4.9Where to Get Strange Coins
In The Final Shape, the main source of Strange Coins are Ritual Playlists activities, including Vanguard Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible. So far, it seems that the most efficient way to get Strange Coins is to complete Crucible. You will get 4 Strange Coins for one Crucible match win, and only 2 for a Crucible loss. So you need to complete an average of 6 matches to buy a Legendary Weapon from Xur.
If you’re not a big fan of PvP, the easiest way to farm Strange Coins is by Vanguard Ops and Onslaught. You will also receive about 4 Coins for each activity completed, but it will definitely take more time.

What is the Limit of Strange Coin Destiny 2?
In The Final Shape you can accumulate 99 Strange Coins at once.
