How do you get molten core attunement in Hardcore?

Upon reaching level 55, you’ll find a blood elf Lothor Riftwaker right next to the Grinding Quarry entrance. He will ask you to get into the dungeon and retrieve the Core Fragment for him. Once the Core is brought back, he will open a shortcut portal right to the Molten Core entrance. The quest itself is called “Attunement to the Core”. While the quest isn’t particularly challenging, going into the dungeon can be still pretty dangerous, especially in Hardcore.

Does Molten Core require attunement in Hardcore?

The “attunement” for the Molten Core raid isn’t necessary - you can freely enter the sequence without completing it. However, doing the attunement makes future visits much more convenient, since you don’t have to run through the entire Blackrock Depths Dungeon to get to it. Because of that, many raid teams also require everyone to finish the attunement before they can join.

Where is the attunement to the core in Hardcore?

Attunement to the Core quest is very easy to miss, as the Lothos RIftwaker, the NPC you have to talk with, is hidden in a small room right next to the Grinding Quarry entrance in Blackrock Mountain. You do have to be at least level 55 to even see him and start the quest.
