HOME Battlefield 6 Battlefield 6 Nerfs XP Farming

Battlefield 6’s Portal mode

Since launch, players have been using Battlefield 6’s Portal mode to farm easy weapon XP by filling lobbies with bots. It wasn’t technically against the rules, but it clearly wasn’t what the developers had in mind. Last week, Battlefield Studios confirmed that these XP-grind servers would soon be nerfed — and that update has already landed.

A stealth Battlefield 6 patch pushed this week removed all Mastery XP and challenge progress from any Portal lobby with bots enabled. That effectively ends the era of bot farming. Forcing players back into regular matchmaking if they want to rank up weapons or finish challenges.

These Battlefield 6 bot lobbies had become a community workaround for Battlefield 6’s slow progression system, so their removal sparked frustration. The studio has promised to increase progression speed in an upcoming update, though no timeline was given yet. If you don’t enjoy grinding Weapon Levels in Battlefield 6, reach out to us.
