WoW Forever Desolace is the grey wasteland of western Kalimdor, split between warring centaur clans, the Burning Blade and the ghosts of Kodo Graveyard. It covers levels 30–39 and matters more than it used to: its centaur storylines were expanded, and its southern road now leads into the new Shen’dralas zone. Here’s how to get to Desolace in WoW Forever from either faction’s side of the map.
WoW Forever Desolace Key Takeaways:
- Desolace is a contested level 30–39 zone in western Kalimdor.
- It connects to Stonetalon Mountains in the northeast and Feralas in the south.
- Alliance uses the flight master at Nijel’s Point; Horde reaches this zone via Shadowprey Village.
- Forever adds centaur faction quests with new rewards to Desolace.
- The southern road through the Valley of Bones leads into Shen’dralas.
- Maraudon’s entrance sits in western Desolace.
How to Get to Desolace
To get to Desolace, ride southwest out of Stonetalon Mountains or north out of Feralas; those are the only two land borders. Most players take the Stonetalon road on their first trip.
| Faction | Starting Point | Destination |
|---|---|---|
| Alliance | Stonetalon Peak, Stonetalon Mountains | Nijel’s Point, northeast Desolace |
| Horde | Sun Rock Retreat, Stonetalon Mountains | Shadowprey Village, west coast |
| Both | Northern Feralas | Southern Desolace, near the Valley of Bones |
From Stonetalon, follow the road southwest through the mountains until the grey plains open up. Alliance players reach Nijel’s Point almost immediately after the border; Horde players cross the whole zone westward to reach Shadowprey Village on the coast, so it pays to stay on the road and avoid the centaur camps.
Alliance characters at Feathermoon Stronghold take the ferry to the mainland before heading north. Coming from Feralas works best at the upper end of the level range, since you’ll pass through the zone’s southern half first. Desolace Details in WoW Forever
Desolace in WoW Forever is a level 30–39 zone focused on centaur content with new faction quests and rewards. The Gelkis and Magram clans still fight each other, and picking a side still shapes which quests you get. The bigger change sits in the south. Desolace‘s southern road now leads through the Valley of Bones into Shen’dralas, the new zone hidden between Mulgore and Desolace, and the Gelkis and Magram stories continue there.

Desolace Tips
A few Desolace tips help you get the most from the trip:
- Choose Gelkis or Magram early; killing the other clan is how you build standing.
- Take both flight paths you can use on the way in; the zone is wide and slow to cross.
- Leave Maraudon for a proper group, since there’s no summoning stone to bring latecomers.
If you’d rather spend less time on the long ride across the 30s, our Level Cap Bundle can take your character all the way to level 60, beyond the need to visit Desolace at all.
