Especially now that max level crafted items can go toe to toe with Mythic gear from dungeons and raids.

While the long-term profitability of this crafting profession is yet to be seen, you should be able to make some good money at the beginning of the expansion, when everyone will be gearing up for the new endgame. There is a good chance that this profession will be very valuable for the classes that can fully utilize the goods it offers, whether you plan to sell them at the auction house or use them on your character.
