World of Warcraft Forever makes traveling possible using the old means of traveling, such as walking, riding, flying via Flight Masters, and waiting for the boats and zeppelins to arrive. However, WoW Forever also introduces some routes that make it different from the Classic version of WoW. Our WoW Forever Travel Guide describes all means of transportation, the most important travel nodes, routes to starting zones, and new dungeon locations.
WoW Forever Travel Guide Key Takeaways:
- There are still no flying mounts in WoW Forever, so flight paths and ground transportation are important at all levels.
- Stormwind Harbor is now linked directly to Auberdine, thus making it easier for the Alliance to cross continents.
- A new ship is now traveling along the route between Menethil Harbor → Southshore → Auberdine.
- The Steamwheedle port is connected to the Powderfuse port, providing both factions with a way to access Riverglades from the sea.
- WoW Forever ships also retain key Classic connections, including Ratchet ↔ Booty Bay, Menethil Harbor ↔ Theramore, and Auberdine ↔ Rut’theran Village.
- The Skyborne flight leaves Zephras Isle on routes leading to Dalaran or northwestern Mulgore.
- Both Alliance and Horde can use the Zephras Isle sky routes from Valanaar to join the wider Azeroth travel network.
- Horde long-distance travel centers on the Orgrimmar ↔ Undercity, Orgrimmar ↔ Grom’gol, and Undercity ↔ Grom’gol zeppelin routes.
- The Deeprun Tram remains the direct Alliance route between Stormwind and Ironforge, while Mage portals and Hearthstones provide additional shortcuts.
- Major WoW Forever travel hubs include Stormwind, Auberdine, Menethil Harbor, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Ratchet, and Valanaar, where several transport routes meet.
- Some WoW Forever zones have specific access routes: Moonglade and Winterspring use Timbermaw Hold, Shen’dralas is reached through southern Desolace, and Riverglades has both Redridge and Tanaris approaches.
- Class trainers, profession trainers, weapon masters, and other services are mainly found in capital cities and major hubs, with city guards helping mark many locations on the map.
WoW Forever Travel Map
Before you start planning your route in-game, learn to read a good WoW Forever travel map: these should show more than zone borders. Ports, zeppelin towers, Flight Masters, dungeons, raids, and major hubs are what actually shape your route across Azeroth. Use these WoW Forever map markers on the map:
- Capital city: Major faction capitals and transport hubs.
- Harbor: Ship departure and arrival points.
- Zeppelin tower: Horde zeppelin stops and long-distance connections.
- Sky dock: Skyboat stops used by the new Forever travel routes.
- Dungeon: Dungeon entrances.
- Raid: Raid entrances and major endgame locations.
- Battleground: Battleground entrances or access points.
- Alliance flight master: Flight Paths available to Alliance characters.
- Horde flight master: Flight Paths available to Horde characters.
- Flight masters for both factions: Neutral Flight Paths usable by both sides.
- Gold ring or line: Locations or routes added in WoW Forever.
For most trips, start by finding the nearest capital, harbor, or Flight Master. From there, check whether a ship, zeppelin, skyboat, or discovered Flight Path can cut out a long ground ride. Also, Unlocking Mounts can help with traveling on short distances, and we can help you with that.
WoW Forever Travel Routes
Here’s the outline of the most popular travel routes in WoW Forever:

This table gives the first step rather than a complete walkthrough. The linked WoW Forever travel guides cover every turn, requirement, and faction-specific shortcut. Keep in mind that for some destinations you need to Level Up first, and our pro players can help you skip the grind.
WoW Forever New Routes
WoW Forever adds several new travel routes that make cross-continent trips and starting-zone travel much faster. The biggest changes are new ship connections for Alliance players, a neutral Riverglades highway, and Skyborne transport from Zephras Isle.
- Stormwind Harbor ↔ Auberdine: A direct Alliance ship connects Stormwind with Darkshore, making travel between Stormwind, Teldrassil, and Darnassus much easier.
- Menethil Harbor → Southshore → Auberdine: This three-stop Alliance route links the Wetlands, Hillsbrad Foothills, and Darkshore without the old long overland trip.
