Home Destiny 2 Destiny 2: Raid and Dungeon Rotation

As part of the current Season of the Haunted (Season 17), Bungie has brought players a new rotation system, which includes both dungeons and raids, as well as all of the challenges related to them. The new system is designed to diversify the content and make the weekly routine of farming raids more exciting and diverse. It is supposed that each week will be available one of the older raids of past seasons. Well, let’s begin and look more closely at what is the new rotation system, what rewards are available, as well as specifically the raid rotation schedule itself.

Raid rotation

So, the raid rotation system now looks like this: two raids are available every week to obtain Pinnacle gear – one of the most recent (like the Vow of the Disciple from Witch Queen) and one of the 4 older raids (Vault of Glass, Deep Stone Crypt, Last Wish and Garden of Salvation). In general, the rotating raid system is a great source of Pinnacle for players who want to get the best gear.

Dungeon Rotation

The system of dungeon rotation is the same as for raids: one new dungeon (i.e. Duality dungeon, which has gotten on many players’ nerves) and one of the four older ones (Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, Prophecy, Grasp of Avarice). Knowing the dungeon rotation schedule, players can track and plan their dives in for highly desired Pinnacle gear. See the schedule below.

For better or worse, dungeon challenges are not active. This means that instead of getting extra gear, in dungeons your main goal is to acquire as many Pinnacles as possible in order to maximize your light level. And don’t forget that passing Grasp of Avarice gives you a chance to get Artifice Armor.

In addition to all of the above, the good news for the Guardians is that all restrictions on Legendary gear rewards in encounters have been removed, so they can be obtained both in raids and dungeons.

And if you like to tickle your nerves and prefer to pass endgame activities on a higher difficulty (this is about a monstrously difficult Master Vault of Glass, for example, about which we have a detailed article) you will certainly enjoy the fact that all raids and dungeons with the gradation of difficulty available in rotation as at the Normal level of difficulty, and at Master level.

In support of our words here is a quote from Bungie:

“Each Season, the newly released raid and dungeon will grant Pinnacle rewards for all encounters. As an example, in Season 17, the Vow of the Disciple and the upcoming dungeon. Outside of these, we’ll have a raid rotator and a dungeon rotator, each offering a Pinnacle reward once completed.

For those wondering about the weekly rotation, this particular inclusion will have a chance to feature all raids and dungeons not listed as the Seasonal rotation. Want to revisit the Vex in Garden of Salvation? Do it! Want to go toe-to-toe with Riven because you like to feel hungry for that wildly impressive (and stressful as all hell for players like me that are prone to panic) final encounter? Weird, but get on with yo’ brave and light-driven self. Get that bread.

Rewards, what’s different there? For the weekly rotation, completing the final encounter in any of the chosen raids or dungeons will award a Pinnacle drop from a Weekly Challenge. For any raid or dungeon that offers a higher difficulty, such as Master Vault of Glass, that higher difficulty will also be available to select should players be itching for an additional challenge.

Oh, wait, you said you liked farming? We got you there too with the new rotator system. All lockouts on encounter rewards for Legendary gear are being removed, which means all Legendary drops in both raids and dungeons will be 100-percent farmable if you so choose. Throw on some lo-fi music, grab a cozy beverage, and farm to your heart’s content. Or don’t, the choice is yours (which is the point!).”

Loot table

For those new to the game and those who have already forgotten what kind of drops you can get in certain activities, here are tables of loot for raids and dungeons.

That’s all, and Overgear as always is ready to help with the most difficult challenges. Follow the links in the names of raids and dungeons and enjoy the content of the game to the maximum. And don’t forget to rate the guide, if our article was useful for you.
