NetEase Games has officially announced the release date of Deadpool in Marvel Rivals as the first new playable character in Marvel Rivals Season 6. The event took place during The Game Awards 2025. In this event, they showed a new animated trailer mainly focused on this legendary mercenary.
Deadpool’s launch has been greatly anticipated due to leaks and teasers in the game’s card gallery. Given this teaser in which Deadpool takes center stage, Deadpool’s launch date can be expected when Season 6 begins on January 16, 2026. Deadpool will mark the first new hero in Marvel Rivals in the new year.
NetEase has not shared information on Deadpool’s role and class yet. As observed in previous games, such as Gambit and Rogue, NetEase prefers not to share this information until a short time after release. Such methods have already led to a buzz among gamers, especially when Gambit surprisingly presented strategies with role expectations other than being damage-oriented characters.
Marvel Rivals Elsa Bloodstone Release Date
During the same The Game Awards 2025 presentation, NetEase Games also confirmed Elsa Bloodstone as another upcoming Marvel Rivals character. While she did not receive the same level of focus as Deadpool in the trailer. Elsa Bloodstone’s release was officially locked in for Season 6.
Elsa Bloodstone is expected to join the roster later in the season, most likely through the mid-season 6.5 update. As with Deadpool, her role and gameplay class remain undisclosed, leaving room for speculation across the community.
With NetEase already showing a willingness to assign unexpected roles to fan-favorite characters, players are actively theorizing how Elsa Bloodstone might fit into the current Marvel Rivals meta. Whether she leans toward offense, control, or a hybrid role remains an open question.
For now, Marvel Rivals players are preparing for the launch of Update 5.5, which arrives today and introduces Rogue. With Season 6 just over a month away, anticipation around Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone continues to build.