- Steamwheedle Port ↔ Powderfuse Port: A neutral ship connects Tanaris with Riverglades, giving both factions a direct sea route between southern Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
- Zephras Isle Sky Routes: Valanaar connects Zephras Isle with Dalaran and northwestern Mulgore, helping Skyborne characters join the main Alliance or Horde travel network after the starting experience.
WoW Forever Travel Basics
WoW Forever retains the slow traveling pace that we’ve seen in the older Azeroth. It is impossible to fly over the mountains and across the continents instantly. If you want to travel around the WoW Forever destinations, you should know how to use an efficient Flight Path system, which requires knowledge of the key ports.
| Travel Option | Best Use |
|---|---|
| Flight Paths | Fast travel between discovered towns, hubs, and leveling zones. |
| Boats and Ships | Crossing continents and reaching coastal hubs, including new Forever routes. |
| Zeppelins | Horde long-distance travel between Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Grom’gol. |
| Skyboats | Travel from Zephras Isle toward Dalaran and northwestern Mulgore. |
| Deeprun Tram | Direct travel between Stormwind and Ironforge. |
| Mage Portals and Teleports | Fast city travel when a Mage or the required spell is available. |
| Hearthstone and Class Shortcuts | Returning to a chosen hub or skipping specific routes with class abilities. |
✏️ Several transportation types overlap, so the fastest route often uses two or three of them.
WoW Forever Flight Paths
Flight Paths in WoW Forever are connected between towns, capitals, neutral cities, and various other WoW Forever locations. To utilize this destination later, you should visit a Flight Master first.
Don’t ignore visiting the Flight Master just because it is a one-time visit. You should still learn the path in case you need to revisit the location later or request a stop while flying.
✏️ Unlocking Flight Paths when your leveling route goes through the hubs is always recommended, especially for Winterspring, Silithus and Riverglades.
WoW Forever Ships
Ships in WoW Forever help Alliance travel to the longest destinations. Forever WoW adds three additional routes that were not included in the original Classic travel system. These new WoW Forever Boat paths connect:
- Stormwind ↔Auberdine;
- Southshore on the northern Alliance route;
- Tanaris ↔ Riverglades.
Ships are beneficial in the sense that there is no need to locate a Flight Path before using them. This may be the best choice for a newly created character traveling between continents. Additionally, new characters can benefit from our Starter Pack, which will ease the leveling of both your character and professions.
WoW Forever Zeppelins
Zeppelins in WoW Forever remain the Horde’s main means of long-distance travel. Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Grom’gol form the core network between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. The familiar WoW Forever Zeppelin routes include:
- Orgrimmar ↔ Undercity;
- Orgrimmar ↔ Grom’gol;
- Undercity ↔ Grom’gol.
Orgrimmar’s towers sit outside the main city gate. Undercity departures are north of the city, while Grom’gol uses the tower inside the Horde camp.
WoW Forever Skyboats
With the release of Zephras Isle, WoW Forever adds a completely different travel system. In Valanaar, two flights link the starting zone of Skyborne to the rest of the continent of Azeroth:
- A skyboat flight from Valanaar to Dalaran.
- A flight from Zephras Isle to an area located just north of Thunder Bluff, close to Skywatcher Plateau.
📌 Both factions have access to these flights.
Obviously, since the flight goes to Dalaran, it suits the Alliance Skyborne. On the other hand, the flight to Mulgore gives a better exit point for Horde players.
WoW Forever Deeprun Tram
The Deeprun Tram in WoW Forever connects Stormwind and Ironforge. For Alliance characters, it remains one of the best city-to-city shortcuts in WoW Forever. A Dwarf or Gnome can reach Stormwind without running through Loch Modan and the Wetlands. Human characters can use the same connection when they need Ironforge or Dun Morogh.
WoW Forever Mage Portals
Mage portals in WoW Forever can cut out long trips once your group has access to the required spell. Teleports also give Mages a personal shortcut back to major cities. These routes are useful, but our WoW Forever travel guide does not assume a Mage is available. Every route below works through the normal world transportation network unless stated otherwise.
