At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard has made a few exciting revelations related to Overwatch: Doctrine, the next Support Hero coming to Overwatch; Doomfist will come back to the game; and some epic Aiming changes await.
Doctrine Joins Overwatch as a New Support Hero
Doctrine is the latest Support Hero and appears to be firmly connected to Doomfist’s side of the story. Better yet, players do not need to wait for Season 5 to try him. Doctrine’s limited Hero Trial is already live from September 12 through September 14.
Players can already test Doctrine during the BlizzCon Hero Trial. His full release will follow with Overwatch Season 5, while Blizzard is showcasing more of the hero during BlizzCon.
Doomfist Is Back in Overwatch
Breakout also gives Doomfist another major role after Vendetta removed him from Talon’s leadership earlier this year. His survival itself is not a new reveal, though. The July story Successors already confirmed that Akande survived his fall and was preparing for whatever came next.
Overwatch Aiming Changes
Blizzard also teased another update to Overwatch’s aiming systems planned for February 2027. Full details have not been shared yet, so we still do not know exactly how much the system will change.
Aiming has already been a major topic for the Overwatch team in 2026. Blizzard previously adjusted console aim assist and added an option to return to the older aiming feel after player feedback.
Overwatch Questwatch: Live
Overwatch’s BlizzCon schedule continues on September 13 with Questwatch: Live, the game’s first live TTRPG adventure. Cassidy voice actor and Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer will lead four Overwatch heroes through an adventure set in Overland.
Questwatch: Live begins at 12:00 PM PT on the BlizzCon Main Stage. Overwatch also has another developer livestream scheduled later on Sunday, so more announcements may still be coming before BlizzCon 2026 ends.
