Get the Smoldering Egg of Millagazor boost and obtain a magnificent Pureblood Fire Hawk to add to your mount collection!
Unlike the Flametalon of Alysrazor, another mount which drops from the Firelands raid, this fire elemental can fly and soar through the skies! This a beautiful looking blazing mount, loved by many WoW players to this day.
Still, it remains relatively rare, all thanks to its low drop rate. Even if your character is powerful enough to breeze though the Firelands raid, not everyone have the time or patience to run the same instance for dozens and even hundreds of times, until they finally get the damn mount, especially since it drops from the final boss of the raid, Ragnaros.
Black Market made the process of acquiring the Fire Hawk a bit easier, since there’s much less RNG involved. Sadly, some of the changes introduced back in Shadowlands made Black Market much less convenient for the regular player looking for a specific purchase. But fear not! We’ve got a lot of experience working with Black Market and know how to get around it to get what’s needed.

To get the Smoldering Egg and unlock the Pureblood Fire Hawk mount, the players have to defeat Ragnaros, the final boss of the Firelands raid. The egg drops on any difficulty and raid size, but has an extremely low drop chance. One is likely to run the raid dozens of times if they want to get their hands on this mount.
Yes, the Pureblood Fire Hawk is still available as a rare drop from the Ragnaros boss fight in Firelands raid. The mount drops on both Normal and Heroic difficulties, as well as both 10 and 25 raid sizes. There are no other special requirements to get this mount, other than to defeat Ragnaros at the end of the raid, however it has a very low drop rate.
When the Firelands just came out back in 2011, during the Cataclysm expansion, the mount was a guaranteed drop from Ragnaros boss fight. Sadly, while the Pureblood Fire Hawk still drops from the Ragnaros, it’s drop chance has been reduced to only 1-2%, making it extremely hard to get.
There are two mounts that you can get while completing the Firelands raid. Flametalon of Alysrazor drops from the Alysrazor boss fight and Pureblood Fire Hawk drops from the Ragnaros. Flametalon is slightly easier to farm for, since Alysrazor can be fought almost immediately after you enter the raid.
Meanwhile, to get a chance for the Fire Hawk, one would have to complete the entire raid and defeat all the bosses first. That being said, both mounts have relatively similar drop rates and both drop on Normal and Heroic difficulties of the raid.