WoW Forever Hearthstone
Set your Hearthstone around the content you currently run in WoW Forever. Keeping it in a distant capital while questing across another continent can turn every return trip into a chore. Some classes also get special travel tools. Druids are the obvious example because Teleport: Moonglade bypasses the normal Timbermaw route.
WoW Forever Ship Routes
Ships in WoW Forever connect several areas that would otherwise require huge ground detours. World of Warcraft Forever additions make the network much more useful during normal leveling.
| From | To | Faction | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stormwind Harbor | Auberdine | Alliance | New Forever route |
| Auberdine | Stormwind Harbor | Alliance | New Forever route |
| Menethil Harbor | Southshore → Auberdine | Alliance | New three-stop route |
| Auberdine | Menethil Harbor via route loop | Alliance | New Forever connection |
| Menethil Harbor | Theramore | Alliance | Classic connection |
| Auberdine | Rut’theran Village | Alliance | Main route to Teldrassil |
| Ratchet | Booty Bay | Both | Neutral cross-continent ship |
| Booty Bay | Ratchet | Both | Neutral cross-continent ship |
| Steamwheedle Port | Powderfuse Port | Both | New Riverglades route |
| Powderfuse Port | Steamwheedle Port | Both | New Riverglades route |
| Feathermoon | Feralas mainland | Alliance | Local ferry |
The Ratchet — Booty Bay ship is especially useful for characters without a developed Flight Path network. It gives both factions another route between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Current Forever travel maps also retain Menethil — Theramore and Auberdine — Rut’theran connections.
📌 For Alliance players, Auberdine becomes one of the strongest early travel hubs in Forever. Three different routes now meet around Darkshore and Teldrassil.
WoW Forever Zeppelin Routes
For a fresh Horde character in WoW Forever, Orgrimmar is usually the hub worth learning first. From there, you can jump between continents without completing any Flight Path chain. The Horde network is smaller than the full Alliance ship network, but the routes cover huge distances.
| From | To | Best Used For |
|---|---|---|
| Orgrimmar | Undercity | Northern Eastern Kingdoms |
| Orgrimmar | Grom’gol | Stranglethorn and southern Eastern Kingdoms |
| Undercity | Orgrimmar | Kalimdor travel |
| Undercity | Grom’gol | Stranglethorn |
| Grom’gol | Orgrimmar | Return to central Horde hub |
| Grom’gol | Undercity | Northern Eastern Kingdoms |
Grom’gol becomes especially useful during Stranglethorn leveling. It also removes a huge chunk of running when your route moves between southern Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
Important WoW Forever Travel Hubs
The WoW Forever travel nodes refer to the places at which many traveling means come together, such as flight paths, ships, zeppelins, and city routes. Knowledge of these travel nodes makes it easy to travel because one can use just a few travel nodes instead of researching each flight master. Our Hourly Driving specialists can help you visit and unlock these hubs in case you don’t want to dedicate your free time to this.
Alliance Travel Hubs
- Stormwind is now both a capital and a major sea hub. You have the Deeprun Tram to Ironforge and the new ship toward Auberdine.
- Auberdine connects Teldrassil with Stormwind, Menethil Harbor, and Southshore. For Night Elf characters, it is the first major junction outside their starting area.
- Menethil Harbor links the Wetlands with Theramore and the new Southshore–Auberdine route. It remains useful well beyond early leveling.
- Southshore gains much more value in Forever because the new ship actually stops there. It becomes a convenient gateway toward Hillsbrad, Alterac, and The Hinterlands.
- Ironforge combines a major Flight Path network with the Deeprun Tram. It also sits directly above the new Hall of Thanes dungeon.
Horde Travel Hubs
- Orgrimmar combines zeppelins with a large Kalimdor Flight Path network. Most Horde characters will return there repeatedly.
- Undercity handles northern Eastern Kingdoms travel and connects directly with Orgrimmar and Grom’gol.
- Grom’gol is the key Horde stop in Stranglethorn Vale. The two zeppelin connections make it much more useful than a normal quest hub.
- Thunder Bluff covers central Kalimdor and now sits close to the Zephras Isle route in northwestern Mulgore.
Neutral Travel Hubs
- Ratchet links The Barrens with Booty Bay through a neutral ship.
