In earlier World of Warcraft expansions, professions were more straightforward. In Midnight, Leatherworking is deeper and far more rewarding: you’ll work with specialization talent trees, craft high-value gear, and use the crafting orders system to open consistent gold-making opportunities.
Before ordering our WoW Midnight Leatherworking boost, you can choose up to 4 skill trees you want to master:
Learned Leatherworker — master Leatherworking fundamentals to improve reagent efficiency, concentration, stitchwork, and overall production.
Lasting Leather — specialize in crafting leather armor, increase craft quality, unlock new patterns, and learn customization options.
Safeguarding Scales — specialize in crafting mail armor, increase craft quality, unlock new patterns, and learn customization options.
Flawless Fortes — focus on specialized crafts, from profession equipment to reagents and consumables, improving their quality to support adventurers and crafters.
You can also add coaching sessions to quickly understand profession changes, specializations, and the most profitable crafting routes. Start progressing faster and begin earning gold sooner with our WoW Midnight Leatherworking boost.
With profession systems reworked, the question of worst and best professions, more than ever, comes down to your own preference rather than their actual production. And while it’s unclear yet how profitable Leatherworking will end up being, it certainly has more than a few goods on offer.
Since dracthyrs wear only mail armor, that’s another great potential source of profit. Of course, plenty of other classes might want mail armor too. And together with leather armor, you should have plenty of valuable orders to work through.
Another great source of gold will be the vast number of profession tools leatherworkers can craft. While it’s not something that players constantly need to re-purchase, pretty much every specialist would want to buy one set of tools since it directly affects the quality of their craft.
There’s also a separate specialization tree dedicated solely to patterns, separated into Elemental, Bestial, and Decay. It’s even harder to say how valuable these will be, but at the very least, they significantly increase the amount of gear a Leatherworker can create. But if the high-quality equipment is going to be as good as we were promised, these patterns can prove worth spending skill points into.
Finally, there are various things like drums, armor kits, and reagents, all of which should serve as steady and long-term sources of income. Combined with systems of recrafting, specializations, quality, and Crafting Orders, now it should be easier than ever to find yourself a customer and make some quick gold, as long as you can craft high-quality items. Especially now that max level crafted items can go toe to toe with Mythic gear from dungeons and raids.
While the long-term profitability of this crafting profession is yet to be seen, you should be able to make some good money at the beginning of the expansion, when everyone will be gearing up for the new endgame. There is a good chance that this profession will be very valuable for the classes that can fully utilize the goods it offers, whether you plan to sell them at the auction house or use them on your character.
Leatherworking is one of the primary professions for gear crafting. Most leatherworker craft involves crafting body gear, whether mail armor, leather armor, or equipment infused with unique properties.
This profession also has access to many profession tool recipes, which will be equally sought after at the start, as various professionals will seek out the best gear to improve their craft. Similarly, leatherworkers can craft different reagents that other professions require for their recipes. Finally, there are things like drums and armor kits, which are quite beneficial for raiders.
All in all, the new profession system is deeply intertwined, ensuring that no one profession exists in a vacuum. While it’s likely that some WoW professions will inevitably be better than others, it seems that all of them have their purpose and serve as viable options. So now, more than ever, it’s better to choose the profession based on your personal preferences rather than going for the meta.
