WoW Grand Black War Mammoth FAQ
How do you get the Grand Black War Mammoth?
The Grand Black War Mammoth mount drops from any of the four bosses of the Vault of Archavon raid:
- Archavon the Stone Watcher.
- Emalon the Storm Watcher.
- Koralon the Flame Watcher.
- Toravon the Ice Watcher.
All four bosses have the chance to drop the mount, but in each case you only has about a 1% chance of actually getting it. There are no other requirements to get this mount and it’s all mostly up to your luck. However, it is important to remember that the raid is only available to the faction which currently controls Wintergrasp, since it’s a PvP area.
On what difficulty does Grand Black War Mammoth drop?
The Grand Black War Mammoth drops on all modes of the raid, so you don’t have to worry about that. Unless you care about other rewards, such as transmog equipment, it doesn’t matter what mode you choose to enter the raid.
Where does Grand Black War Mammoth drop?
Grand Black War Mammoth drops from all four bosses of the Vault of Archavon raid, located in the Wintergrasp Fortress, Northrend. The entrance is located right near one of the Wintergrasp fortress front gates, 53.6, 86.4. One annoying thing about Wintergrasp is that it’s a PvP zone and the raid is available only to the faction which controls the fortress. If the opposite faction controls it, you simply can’t enter the raid until the Wintergrasp retaken.
How rare is Grand Black War Mammoth?
The mount has only around 1% drop chance and is considered to be pretty rare among the WoW community. However, in a surprisingly generous way, the mount drops not from one, but all four bosses of the raid. That doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t have to run the instance a few dozen times to get the luck on your side and get the mount, but still, it does increase your chances for the drop.
