Vesper’s Host Release Date
Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host dungeon was released on October 11, 2024, at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET.
How to Start Vesper’s Host
Before you can start Vesper’s Host you need to get the Rogue Network quest from Spider. To find Spider head to the Last City social hub. And once the quest is in your inventory you can launch the dungeon.
You need to have the Final Shape DLC or a Final Shape Dungeon Key to access Vesper’s Host.
How to Prepare for Vesper’s Host Dungeon
There are some requirements to start and be able to complete Vesper’s Host dungeon, besides the fact that all three team members must own the Final Shape DLC or a Final Shape Dungeon Key:
Recommended Power Level: 1985 Light.
Vesper’s Host Recommended Loadouts
Like Destiny’s 2 six-player activities and Echoes Battlegrounds, Vesper’s Host has an exceptionally high enemy density. So, you need a build and weapons capable of eliminating dozens of Fallen. Here, well-known ones like Sunshot, Trinity Ghoul, and Graviton Forfeit will flourish. The best choice for Vesper’s Host dungeon is. to prioritize Hand Cannons or any Solar weapon that uses Incandescent for Legendary picks.
Recommended Subclasses
| Hunter | Titan | Warlock |
|---|---|---|
| Nightstalker | Sunbreaker | Dawnblade |
| Prismatic (Comb Blow) | Prismatic (Consecration) | Prismatic (Bleak Watcher) |
Recommended Weapons
| Primary | Special | Heavy |
|---|---|---|
| Hand Cannons | Sniper Rifles | Wave-Frame Grenade Launchers |
| Incandescent Weapons | Rocket Sidearms | Parasite (Raneiks) |
| Riskrunner | Glaives | Grand Overture (Atraks) |
Use Riskrunner if you are dying frequently. The majority of the enemies in this dungeon deal arc damage, but Arc Conductor gives you a huge DR boost against it.
Bring Parasite, a Heavy Wave-Frame Grenade Launcher, or a build that deals great AoE damage, like Consecration Titan, for the second encounter in particular. Also, the last encounter will be much easier. Use Nightstalker build for Hunters and for Warlocks we recommend Dawnblade and Prismatic builds, like Getaway Artist or Bleak Watcher, for instance.
Vesper’s Host Contest Mode
Vesper’s Host is the first dungeon in Destiny 2 with the Contest Mode enabled. Moreover, there is Vesper’s Host World’s First Race.
The Contest Mode Duration is 48 hours, ending on October 13, 2024, at 10 am PT.
This year, Bungie announced that for those who don’t want to participate in Contest Mode the Normal Mode will be available as soon as the first three teams clear the dungeon.
Completing Vesper’s Host dungeon during the first 48 hours will grant you “bragging rights”, a special emblem, and the dungeon Exotic weapon as a guaranteed reward during Contest Mode. As it’s not available now, our team is ready to get you the Dungeon Report badge with chance to obtain this Ice Braker Exotic by completing Vesper’s Host Solo Flawless.
But be aware as with the raids in Destiny 2, Vesper’s Host Contest Mode brings some very specific rules:
- First, your character’s Power doesn’t provide any advantage if your Power Level is above the 1985.
- In some encounters may appear Enrage mechanic that limits the number of phases or the time you have left.
- Enemies are more aggressive, but you have resurrection tokens you can get during the encounters.
Vesper’s Host Dungeon Walkthrough
Vesper’s Host dungeon is one of the most exciting and difficult additions to Destiny 2 in 2024. It requires accuracy, cooperation, and mastery because of its complex mechanics, unrelenting enemies, and unusual encounters. Every aspect of the dungeon’s mechanics and detailed walkthrough is covered in this guide, so you and your fireteam will win.
Vesper’s Host Core Mechanics
Before diving into the encounters, it’s crucial to learn the dungeon’s core mechanics. These concepts appear throughout the activity and serve as the foundation for solving puzzles and defeating enemies in Vesper’s Host.
Originally introduced in the Deep Stone Crypt raid, augments return with new functionalities:
- Scanner: Equip the yellow Scanner augment to locate important panels. Panels glow yellow on your radar, but you must approach them to confirm if they’re actionable (they turn white when valid). Share this information with the Operator.
- Operator: With the red Operator augment, your role is to shoot the panels identified by the Scanner. Precision is essential—shooting the wrong panel wipes your team.
- Suppressor: The blue Suppressor augment lets you control invulnerable enemies. Deploy holograms by pressing your grenade button. Enemies are drawn to these holograms, and shooting the hologram detonates it, rendering nearby foes vulnerable.
Also, you should consider timers and augment depots. Note that each augment has a timer displayed on your HUD. If the timer expires, you’ll die, so refresh your augment at designated depots to reset the countdown.
Another part of the mechanics is that there are a lot of puzzles throughout the Vesper’s Host dungeon. These puzzles require interacting with numbered panels and nuclear cores:
- Panels: Look for numbered panels scattered across rooms. The Scanner identifies the correct ones, while the Operator shoots them.
