Inscription has evolved into a deeper, more rewarding profession. In Midnight, it’s not just about leveling skill — it’s about choosing the right specialization path for crafting, upgrades, and gold-making. With the crafting orders system, you can turn Inscription into a steady income stream once your profession and talents are set up.
Choose the Midnight Inscription skill trees we can boost for you:
Blueprints — improve the fundamentals of detailed crafts that require precision and careful execution.
Calm Hands — master core Inscription fundamentals and boost your overall crafting performance.
Perfected Products — focus on Inscription’s key reagents and increase their crafting quality and consistency.
Darkmoon Curiosity — specialize in Darkmoon Cards, shaping and refining them into powerful creations.
If Midnight’s profession systems feel overwhelming at the start, our WoW Midnight Inscription boost helps you level faster, unlock the right talents, and start crafting efficiently. If you have specific goals (gold-making, certain crafts, or specialization priorities), just tell us — we’ll tailor the progression to your needs.
Whew, this one is a doozy. Inscription allows you to craft numerous unique items, each of which might require a separate explanation just to give a general idea of what it is.
You get to create glyphs, missives, trinkets, profession books, contracts, runes, sigils, mysteries, profession equipment, magic weapons, Darkmoon Cards, and even cosmetics for your dragon mount. As you can see, the variety of items available is staggering. However, what exactly you'll be crafting, especially at the beginning, will depend on how you distribute your skill points across various specializations.
We’d be staying here all day trying to explain all of it. So, to keep things simple, Inscription lets you create various items that either directly buff the player character or help them in some other unorthodox way. And it’s also a way to craft some neat-looking cosmetics for yourself and your dragon.
There’s no such thing as a “completely useless profession”, as each one has its role to play. In the case of Inscription, it’s especially valuable among the max-level players, whether they’re looking for missives to improve their legendary gear or glyphs to look cooler.
It might be worth mentioning that Inscription is perhaps one of the most difficult crafting professions to learn and make sense of, though. It’s also noticeably pricier to level up compared to other WoW professions. If you like a challenge, it’s a unique and interesting profession to take. But if you’re a starting player or looking for something more streamlined, it might be better to choose from other primary professions.
It's always challenging to answer questions about the best professions, as the answer is rarely straightforward. That being said, Inscription has been consistently good and profitable since the previous expansion! Now, of course, we can’t promise everything. But so far, the community seems pleased with the changes made, which might mean that it’d be Inscription’s time to shine!
The most obvious are missives, which let you improve and customize crafted gear. They were already good before, perhaps even the most valuable service scribes had to offer. And now that crafted gear will allegedly be on par with raid and mythic loot, there’ll likely be lots of people wishing to upgrade their equipment, especially at the beginning of the expansion.
Another potentially valuable item for gold is Profession Specialization books, which can be used once a week to get 1 point of knowledge. Profession overhaul is one of the major selling points, so at least at the start, the players will definitely be looking for every possible way to boost their profession progression. And if things go smoothly, these books might let you make a profit in the long run as well.
And then there are the cosmetics. Glyphs have been part of the Inscription toolkit for quite a while, but now you can also customize your own dragon. Since only these new dragons can utilize the new flight mechanics, it's likely that most players will prefer using them over their old mounts. With players having only a limited number of dragon presets to choose from, many will likely want to make their dragon look unique. That's where scribes come in.
Despite being rather specific, Inscription is known to be quite lucrative! Some of the most profitable items include Darkmoon Cards, Glyphs, and gear inscriptions. As mentioned earlier, Dragonflight has provided even more opportunities for Inscription to thrive in the Auction House. It's hard to predict exactly how profitable the profession will be in the future, but at least at the start of the expansion, scribes will likely earn a significant amount of gold from their craft.
Herbalism would be your second profession of choice since herbs serve as your main crafting material. More accurately, scribes use ink, which is produced by milling herbs, so the point still stands. If you have a reliable source of herbs, you can choose Alchemy, Enchanting, or Tailoring as your second profession. Alchemy also uses herbs as its primary materials, while Enchanting and Tailoring are self-sufficient in their own right.
Inscription was added to the game all the way back in 2008 with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
