Blizzard has announced several transmogrification updates that will appear in patch 12.0.1 WoW Midnight. The changes are a response to community feedback on the new transmog feature recently added in patch 12.0. These changes will ensure a smooth transition to the new transmog interface before the full launch of the new expansion.
WoW Midnight Slot-Based Transmog
With the introduction of Patch 12.0, Blizzard brought in a new slot-based transmog system along with a new interface. The transmogs no longer apply the equipment but to the character itself, so managing the outfits becomes much more flexible.
During this transition, previously applied transmogs were removed and converted into Custom Sets, but restoring an old look still required paying the full gold cost.
Blizzard has confirmed that this was simply an oversight on the team’s part. With the release of Patch 12.0.1, each character will get one free transmog. You will automatically get it for the next transmog set that you create. This means players can revert to their previous state without paying any gold.
WoW Midnight Legion Artifact Transmog Changes
Moreover, WoW Patch 12.0.1 introduces more possibilities for transmog for the Legion Artifacts. The artifact looks that were restricted to a certain type of weapon can now be used for different kinds of weapons. Therefore, it becomes simpler to add a Legion Artifact to a transmog set, even with a different kind of weapon.
