WoW Blue Drake FAQ

How do you get Reins of the Blue Drake?

The Reins of the Blue Drake can come from the Alexstrasza's Gift at the end of the Eye of Eternity raid, right after you defeat its one and only boss, Malygos. There’s similarly a chance to get the mount from the Cache of the Ley-Guardian, after defeating Ley-Guardian Eregos at the end of the Oculus dungeon. In both cases, the mount has only 1-2% chance to drop. Also, the dungeon method works only if the Oculus was chosen by the Dungeon finder as a random Heroic. It’s still worth a try, but it’s better to test your luck with the raid first.

How rare are Reins of the Blue Drake?

Less than a half of WoW players have this mount even many years after it came out in Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It has a 1-2% drop chance both in the Oculus dungeon (when chosen as random Heroic) and Eye of Eternity 10-person raid.

Where does the Blue Drake drop?

There’s actually two places where the Blue Drake mount drops. One is Eye of Eternity raid, as a reward for defeating Malygos in 10-person mode with 1-2% drop chance. The second is the Oculus dungeon, inside the Cache of the Ley-Guardian. However, that works only if the dungeon was chosen by the Dungeon Finder as a random Heroic, which makes it highly inconvenient for farming.
