Bungie is opening the gates to Tau Ceti IV early. The Marathon Open Weekend officially takes place from February 26 at 10 AM PT to March 2 at 10 AM PT.

What’s Available During the Marathon Open Weekend?
The Marathon Server Slam offers a focused slice of the full game. You won’t see everything, but there’s enough content to get a real feel for Marathon’s PvPvE loop. During the Marathon Open Weekend, players can:
- Infiltrate two zones: Perimeter and Dire Marsh;
- Take early contracts for five factions: CyberAcme, NuCaloric, Traxus, MIDA, and Arachne;
- Progress through early faction trees;
- Try five of six Runner shells, plus the scavenger Rook;
- Play solo, squad up, or form risky alliances via proximity chat.
It’s a proper stress test for both servers and players. Expect firefights, ambushes, and the usual extraction tension.
What Comes After the Marathon Server Slam?
Launch and Marathon Season 1 expand the experience. Bungie confirmed:
- Two additional zones, including Outpost and Cryo Archive;
- The sixth Runner shell, Thief;
- Full faction progression;
- A sixth faction, Sekiguchi Genetics;
- Ranked mode during Season 1.
The Marathon Server Slam is just the first step.
Marathon Open Weekend Rewards
If you play the Marathon Server Slam, you can earn rewards for launch. Also, complete the intro mission, and you’ll unlock a unique emblem and player background. These cosmetics will be delivered when Marathon launches. Here are the Marathon Open Weekend Rewards:

- 4 Standard Runner shell cores;
- 6 Standard weapon chip mods;
