However, the most popular choice is tailoring — another independent profession, since you get the required materials by looting enemies rather than through some unique gathering process. By choosing them together, you can simultaneously level up two crafting professions! Besides, they complement each other, since you can enchant tailor-made items to make them even better or disenchant them to get enchanting crafting materials.

Leatherworking and Blacksmithing also work, sort of. While getting materials for these professions can be troublesome, both let you create gear fit for disenchanting. Your choice of skill points allocation can also affect the types of materials you'd be getting from disenchantment.

For the most part, Enchanting isn’t all that different from other crafting professions. The base is the same: take the materials and craft something cooler from them. We’ve already discussed what items you’d be crafting as an Enchanter, so let’s talk about the materials and how to get them.

Instead of gathering required materials somewhere in the wild, Enchanters disenchant — or in simpler words, break down — gear into materials, which can then be used to craft enchantments. While destroying gear can be scary at first, it’s a great way to dispose of all the useless junk in your inventory and make something useful out of it. Just be mindful of what you’re disenchanting, since these items will be gone forever.

Some materials can also be obtained by looting enemies or buying them from vendors, but disenchantment will still be your primary material source.

It’s worth mentioning right away, that the reworked profession system majorly affects how you level up primary professions. Now, instead of getting experience from any crafting process, most of your progress will come from first-time crafts. In other words, quick leveling is now less about finding the best recipe to craft repeatedly and more about the best route of crafting a myriad of different items as soon as possible.
