Capcom has finally announced a long-awaited performance and stability patch for Monster Hunter Wilds. It is aimed at the game’s biggest pain point since launch — poor optimization, especially on PC.
When MHW Gets an Optimization Patch?
The optimization update in Monster Hunter Wilds will roll out in two stages. A Steam-specific patch arrives on January 27 (6 PM PST) / January 28 (2 AM GMT), adding PC-focused fixes and options. Next, a full multi-platform update will follow on February 18, 2026, with broader stability improvements across all systems.
📌 The date for the new patch was revealed by an official MHW account on X (former Twitter).
Despite becoming Capcom’s fastest-selling game at launch, Monster Hunter Wilds has struggled to maintain performance stability. Player reviews on Steam are still “Mixed”, and performance issues are overshadowing what many consider some of the best combat in the series. Director Yuya Tokuda previously acknowledged the problems and promised continued post-launch support; this patch appears to be the most direct response so far.
For PC players in particular, this update can mark a turning point after months of technical complaints. Whether it fully resolves the issues will become clear once the patches go live. If the updates improve the game as promised, many players will finally be able to experience their first monster hunt and complete the Campaign for the 1st time, on their own or with the help of our team!
