What are the missions
Most of the missions can be found on the map or taken from NPCs. At the beginning of the game you will have a huge selection of missions, but in the end-game you will be able to fight with other players at most.
Contracts
The NPCs that are found in safe locations often hand out missions. The guardian will receive experience, resources, and possibly ammunition for completing them. The reward depends entirely on the difficulty of the quest. It is best to pay attention to more difficult tasks, because there and the reward is more attractive.
Regularly visit the NPCs to complete daily bounties.
NPCs
You can get your first bounties from the vendor Shaw Han in the Tower. He will also tell the New Light Guardians all the details about how to manage the bounties.
In the Tower you will meet other important NPCs as well:

Banshee-44 gives fledgling Guardians a new Kinetic weapon to replace their first. Equipping it begins the incremental process of increasing Power level with new gear.
Commander Zavala issues Guardians a quest to take on a Vanguard strike, which is initiated in the Destinations tab of the Director. He also grants several immediate rewards, like a new Ghost Shell and shader.
Ikora Rey, found in the Bazaar, is the Warlock Vanguard. She directs you to travel to the European Dead Zone to rendezvous with Devrim Kay. Doing so will introduce you to free-roaming activities.
Lord Shaxx provides Crucible (PVP) bounties and offers special Quests related to various weapons. Like Zavala, he can grant immediate rewards and he voices most Crucible matches apart from Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris.
The Drifter is an important NPC for the Beyond Light expansion and is the Gambit activity host. Like Shaxx, he offers Gambit bounties that allows you to powerful and collect various Gambit themed weapons and gear.
Amanda Holliday is the Tower’s chief shipwright, so she’s naturally found in the Hangar on the east side. Amanda allows you to purchase ships and vehicles. Other goods may be handled by Amanda so check with her from time to time.
Vanguard Strikes
Zavala gives guardians tasks, which are divided into single and cooperative raids. The reward depends on the player’s speed and efficiency.
Adventures
Adventures are long quests with a unique storyline. On the map they are marked with an orange colored sword. These missions are useful in that they allow you to understand in detail the events of the game, and why the world was on the brink of total destruction. In addition, for the passage of given engrams with good equipment.
Lost Sectors
The Lost Sector is a type of PvE activity. It represents a hidden dungeon or a separate location with a large number of enemies, a boss, and a locked treasure chest. The Lost Sector can be done alone or by a group of three Guardians. You will find several Lost Sectors on each planet. Once a Lost Sector is found, it is marked on the map and can be visited again and again. Why do that? Because at the end of each closure you will be rewarded with a loot chest. It is worth noting that not every Lost Sector is always open. The Lost Sectors have variations of increased difficulty – Legendary and Master.
In Lost sectors of increased difficulty you can farm unique exotic armor items. Lost Sectors reset every day at 9AM Pacific, which means that after 9AM the old Sectors are closed (or the reward and difficulty change) and the new Sectors are opened. This way you don’t have to get bored and go through the same sector to get different gear.
Before you can start to clear the Lost Sectors, you must first complete the campaign, and you must complete each Lost Sector once to knock out exotics.
The first Lost Sector can be found on the map near the Forgotten Coast at the Cosmodrome. Once you are in the area, look for the Lost Sector icon – this is how the entrance is marked.
Events
At mass events you need to complete a task. It is specified in the conditions of the event. However, this is not the only option for passing. You can activate the heroic mode, which will increase the reward. It is triggered if you do not do something. The game itself doesn’t say anything about it, so experienced players find loopholes by trial and error. Strictly speaking, the very essence of Destiny 2 is based on the fact that players are constantly learning how to find ways and options to get through the game. Thanks to the close-knit and active Destiny 2 community, every new event in the game turns into a fascinating competition between the guardians for the right of superiority in solving the next event.
Raids
This is a high-level mission that takes place several times to gain a specific slot. A raid is the fastest way to level up in the end-game. To complete a raid, assemble a team that includes 6 guardians and learn the specifics of the raid beforehand. The main problem for players becomes a powerful boss, it is enough to hit the Guardian a couple of times to kill him. The slightest mistake will cost the entire team their lives, which means you have to pass the level all over again. Beside the boss raids are difficult because it requires the team members coordinated and refined actions, which is extremely difficult to achieve with random teammates. Typically raids consist of several stages, which require the Guardians to demonstrate proficiency in various aspects and skills of the game, even such a basic skill for Destiny 2 as jumping on platforms can become a severe test.
The Crucible
This is a location for fights between players. Fans of PvP content will appreciate the modes on offer. Now, there are several modes available in the Pit:
- Countdown. Attackers place a bomb while defenders try to stop them and save the base.
- Control. 2 teams must capture 2 out of 3 points to get points. The squad with the most points wins.
- Skirmish. In this mode you have a limited number of lives. You have a total of 8 lives. You must destroy all enemies to win.
- Dueling. You need to kill as many enemies as possible in the allotted time.
- Fast Play. All benefits from the strength of the players are off, so both experienced players and beginners meet here.
- Competitive game. 3 vs 3 PvP game mode where guardians fight to obtain glory points.
Gambit
This is something between PvP and PvE mode. In it, the world is divided into 2 similar halves, on which spawned mobs. Your squad must summon and eliminate the boss. From time to time a portal will open between the worlds, through which a player of the enemy team can pass.Try to kill him immediately, otherwise you’ll be in trouble. It’s a fascinating and somewhat exhausting battle for the spiritually strong Guardians.
The Trials of Osiris
The Trials of Osiris is a competitive mode in which two teams of three players fight with a limited number of lives in Elimination format. The event starts every Friday after the reset and runs all weekend until the reset on Tuesday.
Trials is the most challenging PvE content in the game, but the rewards for completing flawless are also worth the effort.
Can I play Destiny 2 campaign solo?
Although the first three campaigns of Destiny 2: Red War, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind were removed with the release of the Beyond Light, making it problematic for newcomers to experience the content, getting into gameplay as a solo beginner is easy enough. Bungie has raised the base power level to 1,100, which is the recommended power level for starting Destiny 2 DLC campaigns, Lost Sectors, community events, and Vanguard Strikes. For single players, this means instant access to the Forsaken, the Shadowkeep and the Beyond Light expansion campaign missions. These missions are structured similarly to campaigns in traditional single-player games, which means that single-players will be able to complete them without assistance. Similarly, single-player players can get through the Lost Sectors scattered throughout Destiny 2’s seven planets without additional help.
However, each season of Destiny 2 offers unique storylines that evolve as different weekly missions are completed. Although the seasonal missions are available to players of any level, there is a recommended level for each mission. Low-level players can complete six-player missions, but they must reach the maximum light level for that season to comfortably complete the single missions. For example, the “soft cap” for the current Season of the Lost season is 1,270. This does not mean that season missions are unavailable to players with less light levels, just that it will be harder to complete them solo.
How do you get good gear in Destiny 2 for beginners?
Now we can finally talk about the most exciting part of any MMO: the loot.
The game is famous for having hundreds of weapons and other gear available.
Like most MMO games, items have a class, but the most significant are legendary and exotic items. Your level of light depends on the items you are wearing, and as you already know it is crucial for the content of the game.
An important role when choosing a cherished weapon is not so much the basic characteristics, as the perks, which makes the pursuit of cherished items even more exciting – depending on the wishes of the same weapon can be ideal for PvP or PvE, depending on the perks.
On our site you can find several articles with an analysis of the actual weapons of the Season of the Lost, for example, or details of the Master Vault of Glass raid with the loot table in it.
