- New Luminary Scion Ascendancy — focused on permanent Mercenary companions.

Path of Exile New Encounters
Lost Charts in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame are the main entry point into the league mechanics. While exploring regular maps, you can find Chart encounters guarded by enemies. Defeating the guardians allows you to claim the treasure and obtain a Chart, which can later be used aboard The Sovereign, Valerie’s ship, to travel to an area on the ocean floor.
Each Chart leads to a unique underwater area with its own modifiers and rewards. After entering through the Bathysphere, you explore the area using Allflame Lanterns to create safe zones while searching for treasure, Luminous Coral, and other encounters. You can combine Completed Charts with other Charts to create larger Voyages.
Path of Exile New Explorations
Voyages in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame are the larger endgame activity that can be accessed by combining nine Charts into one massive ocean-floor expedition. After collecting enough Charts, you can arrange them on the Voyage Board, connecting each area to create a custom route. Each Chart brings its own modifiers, while additional bonuses from the edges of the Voyage Board affect nearby areas, allowing you to optimize your Voyage for better rewards.
Before starting a Voyage, you need to choose nine Charts and place them on the board, taking into account their modifiers and special bonuses. Some Charts can reveal additional rewards such as treasure locations, Abyssal pits, or other unique encounters.
✏️ During a Voyage, you can revisit each Chart area for rewards. You can also find Allflame Capsules throughout the expedition to store loot before returning to the surface.
PoE Curse of the Allflame Voyages are intended to be the primary method of progression, where you earn rewards. You can choose which Charts to use and organize them near Voyage bonuses for greater rewards. Need a strong build to start Curse of the Allflame content? Check out our Starter Build service!
Path of Exile New Ascendancy
The Luminary is a brand-new PoE Curse of the Allflame Ascendancy for the Scion. Built around the reworked Mercenaries of Trarthus mechanic, the Luminary is the only Ascendancy that can permanently recruit a Mercenary. This allows you to keep the same companion throughout their journey instead of replacing them after a limited number of areas.
The Luminary Ascendancy in PoE 3.29 also expands how Mercenaries can be customized. By default, Mercenaries can no longer equip Unique items, but the Luminary Ascendancy includes passive nodes that unlock individual equipment slots for Unique gear. Path of Exile New Crafting System
Allflame Crafting in Path of Exile is the main crafting system introduced in Patch 3.29. Located aboard The Sovereign, this system allows you to apply a crafting currency to an item while seeing multiple possible outcomes before choosing the result you want to keep.
Instead of relying on a single random outcome, Allflame Crafting creates several ghostly versions of the item, each showing a different result from the crafting action. You can select one outcome, while the others disappear.
To use Allflame Crafting, you will need an item and a compatible currency for crafting that can include the Exalted Orb and other types of crafting resources. You will also need the Dead Man’s Sulphur, which you can get via Chart/Voyage encounters. Keep in mind that stronger crafting items will need more Sulphur.

Path of Exile Atlas Anomalies
PoE Atlas Anomalies are a new endgame system introduced in Curse of the Allflame League. After completing maps affected by a Voidstone, there is a chance for an Anomaly to appear on the Atlas. You can enter these areas from the Atlas, as they don’t require a Map. Each Anomaly can only be completed once. They are separate from normal maps and are not affected by Atlas Passive Tree bonuses or map fragments
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame Mercenaries
Mercenaries of Trarthus return in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame, appearing throughout Wraeclast from Act 3 onwards. These Mercenaries challenge players to duels, where you can choose an item they are carrying as a wagered reward before the fight. If you defeat them, you receive the chosen item, and the Mercenary joins you as an ally for several areas. If you lose, you forfeit the wager, and the Mercenary escapes.

Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame New Skills
New skills in PoE Curse of the Allflame include new Skill Gems, Support Gems, and Transfigured Gems. They are focused on improving self-cast spell builds. The biggest additions are the new Exceptional Pact Skill Gems, which allow you to empower different types of spells by making deals with powerful entities. These new skills come with unique benefits and drawbacks, creating new options for spell-focused builds.
The main new skills in PoE Curse of the Allflame include:
- Pact of Beidat — Enhances projectile, targeted area, and chaining beam spells while applying an Affliction drawback.
- Pact of Ghorr — Improves damage over time spells and grants access to the Hunger of Ghorr effect.
- Pact of K’tash — Enhances Vaal spells by improving Soul-related mechanics.
- Pact of Lycia — Supports self-cast channeling spells with additional lightning effects.
