Path of Exile Mirage Release Date

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

The official Path of Exile Mirage release date is March 6, 2026, for PC, Mac, and consoles. On this day, the new Mirage Challenge League will start, where all players start from scratch: new economy, fresh characters, and a separate leaderboard.

As with other Path of Exile leagues, Mirage will be available for approximately 3–4 months. After the season ends, characters and items will automatically be transferred to the Standard League, and some mechanics may be incorporated into the main game cycle.

Path of Exile Mirage Updates

Path of Exile Mirage is a new challenge league in PoE 3.28 that brings fresh gameplay mechanics, new items, reworked endgame systems, and extra build options. Like every seasonal league in Path of Exile, Mirage has its own economy, new activities, and unique rewards that are only available during the season.

The main feature of Mirage is a new league mechanic related to Astral Mirages — distorted copies of the current zone that appear while traversing maps and other locations. In these areas, players encounter additional enemies and modifiers, as well as the opportunity to significantly increase the amount of loot and rewards.

Path of Exile Mirage league includes the following key innovations:

  • New Unique Items related to league mechanics.
  • A League Challenges system with cosmetic rewards.
  • New Skill Gems and Support Gems, including holy-themed ones.
  • a new Ascendancy for the Scion class;
  • changes to Atlas and endgame mapping;
  • a new league boss and unique rewards.

Next, we’ll take a closer look at the most significant new features in PoE 3.28, including new items and build possibilities. But if you want an easier start, consider our League Starter Builds, which will make you fully prepared for the Mirage league.

Path of Exile Mirage New Unique Items

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

One of the main sources of progression in the new league will be Path of Exile Mirage Unique Items. They can be primarily obtained while completing Mirage content and battling enemies from the Astral Realm.

This system is reminiscent of the old Fated Uniques mechanic from Prophecy League, where certain items could be transformed into new versions with enhanced effects. For example, one of the items presented is Fleshrender, which can be upgraded to the more powerful Skysunder using a Coin of Restoration.

In addition to the upgrade system, new PoE Mirage Unique Items can be obtained:

  • From enemies in Astral Mirage encounters;
  • From rewards for freeing Djinn;
  • From the new Mirage boss;
  • From other activities enhanced by Mirage mechanics.

In Mirage, you will be able to find special currency items called Coins of Restoration. These coins allow you to upgrade certain Unique Items, turning them into more powerful versions with new properties and stronger modifiers. These items often receive unique mechanics that directly interact with new league systems or support new Skill Gems and build archetypes.

Path of Exile Mirage League Challenges

As in any Path of Exile challenge league, Path of Exile Mirage will feature a League Challenges system — a set of seasonal tasks that can be completed to earn exclusive cosmetic rewards.

Each league usually includes 40 challenges related to various aspects of the gameplay: completing league mechanics, killing bosses, completing endgame content, and using new upgrade systems. In Mirage, a significant portion of the challenges will be directly related to the new Astral Mirage mechanics and interacting with its rewards. By completing Mirage challenges, players will be able to:

  • Complete Mirage encounters and free Djinn;
  • Defeat new enemies and league bosses;
  • Interact with new currency and unique items;
  • Explore the updated Atlas and mapping systems.

Traditionally, rewards for Path of Exile League Challenges are distributed in stages. For completing a certain number of tasks, players receive Path of Exile Mirage cosmetic items, such as:

  • MTX armor pieces;
  • character effects;
  • portal effects;
  • league trophies for hideouts.

Key rewards are usually given out for approximately 12, 24, and 36 challenges, and completing all challenges allows you to receive the final seasonal trophy. You can easily complete all League Challenges with us and get tons of rewards. These rewards remain on your account forever and serve as proof of your participation in the league.

Path of Exile New Skills

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

In the Path of Exile Mirage 3.28 update, we get several new Skill Gems and a rework for some of the existing skills. The main focus of this league is on holy themes, so many of the new abilities are related to divine energy, light strikes, and the summoning of sacred weapons.

The new skills expand the possibilities for builds, especially for characters who use melee slam abilities, light spells, or charge-related mechanics. For example, one of the new skills is Holy Hammers, which allows you to create a series of strikes that spread between enemies and deal additional damage along the chain.

In addition to completely new skills, some old skills are being reworked. One example is Sweep, which has been updated and turned into Holy Sweep with new mechanics and additional area attacks.

Path of Exile New Ascendancy

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

One of the most interesting innovations in Path of Exile Mirage is the new Ascendancy for the Scion class. Unlike other classes, the Scion traditionally receives flexible development options, and the new specialization continues this concept, offering additional opportunities for build customization.

The new Path of Exile Mirage Ascendancy allows players to combine different mechanics and enhance existing archetypes. This allows the Scion to better adapt to different types of builds, from spells and totems to offensive or hybrid options. However, you can also get Bloodline Ascendancy with the help of our team to empower your desired character.

Path of Exile Mirage Gems

The 3.28 update adds several new Path of Exile Skill Gems and expands build customization options. The focus is on new active skills and an additional category of Support Gems that allow you to enhance existing abilities in new ways. Mirage focuses on two areas in particular:

  • Holy Skill Gems, which add new active abilities themed around divine energy;
  • New Support Gems, which expand the skill support system and allow for deeper build customization.

