Blizzard has announced that an official damage meter will soon be part of World of Warcraft’s default UI. Players will be able to track not only their damage but also healing and other combat metrics through customizable panels. While some features are still in development, this marks the first time Blizzard is integrating a built-in alternative to popular third-party addons by launching their own Damage Meter in WoW Midnight.
Alongside the WoW DPS meter, updates are coming to enemy nameplates and boss timers. Players can choose from multiple nameplate styles, including classic-inspired and modern options, with new visual cues for threat, such as a fire effect when pulling aggro. Boss encounters will now feature a built-in timeline that shows upcoming abilities, signaling Blizzard’s broader push to enhance raid and combat tools directly within the base UI.