- Mana-Infused Staff — A new reservation skill designed for staff-based spellcaster builds.
- New Exceptional Support Gems and Transfigured Gems added with Patch 3.29.
Alongside the new gems, Path of Exile Patch 3.29 also includes a large spellcaster rebalance. More than 100 existing spells receive changes, with different spell types gaining improved scaling, critical strike options, cast speed changes, or mana adjustments.
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame Updates
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame introduces a large number of changes beyond the new league mechanic. There are updates to several older league mechanics, expanded endgame progression, and changes to sockets and spells. Major updates introduced in PoE Patch 3.29 include:
- Socket rework — sockets no longer restrict gem colors.
- Abyss rework — redesigned encounters and a new Pinnacle Boss.
- Legion rework — new Stygial Unique Items and Enshrouding Crystal crafting.
- Talisman rework — new enchantment-based modifiers and updated sources.
- Endgame — various tweaks and changes to endgame activities and progression.
Alongside the major PoE Curse of the Allflame league mechanics, Patch 3.29 also changes how players interact with existing content and progression. Socket colors now provide bonuses instead of acting as restrictions; older mechanics such as Abyss, Legion, and Talisman have more defined rewards, and spellcaster builds receive additional options through new passives and skill updates.
As you can see, there have been many new additions to the game, and you can prepare for all of them with your very own Custom Build!
Curse of the Allflame Sockets Rework
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame completely changes how socket colors work in Patch 3.29. Socket colors no longer act as restrictions, meaning players can place any Skill Gem or Support Gem into any socket regardless of its color. This removes one of the biggest gearing limitations, making it easier to use new upgrades without needing to reroll sockets first. The main socket Path of Exile 3.29 Changes include:
- Sockets no longer prevent gems of different colors from being used.
- Most sockets on items are now white by default.
- Red, Green, and Blue sockets provide bonuses instead of restrictions.
- Matching a gem with the same socket color grants 10% increased Gem Quality.
- Chromatic Orbs now guarantee at least one Red, Green, or Blue socket when used.
- Colored sockets become an optional upgrade for maximizing gem bonuses.
- Socket numbers and links continue to function the same way as before.
The socket rework changes gearing progression by making item upgrades more accessible while keeping socket colors relevant for endgame optimization. You no longer need to ignore strong items because they have the wrong colors, but finding the right colored sockets can still provide additional power through the Gem Quality bonus.
Curse of the Allflame Abyss Rework
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame Abyss overhaul is changing it from a mechanic focused on following moving cracks through maps into a faster, more direct encounter. Abyssal Pits now appear already opened, with nearby monsters feeding energy into them. Major Abyss changes in PoE 3.29 include:
- Abyss cracks no longer move through maps.
- Monsters around Abyss Pits must be defeated to trigger the encounter.
- Abyss monsters emerge from opened pits after enough enemies are killed.
- Treasure rewards appear after completing the encounter.
- Stygian Vises and Abyssal Jewels remain part of Abyss rewards.
- Abyss receives updated Atlas Passives and Scarabs.
- A new Abyss Pinnacle Boss and exclusive Unique items are added.
After defeating enough enemies, Abyss monsters emerge from the depths, and completing the encounter rewards players with treasure along the Abyss path. The rework also adds a new Abyss Pinnacle Boss with exclusive Unique items and makes Abyss the primary source of Stygian Vises and Abyssal Jewels.
The Abyss rework in Path of Exile is designed to make encounters faster and reduce unnecessary backtracking while giving the mechanic a stronger identity in endgame farming. Curse of the Allflame Legion Rework
The Legion rework in PoE 3.29 is focused on giving the mechanic more exclusive rewards and reducing outdated systems. Incubators are removed, while new Stygial Unique Items become the main Legion-specific reward. Major Legion changes in Curse of the Allflame include:
- Incubators are removed from Legion rewards.
- Breaking key monsters, chests, and most Legion monsters starts the encounter.
- Legion monsters drop fewer Splinters, but in larger stack sizes.
- Unrelenting Timeless Emblems are removed.
- Effects from Unrelenting Emblems are moved to regular Emblems.
- New Stygial Unique Items are added as Legion rewards.
- Legion Generals can drop Enshrouding Crystals.
- Enshrouding Crystals transform Unique Armour into new Legion-exclusive Unique items.
✏️ You can use Enshrouding Crystals dropped by Legion Generals on Unique Armour pieces, then charge them in the Domain of Timeless Conflict to transform them into new Unique items with special Vestigial modifiers.
These Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame updates make Legion more focused on unique rewards rather than currency farming alone. The new Enshrouding Crystal system adds another item chase to Legion while making encounters faster by reducing the need to fully clear every monster before receiving rewards.
Curse of the Allflame Talisman Rework
PoE Curse of the Allflame Talismans were moved into Bestiary, and their old implicit modifiers were replaced with powerful enchantments. Talismans are now obtained from Red Beasts, with each Beast type having its own possible Talisman base. They are no longer corrupted when dropped, allowing you to craft with them more freely, but they cannot be anointed because their enchantments occupy the same system. Major PoE Curse of the Allflame Talisman changes include:
- Talismans are now exclusive rewards from Red Beasts.
- Each Red Beast type can drop its own Talisman base.
- Talismans no longer drop corrupted.
- Old Talisman implicits are replaced with powerful enchantments.
- Talisman enchantments can provide stronger modifiers than previous implicits.
- Talismans cannot be anointed because enchantments and anointments share the same slot.
- Bestiary Bosses can drop reworked Eyes of the Greatwolf.
- Unique Talismans receive updates and can drop from Bestiary content.
The Talisman rework gives the item class a new role in crafting and character progression. Instead of being mostly forgotten items with fixed corrupted modifiers, Talismans now offer valuable enchantment options that can compete with other powerful equipment bonuses.
Curse of the Allflame Endgame Changes
PoE 3.29 updates introduce several major changes to the endgame systems, with a focus on expanding Atlas. Here we have prepared a list of some of the most impactful endgame changes in Curse of the Allflame League:
- Reflecting Mists and Nameless Seer are moved from regular map encounters into dedicated Anomaly areas.
- Scrying Orbs replace the Nameless Seer’s previous Scrying function.
- Abyss receives a full rework with redesigned encounters and a new Pinnacle Boss.
- Legion receives new endgame rewards through Enshrouding Crystals and Stygial Unique Items.
- Map Reflect modifiers are changed into Physical and Elemental Thorns mechanics instead of direct damage reflection.
These changes give new reasons to interact with Abyss, Legion, and other systems, while the removal of traditional reflect modifiers and changes to special encounters should make mapping more accessible for a wider range of builds. Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame Rewards
The Curse of the Allflame league rewards in PoE include both gameplay rewards from the new mechanics and permanent cosmetic rewards earned through league challenges. Like in previous Path of Exile challenge leagues, you can complete a set of challenges to unlock exclusive microtransaction rewards that remain on your account after the league ends.
The permanent rewards available in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame include:
- Exclusive microtransaction rewards from completing league challenges.
- Hideout decorations earned through challenge milestones.
- League-themed cosmetic items that remain permanently unlocked on the account.
Alongside cosmetic rewards, the league Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame mechanics offer temporary in-game rewards that aid character progression. You can earn Dead Man’s Sulphur for Allflame Crafting, Ducats with unique crafting effects, new Unique items, and rewards from reworked systems such as Abyss, Legion, and Talisman. These gameplay rewards are part of the current league economy, while challenge cosmetics remain available on the account permanently.
Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame Unique Items
PoE Patch 3.29 introduces several new unique item systems that expand the available rewards from the Curse of the Allflame league and its reworked mechanics. The main PoE Curse of the Allflame New Unique additions include:
- Stygial Unique Items from the Legion rework.
- Ducats, new league-exclusive currency items with unique crafting effects.
- New Unique items from the Abyss Pinnacle Boss.
- New Unique items tied to the Curse of the Allflame league mechanic.
- Updated versions of existing Unique items through new crafting systems.
✏️ You can obtain new Ducats through the league mechanic, discover exclusive Uniques from the new Abyss Pinnacle Boss, and earn Stygial Unique Items through the reworked Legion mechanic.
Path of Exile Stygian Unique Items
Path of Exile Stygian Unique Items are a new reward type introduced with the Legion rework in Patch 3.29. They are created by using an Enshrouding Crystal, which can drop from Legion Generals, on a Unique Body Armour. The item becomes Enshrouded and cannot be equipped until it is taken into the Domain of Timeless Conflict, where defeating monsters charges the item.
📌 Once fully charged, it transforms into a different Unique Body Armour that inherits a weaker version of the original item’s signature modifier as an implicit.
The Stygian Unique Items in PoE give you a new way to upgrade existing Unique armours while preserving part of their identity. Because each transformed item depends on the original armour used, Stygian Unique Items add another layer of progression and item hunting to Legion’s endgame rewards.