- Steamwheedle Port now matters much more because it connects Tanaris with Riverglades.
- Powderfuse Port is the Riverglades end of that route and gives both factions access to the zone.
- Valanaar acts as Zephras Isle’s transport center, with routes toward Dalaran and Mulgore.
How to Travel Between WoW Forever Starting Zones
In WoW Forever it is relatively easy to travel across starting zones thanks to a developed net of routes and plenty of transport options. Alliance and Horde players can use ships, trams, zeppelins, or flight paths (based on the faction) to move to the major cities before going into the open world.
However, it’s not always clear how to get from Teldrassil to Stormwind in WoW Forever (and vice versa), or how to travel from Orgrimmar to the Undercity. So we provide all possible WoW Forever starting-zone routes to help you move from your starting location to major cities and hubs.
Alliance Starting Zone Routes
The biggest upgrade in WoW Forever is the Teldrassil ↔ Stormwind connection. The new direct Stormwind–Auberdine ship cuts out much of the old Classic journey. And here’s a full list of WoW Forever Alliance Starting Zone Routes:
| From | To | Recommended Route |
|---|---|---|
| Teldrassil / Darnassus | Stormwind | Rut’theran → Auberdine → Stormwind ship |
| Teldrassil / Darnassus | Ironforge | Auberdine → Stormwind → Deeprun Tram |
| Elwynn / Stormwind | Darnassus | Stormwind → Auberdine → Rut’theran |
| Elwynn / Stormwind | Ironforge | Deeprun Tram |
| Dun Morogh / Ironforge | Stormwind | Deeprun Tram |
| Dun Morogh / Ironforge | Darnassus | Tram → Stormwind → Auberdine → Rut’theran |
Horde Starting Zone Routes
Horde starting areas already had a strong long-distance WoW Forever zeppelin link. The most awkward trip is usually Thunder Bluff, since Mulgore has no direct classic zeppelin to Orgrimmar.
| From | To | Recommended Route |
|---|---|---|
| Durotar / Orgrimmar | Undercity | Zeppelin |
| Tirisfal / Undercity | Orgrimmar | Zeppelin |
| Durotar / Orgrimmar | Thunder Bluff | Barrens → Mulgore / Flight Path once unlocked |
| Mulgore / Thunder Bluff | Orgrimmar | Barrens route / Flight Path once unlocked |
| Tirisfal / Undercity | Thunder Bluff | Zeppelin to Orgrimmar, then continue through Kalimdor |
Skyborne Starting Zone Travel
Skyborne race starts on Zephras Isle, a new level 1–12 area. In WoW Forever, Valanaar provides two routes when you are ready to leave the island: Alliance characters can travel toward Dalaran, while Horde characters have a route toward northwestern Mulgore. From there, both sides can connect with their normal capital networks.
How to Travel Between WoW Forever Zones
Access to WoW Forever areas may require travelers to know the correct route through the road, harbor, tunnel, or the Flight Path close to it. There are areas that will only allow entrance from one possible point of access, whereas other areas will have different travel routes for Alliance and Horde players. Below are the main travel routes to Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.
Kalimdor Travel Directory
In WoW Forever Kalimdor, Moonglade and Winterspring share Timbermaw Hold as their main ground approach. The tunnel branches inside, so taking the wrong exit is an easy first-trip mistake. Shen’dralas is a Forever-specific case. The known route enters from southern Desolace through the Valley of Bones.
| Zone | Main Approach | Full Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Moonglade | Timbermaw Hold; Druids have class options | How to Get to Moonglade |
| Desolace | Stonetalon Mountains or northern Feralas | How to Get to Desolace |
| Shen’dralas | Southern Desolace through Valley of Bones | How to Get to Shen’dralas |
| Winterspring | Timbermaw Hold from northern Felwood | How to Get to Winterspring |
| Silithus | Northwestern Un’Goro Crater | How to Get to Silithus |
Eastern Kingdoms Travel Directory
In WoW Forever Eastern Kingdoms, the Hinterlands becomes easier for Alliance characters because Southshore now sits on the new ship route. From there, the mountain entrance near Durnholde is a short ground trip. Riverglades has two very different entrances. Eastern Kingdoms players can approach from Redridge, while Kalimdor characters can use the Steamwheedle–Powderfuse ship.