These gems work with both new skills and many existing Skill Gems, opening up additional combinations and new ways to scale damage. If you need any gems, ask, and our pro players will get you what you want.

Path of Exile New Holy Skill Gems

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

In Path of Exile Mirage, developers are adding several new Holy Skill Gems that introduce abilities based on divine energy and light strikes to the game. These skills are geared toward aggressive gameplay and often deal area damage or cause additional effects around the character.

Some Holy skills allow you to summon divine weapons, strike an area, or release powerful flashes of light that affect groups of enemies. These skills suit well for builds that use melee attacks, as well as hybrid builds that combine physical and elemental damage.

Path of Exile New Support Gems

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

In addition to new active skills, Mirage adds a series of 40 new Path of Exile Support Gems that significantly expand build customization options. Many of them belong to the Exceptional Support Gems category — a special type of support with stronger or unique effects. These gems mainly drop from Atlas Bosses and other endgame content.

Path of Exile Mirage Mechanics

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

The main feature of Path of Exile Mirage is a new league mechanic that adds an extra element of activity when progressing through maps and other areas. In various locations, you’ll find locked Mirage Djinn, Afarud enemies, and special events that unlock access to a corrupted version of the current area.

The main elements of the Mirage League mechanic in Path of Exile include:

  • Special Mirage encounters on maps;
  • Transition to the alternative Astral Mirage realm;
  • A system of enhancements through Wishes;
  • Unique rewards and Djinn Coins.

Inside the Mirage, you’ll face more powerful enemies, extra dangers, and better rewards. These areas work as an alternate version of the current zone, where you can get more loot, currency, and unique items.

Path of Exile How Mirage Encounters Work

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

While traversing zones and maps in Path of Exile Mirage, you may encounter special events called Mirage encounters. These events involve captured Djinns who create distorted copies of the surrounding area. Inside the Mirage, you must:

  • Fight enhanced monsters;
  • Avoid astral hazards;
  • Defeat the Afarud mages who are holding the Djinn captive.

When you fight enemies close to the chains that hold the captured Djinn, you “clear” the mirage and free the captured creature. The more difficult the encounter and the more enemies you defeat inside Mirage, the higher the chance of receiving rare rewards, including league currency and unique items.

Path of Exile How to Enter the Astral Mirage

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

To start an encounter, you need to interact with a Mirage point in Path of Exile 3.28. This opens the Astral Mirage,  which is an alternate version of the current zone where new enemies appear, along with additional dangers and modifiers. Remember to Level Up first to be able to complete this league’s mechanics.

Path of Exile Wishes

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

Path of Exile Mirage has a system of enhancements associated with Varashta. This system allows you to change the properties of Mirage encounters and receive additional bonuses before entering the Astral Mirage. After freeing the Djinn, the player can choose one of several Wishes. Each Wish adds additional effects:

  • Increase the number of enemies inside the Mirage;
  • Increase rewards for completing encounters;
  • Add additional modifiers to the area.

Wishes also have related Sigils (at the bottom of the Wish window), which describe the effect of the wish and explain which Djinn Coin will drop in the Mirage. Thanks to the Wish modifiers system, you can partially control the difficulty of Mirage and choose riskier options for better loot.

Path of Exile Mirage Boss

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

As you progress through Mirage encounters, you attract the attention of the league’s main antagonist and a new Pinnacle boss — Saresh, a powerful necromancer associated with the forces of Afarud. He is responsible for harnessing the energy of the Djinn and creating the Mirage. Defeating Saresh can deliver some of the best Mirage rewards, including:

  • Rare Unique Items;
  • New league currency;
  • Valuable endgame rewards.

Path of Exile Mirage Atlas Changes

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

In the new Mirage league, Path of Exile Atlas is getting several interesting changes that will affect gameplay, namely:

  • Fractured Atlas;
  • Shaped Regions;
  • Memory Vaults.

Additionally, among the key Path of Exile 3.28 Atlas changes is the new logic for using Map Items. Now, a map of a certain level can open any area of the Atlas of the same or lower map tier.

The Atlas structure has also been updated. Now you start your exploration from the center of the PoE Atlas, with four Voidstones located at its corners. This makes progression more understandable and allows you to navigate endgame content more quickly.

In addition, the system for earning Atlas Skill Points in PoE 3.28 has been redesigned. You no longer need to complete all Unique Maps to earn the maximum number of points. Now, you only need to complete any 10 unique maps, which greatly simplifies Atlas progression. Or just ask our team to take care of it.

Fractured Atlas

In PoE Mirage, Atlas is presented in a new form known as Fractured Atlas. All activities that you can launch via the Map Device are now physically displayed on Atlas. This makes the system more intuitive and allows you to find the content you need more easily.

Shaped Regions

One of the new systems in Mirage is Shaped Regions, special unstable areas of the Atlas. In these regions, maps receive a base modifier that affects all areas within the region. As you progress through the region, the difficulty gradually increases, making these areas a good source of loot and a test for strong builds.

Memory Vaults

After completing a Shaped Region, the player gains access to special locations called Memory Vaults. There are four Vaults available in Mirage, each containing rare rewards and additional progression elements.

Path of Exile Mirage League Rewards

Path of Exile Mirage Overview

As with other leagues, you can loot Path of Exile Mirage after completing Mirage encounters, killing enemies in the Astral Mirage, and participating in endgame content. The 3.28 PoE rewards include:
