Welcome to another Overgear guide where you can find out more about Path of Exile, the game with insane flexibility and no limits. You are the one who decides how to build your unique character through the game. Nevertheless, some builds to offer more efficiency than others and this is why we are here. Today we are going to discuss the Venom Gyre Berserker Build. Make yourself comfortable, we are about to start!
Venom Gyre Berserker Build Pros and Cons
At the very beginning, we want to show you some powerful sides of the build and its drawbacks.
Pros
Cons
Pretty tanky build
High cost
High Chaos damage
A lot of skills to be used
Bossekiller build
Players may have mana issues
Awesome clear speed
It is impossible to create an ideal build in the game. No matter how much players try, the final result reveals some flaws. In this particular case, the only problem that may irritate experienced players is neither the price of the build nor the number of buttons to press but the occasional mana thirst that happens from time to time. Other than that this build offers decent gameplay. Talking about that… It’s high time to get acquainted with its playstyle and mechanics!
Venom Gyre Build is presented with a pretty unique gameplay experience. Projectile Attacks that you launch, return to you in a boomerang style dealing 70% less damage. Once caught they can be launched once again by using Whirling Blades. The Projectiles launched by this Attack do not return and travel in a different pattern. Venom Gyre converts 60% of all Physical Damage to Chaos. Moreover, there is a 40% on-hit chance to apply Poison.
Stacking Strength is a very important thing about this build. This Attribute provides a lot of flat Damage via The Iron Fortress which increases melee physical damage per every 10 Strength character has. Another important component is increasing already existing damage. Anomalus Withering Step, Blood Rage, Ancestral Protector, and Battlemage’s Cry will help you with that.
Talking about defense, the build has a decent Life Pool, Fortify, a lot of Armour, Evasion Rating, Block Chance, and 100% Spell Suppression Chance. The Purity of Elements makes the character immune to Elemental Ailments.
The pattern of skills usage varies from the content you play. When mapping, just use Whirling Blades to move on while attacking Venom Gyre. During Boss fights, it is a good idea to dash forward and backward with Whirling Blades. All your stored Projectiles can literally melt your target if you are close enough to it. Sniper’s Mark, Fork, and Chain allow you to create more Projectiles. The number of Projectiles is a very important part of single-target fights.
Venom Gyre Berserker Leveling Tips
We do not recommend you to level up as Venom Gyre as it only becomes good later when you can consistently pair it with Whirling Blades to generate Projectiles. To minimize the number of Orbs of Regrets you will need in the future we recommend picking an Attack that would synergize well with nodes at the bottom of the Skill Tree. Splitting Steel is one of the best options. It is a Projectile Attack with great AoE. Using it together with a Redbeak Sword will help you to deal decent Physical Damage. This is one of the best leveling setups in the Path of Exile. You can consider switching to Venom Gyre at around ~1000 Strength and with mandatory Items acquired – Replica Alberon’s Warpath and Redblade Banner.

Venom Gyre Berserker Gear and Stats
You will need a lot of Strength, up to 2000. It grants you more Block Chance, Damage, Maximum Life, and other useful bonuses depending on your gear. The drawback is that getting the increased Strength Implicit modifier on your Synthesized Jewelry will make this build cost arm and leg. Attack Speed and Critical Strike modifiers provide a lot of impacts too. For defenses you’ll need Maximum Life and Spell Suppression Chance – you can also stack up some extra Dexterity due to Magebane’s effect. Also, trying to get some Armour and Evasion Rating is a great idea as the Auras themselves won’t grant you enough. The build uses many Unique Jewels and three Unique gear pieces – Redblade Banner, The Iron Fortress, and Replica Alberon’s Warpath. The Boots you are going to use are very expensive too. You will definitely want to craft the reduced Mana Cost of Skills modifier into your Amulet and Rings. As it has already been said you may occasionally face mana issues. Note that this suggested build requires 111 Intelligence. Also, make sure you Cap your resistance at 75%. You should follow these stat priorities when you choose your gear:

Elemental Resistances
Strength
Attack Speed
