Dataminers just spotted a new Void-themed Metamorphosis model for Demon Hunters in the latest WoW PTR. It comes with a unique spell icon.
This model appears in Manaforge Omega — a raid introduced in Patch 11.2: Ghosts of K’aresh. During one of the encounters, players face a council of three Demon Hunters. Two of them represent familiar specs: Havoc and Vengeance. But the third one looks completely different.
Unlike the others, this mysterious Demon Hunter wears Void-themed armor and wields shadow-infused weapons. His style closely resembles the Shadowguard Ethereals. Combined with the new Metamorphosis model and void-based abilities like Voidstep and Encroaching Oblivion, fans believe this could tease a third specialization.
Blizzard hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Still, this setup feels similar to how they introduced the Augmentation Evoker in Patch 10.1. Many players noticed that as well.
Currently, Demon Hunters only have two specs — a rare case in WoW. And since there’s a lack of Shadow melee classes, a Void DPS spec makes perfect sense.
It’s possible this is just a cool raid design. But the visuals, icon, and encounter details strongly hint at something more. Whether it’s real or not, the idea of a Void-focused Demon Hunter has already sparked a wave of excitement in the community.