| Zone | Main Approach | Full Guide |
|---|---|---|
| The Hinterlands | Hillsbrad mountain pass | How to Get to The Hinterlands |
| Riverglades | Redridge road or Tanaris ship | How to Get to Riverglades |
| Searing Gorge | Badlands pass or Blackrock Mountain | How to Get to Searing Gorge |
| Burning Steppes | Redridge or Blackrock Mountain | How to Get to Burning Steppes |
How to Get to WoW Forever Dungeons
WoW Forever adds nine new dungeons across the leveling range. Some sit near faction capitals, while others require a much longer trip. The table below focuses on travel, not dungeon tactics.
| Dungeon | Level Range* | Location | Travel Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hall of Thanes | 13–18 | Ironforge | Alliance-friendly; Horde must reach Ironforge |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15–20 | Tirisfal / Undercity ruins | Horde-friendly; Alliance crosses Horde territory |
| Excavation Site | 24–29 | Wetlands | Above Whelgar’s Excavation Site |
| City of Dalaran | 28–33 | Alterac Mountains | Reach Dalaran from the surrounding northern EK routes |
| The Drowned City | 35–40 | Off Stranglethorn coast | Offshore entrance makes route planning important |
| Krol’dok Stronghold | 40–45 | Riverglades | Reach Riverglades first |
| Alcaz Prison | 48–53 | Alcaz Island | Far northeast of Dustwallow Marsh |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55–60 | Northern Azshara | Behind the northern furbolg gates |
| Shaper’s Terrace | 58–60 | Un’Goro Crater | High-level southern Kalimdor route |
*Level ranges reflect current Beta information and may change before launch. Currently lists these nine dungeons across levels 13–60.
Hall of Thanes
Hall of Thanes is under Ironforge. Alliance players can enter through the High Seat, taking the open door to Old Ironforge and following the path down to the instance portal. Horde players have a much longer route through Hillsbrad, Arathi Highlands, Wetlands, Loch Modan, and Dun Morogh before entering Ironforge. Want to run Hall of Thanes fast and with no pugs? Our team got you.
Ruins of Lordaeron
Horde players can reach Ruins of Lordaeron directly through the non-instanced ruins above Undercity, entering from Tirisfal Glades south of Brill. Alliance players can take the new ship chain from Stormwind to Auberdine and Southshore, then travel north past Dalaran and swim through Lordamere Lake into Tirisfal Glades.
Excavation Site
Alliance players can reach Excavation Site from Menethil Harbor or by running through Loch Modan into the Wetlands. Horde players usually travel from Tarren Mill through Arathi Highlands and enter the Wetlands from the north; the dungeon entrance sits at the top of the new road above Whelgar’s Excavation Site.
City of Dalaran
Alliance players enter City of Dalaran through the sewers, with the dungeon pipe located in the Cantrips & Crows area. Horde players use the outside entrance at around /way 8.8, 59.6, which requires the Dalaran Sewer Key; swimming from Silverpine Forest is one of the quicker approaches. Made it to the City of Dalaran? Our team can help you with the dungeon completion fast and easily; just reach out.
The Drowned City
The Drowned City lies off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. Travel into Stranglethorn first, then continue toward the offshore troll ruins where the dungeon is located. Current public data confirms the offshore location, but does not yet provide a fully documented route to the entrance.
Krol’dok Stronghold
Krol’dok Stronghold is located in Riverglades. Reach Riverglades through the Redridge side or by taking the Steamwheedle Port ship to Powderfuse Port, then continue through the zone toward the dungeon. Current dungeon data confirms Riverglades as the location but does not yet document a more exact entrance path.
Alcaz Prison
Alcaz Prison is on Alcaz Island, far northeast of Dustwallow Marsh. Reach Dustwallow first, travel to the northeastern coast, and then continue toward Alcaz Island for the final approach to the dungeon. Current public sources confirm the island location but do not yet give a detailed entrance route.
