The WoW Race to World First returns with Midnight Season 2 as it opens its main raid, The Venomous Abyss. North American guilds enter the race on August 18, while European teams join after their August 19 regional reset.
This Midnight Season 2 RWF has a different opening format from the previous tier. Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties become available during each region’s reset, so there is no separate Heroic week. Top guilds will still spend plenty of time on split runs before committing their strongest characters to Mythic progression.
The Venomous Abyss RWF features eight bosses. Teams must defeat Nek’zali the Soulcoiler, Entombed Sentinels, The Lost Explorers, Vashnik the Malignant, Sszorak, The Twin Fangs, and The Coiled Altar. The race ends when the first guild kills Mythic Ula’tek and claims the Midnight Season 2 World First.

For NA, Blizzard scheduled maintenance from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM PDT before the Season 2 launch. Once servers return, the real grind begins: splits, early Mythic kills, roster changes, and eventually the push toward Ula’tek.