- Nuclear Cores: These radioactive objects must be carried to designated deposit points. You’ll accumulate radiation stacks while holding a core, dying upon reaching 10 stacks. Coordinate with teammates to pass or drop the core to manage the radiation.
Embarkment Encounter
Begin on the walkway outside the dungeon’s station. Then, you proceed into a large container-filled room where enemies spawn. Augments appear early, so you need to assign roles:
- The Scanner identifies three panels that turn white on their radar.
- The Operator shoots the three panels in sequence to open the door at the back.
Progress through the opened door to the next area, where the dungeon’s first major encounter awaits.
First Encounter Activation
First, you’ll face a room with three side chambers and a central spherical structure. Your main objective here is to deposit three nuclear cores at marked locations. To complete the Activation encounter you need to:
- Clear the room: A Brig spawns in the center. Eliminate it while defeating surrounding enemies to retrieve the Scanner augment.
- Enter side chambers: Each chamber contains panels and enemies. The Scanner identifies four panels to be shot by the Operator, unlocking a nuclear core.
- Transport nuclear cores: Carry the cores to their deposits in the main room. Be mindful of radiation stacks and enemy resistance.
- Final core challenge: The last core spawns a larger, tougher Brig. Defeat it to deposit the core and proceed.
After completing the Activation encounter you will receive your first Vesper’s Host reward. To move forward to the second encounter, just go through the back right door.
Second Encounter Infiltration
This encounter introduces Power Reserves, and you should learn how to use them. This mechanic requiring careful door management:
- Each door costs one Power Reserve to open, replenished by closing doors or activating shield generators.
Your goal is to retrieve five nuclear cores and deposit them in the correct sequence:
- Navigate the corridors: Open and close doors strategically to maintain Power Reserves. Follow the glowing red lights to locate Captains carrying cores.
- Deposit cores sequentially: Place each core in the deposit box matching its number. Stay alert for ambushing enemies and the Servitor boss, which harasses you throughout.
After depositing the fifth core, a big door next to you will open. The boss is right there. He will start throwing explosives into your room, so you need to wait for your break. Once the boss stops dropping bombs, run for it to finish this encounter. After that, all you have to do is run into this room a little to the left and drop down into a hole – the path to the next encounter.
Third Encounter Raneiks Unified
The third encounter is the first Vesper’s Host boss fight. The Servitor amalgamation Raneiks Unified from the previous encounters awaits, and to defeat it, you should:
- Clear enemies and retrieve augments: Suppressor and Operator augments play critical roles. Deploy holograms to divide Raneiks into smaller Servitors, each marked with a number. This number corresponds to numbered pannels. You need to defeat a Machine Priest near the back of the room to transport to the upper level with boss.
- Identify and shoot panels: The Scanner identifies the numbered Servitors you need to target. Relay this to the Operator to shoot the corresponding panels.
- Damage phase: After shooting the correct panels, Raneiks descends and becomes vulnerable. Use high-damage, area-of-effect weapons to maximize DPS.
Repeat these steps until the boss is defeated.
Final Encounter The Corrupted Puppeteer
The dungeon culminates in an epic fight against the Corrupted Puppeteer, the final boss of Vesper’s Host, combining mechanics from earlier encounters with new challenges.
Phase 1: Augments and Pillars
- Defeat irradiated puppets to retrieve Scanner and Operator augments.
- Use Scanner to identify a numbered pillar. The Operator must shoot all corresponding panels.
- The boss flees to lower levels after all panels are activated.
Phase 2: Lower Levels
In mirrored combat rooms:
- Retrieve stored augments and use them to identify the correct puppet for Scanner and Operator tasks.
- Defeat the correct puppet to generate a nuclear core. Deposit it in the room’s bunker to trigger an explosion, halving the boss’s shield.
Repeat in the second combat room to break the boss’s shield completely.
Phase 3: Rooftop Battle
Ascend to the roof for the final DPS phase. Here, you’ll contend with lightning strikes, puppet clones, and a bunker mechanic:
- Deal damage to the boss while avoiding lightning.
- Watch for a glowing puppet carrying a nuclear core. Deposit it in the bunker to survive the boss’s wipe mechanic.
Continue dealing damage and repeating mechanics until the Corrupted Puppeteer is defeated. The lucky ones will receive the Ice Breaker as a reward. Our you can use our service to get the Ice Breaker with ease.
Vesper’s Host Secret Chest Locations
The first secret chest is located during the Traversal section, where you deposit Nuclear Cores, not long after the first encounter. Once you’ve reached the fourth Nuclear Core deposit box, keep going until you encounter a section covered in debris. Look for a door on your left after you’ve jumped over the debris and enter the room. You can find the first secret chest inside.
To find the second secret chest you need to head back to the room with the tripmine grenades after defeating the Machine Priest. One of the rooms used to be locked. And now, you can unlocking the door and find the secret chest inside.