Blackmaw Hold
Blackmaw Hold is in northern Azshara, behind the Furbolg Gates. Travel north through Azshara and continue toward the furbolg-controlled area to reach the dungeon entrance.
Shaper’s Terrace
Shaper’s Terrace is located in Un’Goro Crater. Reach Un’Goro first through its normal Tanaris approach, then continue through the crater toward the dungeon area. Current sources confirm Un’Goro as the location, but the exact entrance route is not yet documented in detail. The Shapers Terrace is one of the most demanded dungeons, and our team can help you with its completion.
How to Find Trainers in WoW Forever
WoW Forever class trainers, profession trainers, weapon masters, riding trainers, banks, and Auction Houses can be found all across capitals, starting areas, and major quest locations. Use the table below as a quick reference for common WoW Forever trainer locations and useful service hubs.
| Trainers and Services | Locations | Example Coordinates |
|---|---|---|
| Class Trainers | Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff | Varies by class and city district |
| Profession Trainers | All major capitals, plus selected towns and new Forever hubs | Example: Mining in Stormwind 51.0, 17.2; Ironforge 50.4, 26.0 |
| Weapon Masters | Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff | Stormwind 57, 57; Darnassus 57, 46; Orgrimmar 81, 19; Thunder Bluff 40, 63 |

| Banks and Auction Houses | Every capital city | Clustered around the main trade district |
| Stable Masters | Capitals and selected towns | Example: Dalaran 19.7, 70.1 |
✏️ The quickest way to get a required trainer or service marked on your map is go to the nearest capital and ask a city guard to help.
Weapon Masters are more limited, so knowing the correct capital saves extra travel:
- Woo Ping stands in Stormwind at /way 57, 57;
- Ilyenia Moonfire is in Darnassus at /way 57, 46;
- Orgrimmar’s weapon masters are around /way 81, 19;
- Ansekhwa is in Thunder Bluff near /way 40.9, 62.7.
WoW Forever also adds trainers to newer locations. Dalaran currently has profession trainers for First Aid, Enchanting, Cooking, Herbalism, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, and Alchemy, with several clustered around /way 17–20, 60–64. And if you need Profession Kits for faster leveling, just ask our team for assistance and get what you want.
WoW Forever Travel FAQ
Here are quick answers to common questions about traveling in WoW Forever.
What Is the Fastest Way to Travel in WoW Forever?
The quickest method is a combination of flight paths with either boats or zeppelins for long travels. The choice will depend on your current Flight Masters’ status. New players will need to use more ships, zeppelins, the Deeprun Tram, and ground travel paths.
Are There Flying Mounts in WoW Forever?
No. WoW Forever will not use flying mounts in world travel. Ground mounts, Flight Masters, ships, airships, and others are still useful up to level 60.
What New Travel Routes Does WoW Forever Add?
Three main ship paths have been added to WoW Forever: the first is Stormwind-Auberdine, the second is Menethil-Southshore-Auberdine, and the third is Steamwheedle-Powderfuse. There are also other paths from Zephras Island to Dalaran and northwest Mulgore.
How Do Horde Players Travel Between Continents?
The main Horde network uses zeppelins between Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Grom’gol. The neutral Ratchet — Booty Bay ship gives another option.
Can Horde Use Alliance Boats in WoW Forever?
Faction-specific ports can leave Horde players near enemy NPCs, even if the player safely managed to get on board. The best choices would be neutral routes such as Ratchet — Booty Bay and Steamwheedle — Powderfuse.
How Do You Leave Zephras Isle?
Visit Valanaar and use either of its two transport paths. One will lead you to Dalaran, while the second will connect you with northwestern Mulgore near Thunder Bluff.
Should You Unlock Every Flight Path?
You don’t have to travel all of Azeroth just for their collection, but ignoring the closest ones results in extra travel in the future.
Getting around Azeroth is still part of the adventure in WoW Forever, but several old routes are now much less painful. New ships connect Stormwind, Auberdine, Southshore, and Riverglades, while Zephras Isle adds another travel network for Skyborne characters. Once you learn the major hubs, traveling gets much simpler. Grab Flight Paths as you go, remember the new Forever connections, and you will spend far less time riding the wrong road.
