Gearbox shared fresh details about the future of Borderlands 4 during PAX Australia 2025. The studio teased upcoming seasonal events, endgame content, and story DLCs that will keep Vault Hunters busy well into next year. Fans can expect new loot, bosses, and a major expansion featuring a new playable character before April 2026.
Borderlands 4 Roadmap
At PAX Australia, Gearbox developers shared the Borderlands 4 Roadmap and new details about what’s next for Borderlands 4, from free seasonal events to the first paid story expansion. Fans won’t have to wait long: the first “Bounty Pack” drops on November 20.
Borderlands 4 Halloween Event
To kick off the Borderlands 4 spooky season, a limited-time event titled “The Horrors of Kairos” will run from October 23 to November 6. During the event, the world’s weather will shift to a crimson downpour, and slaying world bosses will grant new Legendary loot:
- Murmur Assault Rifle (Tediore) — guarantees critical hits against enemies below 35% HP.
- Skully Grenade Mod — launches homing projectiles that track nearby targets.
Players can also expect new social content drops throughout the event, including themed cosmetics and weapon skins available via SHiFT codes shared by Gearbox.
Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack #1
Bounty Pack #1 in Borderlands 4 Launching on November 20, the first Bounty Pack adds a standalone story chapter focused on Rush, the nostalgic leader of the Outcasts. As he tries to celebrate “Mercenary Day,” a self-righteous Minister of Time Culture stands in his way. The Borderlands 4 DLC will feature:
- A new Vault Map with unique rewards.
- 24 cosmetic items and 4 re-rollable weapons.
- An additional questline expanding the Borderlands 4 lore.
All Bounty Packs are included in the Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions or available for separate purchase.
Borderlands 4 Unkillable Boss #1
In December Borderlands 4 will receive its first Unkillable Boss, a new endgame challenge designed for coordinated groups. These massive raid-type encounters bring exclusive Legendary loot and unlock a new difficulty tier for Vault Hunter Master Mode.
Borderlands 4 Second Bounty Pack and Major DLC Plans
The second Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack will come out in early 2026. The DLC brings new missions, a boss encounter, a vehicle, and additional cosmetics.
Gearbox also confirmed that the first DLC, introducing a brand-new Vault Hunter named C4SH, is set to launch before April 2026. The DLC will include new story content, side missions, a fresh zone, and powerful Legendary gear.
