There will be no pet battles in World of Warcraft Midnight, and it’s confirmed by Blizzard. One of the players’ favorite features is being removed from the game after 13 years. Here’s a statement made on X (formerly Twitter) by World of Warcraft content creator MrGM:
In Midnight zones, battle pets won’t require battling to capture. Just throw a trap and they’re yours. This only applies to Midnight pets and older zones currently still require battles to capture them.
Developers confirm that all new pets arriving with WoW Midnight will come with zero battle stats, meaning they can’t participate in pet battles. However, you will still be able to collect wild pets by placing traps on the ground.
