The Burning Crusade Reputation Basics

The Burning Crusade Reputation Guide

In TBC Anniversary reputations are a system of relations between players and in-game factions. The reputation level determines the availability of faction and world quests, unique faction-related gear and recipes, and overall progress. All the available factions are described further in this TBC Classic reputation guide.

The level of relations with a particular faction is located in the Reputation interface. You can find it at the bottom of the UI — Character Interface (default keybind C). Click the middle tab at the bottom of the Character Interface to see your Reputation interface. Scroll it down to see all the WoW TBC reputations.

📌 Some of the reputations will not appear until you interact with the related faction during gameplay.

The Burning Crusade Reputation Bar

The Burning Crusade Reputation Guide

The Reputation Bar for each faction indicates your current standing with that faction. It also shows you the amount of experience you need to reach the next level of the relationship and is applicable to all factions that we discuss in this TBC reputation guide. There are 8 levels of reputation in total:

  1. Hated. Points required: 0 — 36000. Kill on sight. Enemy city and PvP factions are set to this permanently.
  2. Hostile. Points required: 36000 — 39000. Kill on sight.
  3. Unfriendly. Points required: 39000 — 42000. Unable to buy, sell, or interact with members.
  4. Neutral. Points required: 42000 — 45000. Starting standing for general factions.
  5. Friendly. Points required: 45000 — 51000. Starting standing for factions of allied cities.
  6. Honored. Points required: 51000 — 63000. 10% discount on items from their vendors.
  7. Revered. Points required: 63000 — 84000.
  8. Exalted. Points required: 84000. Highest attainable ranking. Access to special perks like mounts and tabards.

Clicking on The Burning Crusade Anniversary reputation will open a short Reputation description and three checkbox options:

  • At War: When checked, this allows you to attack members of that faction if they are not already hostile toward you. Killing members of a faction will reduce your standing with them.
  • Move to Inactive: When checked, the Reputation Bar is removed from the list under its expansion and added to an Inactive list at the very bottom of the Reputations list.
  • Show as Experience Bar: When checked, this adds the Reputation bar to your UI directly above your Experience Bar.

This last feature is very useful. For example, let’s say you want to enter a Heroic dungeon. To do this, you need a Quartermaster Key. You can only purchase a key from him if you have a reputation of Revered (Honored in a future phase) or higher with his faction.

The Burning Crusade All Reputations

In TBC Anniversary, you can build up relationships with lots of factions through all the phases. The Burning Crusade reputations can be separated into several categories:

  • Dungeon Reputations: Honor Hold or Thrallmar, Cenarion Expedition, Lower City, The Sha’tar, Keepers of Time.
  • Raid Reputations: Ashtongue Deathsworn, Shattered Sun Offensive, The Scale of the Sands, The Violet Eye.
  • Zone Reputations: Kurenai, The Mag’har, Netherwing, Ogri’la, The Aldor, The Scryers, Sha’tari Skyguard, Sporeggar, The Consortium, Tranquillien.

📌 Be careful: The Aldor and The Scryers are the factions that conflict with each other, and gaining reputation with one faction means losing it with an opposing faction.

The Burning Crusade Dungeon Reputations

Some factions in TBC Anniversary are closely related to dungeons and dungeon attunements. Farming Exalted reputation with Honor Hold or Thrallmar, Cenarion Expedition, Lower City, The Sha’tar, and Keepers of Time grants you access to clusters of dungeons. E.g., getting exalted with the Honor Hold or Thrallmar allows you to complete Hellfire Ramparts, The Blood Furnace, and The Shattered Halls.
