Hunters default Pet. The Pet has a unique model with spotted wings and has a real-life prototype – the American Kestrel, a small colorful falcon native to North America.
The Kul Tiran Shamans have unique totems.
- Haymaker (Active) – Wind up, then unleash your might upon your foe, dealing 20 Physical damage, stunning for 3 seconds, and knocking them back substantially. 2.5 minutes Cooldown.
- Brush It Off (Passive) – Increases Versatility by 1%. When you take damage, it heals for 2% of that amount over 4 seconds.
- Child of the Sea (Passive) – Hold your breath for 50% longer and swim 10% faster.

The Zandalari Trolls are new Allied Race of the Horde whose roots stretch back to the Azeroth’s ancient history times. The Zandalari Trolls use predatory dinosaurs as mounts and have one of the strongest fleets in Azeroth.
Unlocking the Race
The firm date of a release hasn’t been announced yet, but it is expected to be launched with the intermediate update number 8.1.5. Players will need to complete the following conditions first if they want to get access to Zandalari Trolls.
Earn exalted reputation status with the Zandalari Empire faction. This stage might take lots of time – up to several weeks. A considerable share of the reputation needed you will get through the Main Story Campaign in Zuldazar, but the remaining part you will have to rise by completing World and Emissary Quests. We would like to recommend the usage of Contract: Zandalari Empire which allows obtaining additional reputation points for finishing any World Quest inside the Battle for Azeroth zones.
Players will also have to complete the War Campaign – both Patch 8.0 and 8.1 components. Note that the Battle of Dazar’alor Raid is not required. There will be an Achievement Tides of Vengeance related to this part.
To get the Zandalar Forever! Meta-achievement and go further, Players are to complete the main Questlines in Zandalar and obtain a few other Achievements with the following among them:
A Bargain of Blood – Complete the Blood Gate Questline in Zuldazar;
The Final Seal – Complete the Zandalar Forever scenario in Zuldazar;
Loremaster of Zandalar – Complete several smaller Achievements on the continent of Zandalar. This a separate Achievement, needed though for the further progress.
After all the needed conditions are fulfilled, the Player may finally start an Introductory Questline. You are honored to be present at the coronation ceremony of the princess Talanji who becomes a new leader of Zandalar. Unfortunately, there are dissatisfied subjects, who are not quite agreed with the fact that the Loa of Death patronizes their queen.
Being a wise queen, Talanji doesn’t prevent any talks among her nationals and tries to assuage the people in a peaceful way. So the Hero has to calm down those flew into a rage, find the troublemaker, and deal with her.
After that, you are introduced to The New Zanchuli Council and Talanji asks for their blessing, but the process is interrupted with undue familiarity, so the swords become the only weighty argument one more time.
The Player has to remove the threat, letting the queen finally take the needed blessing of the Council. After that, you will have to help her with the next stage – to get the blessings from Loa which is not that easy as they will test her majesty’s different merits. In the course of one of them you will even exchange the roles with Talanji and once in your life, you will be protected and not vice versa.
All the blessings have been taken; the new queen is generally recognized at long last, so now Zandalari Trolls officially become a part of the Horde. However, during the conversation with Sylvanas, Windrunner Talanji mentions that the Zandalari Trolls will be equal members of the Horde, not the subordinates, for the queen does not bow down before anyone.
