Solstice of Heroes 2021 guide 

The Solstice of Heroes is an annual event, and the 14th Season of the Splicer is not an exception. This year’s Solstice of Heroes takes place from July 6 to August 3, 2021.

Here’s the official word from Bungie’s latest press release:

“Each day of the month-long event will be assigned an element. Guardians will need to match their attacks with the daily element in order to charge one of four unique elemental buffs. On Prism days, Guardians can charge all four buffs, but can only activate one at a time.

In addition to the upgradable class-specific Solstice armor, this year’s Solstice of Heroes introduces a new Legendary Shotgun, Exotic Ghost Shell, emblem, and Solstice Packages filled with goodies. Eververse offers up glowing universal ornaments for Silver or Bright Dust, matched to the Guardian’s equipped subclass. New ships, Sparrows, and cosmetics will also be up for collection!”

Eva Levante introduces us to the event, and the guardians are tasked with leveling up the “Renewed” armor set to “Majestic” and eventually to “Magnificent”.

Now we`ll tell you about the available activities and requirements for upgrading each armor set.

ACTIVITIES

EUROPEAN AERIAL ZONE

The European Aerial Zone (EAZ) takes place in the unique area around the European Dead Zone (EDZ), but you access it in the Tower.

In the European Aerial Zone, you need to kill as many minibosses as you can in the given time allotted. When the time runs out, you will encounter the final boss. Kill it and you’ll have access to a reward chest search mode. The more minibosses you kill, the more chests you can find. In 2021, unlike last year’s event, the chest markings on the map won’t disappear after 5 seconds, but stay there for the duration of the quest.

Solstice Packages and Solstice Key Fragments are dropped from the chests. You need 15 Solstice Key Fragments to open the Solstice Packages. You can earn Solstice Key Fragments by completing any quest during a Solstice of Heroes event (such as Gambit, Vanguard Strike, Crucible, etc.).

During the event drops a new Compass Rose shotgun, which is a great PvP choice in a changed meta. Not so long ago, Bungie nerfed the 55 shotguns (Aggressive Frame) by increasing the shot spread and decreasing the effective range, but most importantly, they removed the Quickdraw perk from this shotgun class. After this nullification most players started using 65 shotguns because they still have a chance to get the necessary Quickdraw perk and their effective range is better.

Therefore, there are now three optimal shotguns to use. Against Riiswalker, which you can only farm once every three weeks, and Retold Tale, which has a very low chance of dropping, Compass Rose shotgun is the optimal choice with a high chance to get god roll perks combination.

ELEMENTAL ORBS

Solstice of Heroes has a daily rotating elemental burn, which enhances the powers of Arc, Solar, or Void for the day.

Killing enemies with elemental energy drops an Elemental Orb, which isn’t tied to the burn of the day. But if you collect 30 Elemental Orbs that do match the daily burn, you’ll activate a powerful buff depending on the element.

Here’s what Bungie says about them:

“Equip your Arc subclass and weapons to generate Arc orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Arc elemental power. While empowered, Guardians move with enhanced speed and deal greater melee and Sword damage.

Equip your Solar subclass and weapons to generate Solar orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Solar elemental power. While empowered, Guardians emit a burning wave of energy that damages anything around them.

Equip your Void subclass and weapons to generate Void orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Void elemental power. Crouch while empowered to become invisible and gain Truesight plus enhanced ability regeneration.

Equip your Stasis subclass and weapons to generate Stasis orbs. Stasis empowerment.”
