HOME Path of Exile Builds Tornado Shot Build

The Tornado Shot build in the Path of Exile Necropolis League will be one of the best builds, as in the Affliction League previously. And even now, in patch 3.24, players are enjoying this strongest build despite some nerfs. This guide will deal with Tornado Shot’s mechanics, the playstyle, the recommended Ascendancy points, and the multiple passive skill tree builds throughout the progression of the character. Tornado Shot Build Pros and Cons

Here we will cover all the strengths and weaknesses of the Tornado Shot build with Deadeye as an example according to the current meta.

ProsCons
Fast-paced gameplay: No time to stop, run and kill enemies.Low survivability: Due to the “kill or be killed” playstyle, this build prioritizes damage and offers minimal defensive options.
Good map clearer: 3.24 Tornado Shot Deadeye is one of the best map clearers.Limited solo damage: While sufficient for regular Atlas encounters, this build might struggle against Uber bosses.
Easy early game and good league starter: After getting your first Ascendancy, you can progress quickly through the 10 acts and into maps.High resource consumption: For less experienced players, the gap between the initial and the average version of the build may seem difficult to achieve.

Tornado Shot Build Mechanics

There are some key mechanics in this build you should know:

  • Accuracy: This is a very important stat for PoE Tornado Shot build. You must have 100% accuracy to ensure all your attacks and most projectiles from Tornado Shot hit enemies.
  • Critical Strike Chance and Multiplier: Aim for at least 70-80% critical strike chance and a minimum critical strike multiplier of 450. More critical strikes result in significantly higher damage output.
  • Spell Suppression: This is a crucial defensive mechanic. However, due to the passive skill tree, the new Primalist Ascendancy, and charms, reaching 100% Spell Suppression is relatively easy. Additional options include boots with the “Suppress Spell Damage” modifier or a flask with the “Suppress Spell Damage” effect.
  • Evasion: Another important defensive mechanic. You can increase your evasion rating through the passive PoE Deadeye Tornado Shot build skill tree, armor investment, using a Jade Flask, and the Grace gem. Higher evasion translates to a lower chance of being hit by physical attacks. Strive to maintain at least 75% Evasion in most maps. However, be mindful of map modifiers that increase monster accuracy, which can temporarily reduce your effective evasion.
  • Life and Mana Leech: Due to the high attack speed and numerous projectiles of Tornado Shot, both Life Leech and Mana Leech provide the build with a reliable source of resource recovery.

Magic Find Tornado Shot

Why include a Magic Find specification in the endgame variations of the build? Along with the new Necropolis League, the Magic Find builds have become much more viable and this has led to a surge in demand for such builds. By taking advantage of the mechanics of the current league, even a midgame version of the build can achieve profitable outcomes.

Nevertheless, the best Magic Find build can be seen in the final variation, and Tornado Shot turns up as one of the best choices because of its talent to clear large areas by projectile coverage. If you want to get this Tornado Shot MF build with ease, just use our service.

The key objective is to gather as many yellow wisps as possible in the Viridian Wildpool, as they provide increased quantity. While purple wisps offer rarity boosts, which are slightly inferior but still valuable. Blue wisps primarily enhance currency drop rates, thus prioritizing the collection order: Yellow > Purple > Blue.

Mapping

There are some modifiers you should avoid:

  • Players have #% reduced effect of Non-curse Auras from skills (limits the effectiveness of aura support gems).
  • Monsters reflect #% of elemental/physical damage (deals significant damage back to the player).
  • Players have #% less accuracy rating (reduces your chance to hit enemies).
  • Players have a chance to dodge (increases the chance of attacks missing).
  • Monsters have #% increased accuracy rating (makes enemies more likely to hit you).

Tornado Shot Build Ascendancy

Tornado Shot Build

  • Gathering Winds: This Ascendancy passive significantly increases your movement speed and grants a smaller boost to attack speed.
  • Far Shot: As the name suggests, this passive increases your damage based on the distance your projectiles travel, rewarding a more precise playstyle.
  • Endless Munitions: This passive grants you two additional projectiles, significantly increasing your overall damage potential.
  • Focal Point: This Ascendancy strengthens the effects of your marks (like Sniper’s Mark) by 75%. Additionally, it weakens enemies near the marked target, making them deal less damage to you.

Passive Tree for Tornado Shot Build

In the Tornado Shot Deadeye 3.24 build, the passive tree focuses on Bow Masteries, Mana Reservation Efficiency, Projectile Speed, Spell Suppression, and critical strikes.

Prioritize critical damage or multiplier on Abyss jewels. Consider elemental resistances (fire, cold, lightning) if needed. Look for flat damage, stats, or HP as well.

You can use PoBs’ links for each Passive Tree.

Tornado Shot Gems

Let’s look at the gem setup for three stages of the Path of Exile Deadeye Tornado Shot Build. And don’t forget that the Overgear team can speed up the process of getting the new Gems you need for your build with our PoE Custom Build service.

Gem Setup for Leveling

You start with Caustic Arrow until level 12. Don’t forget to pick up Sniper’s Mark, which will help you deal with big rare mobs and bosses. At level 12, swap to Lightning Arrow. For solo targets, you can pair another Lightning Arrow with Ballista Totem support and swap it at level 28 to Artillery Ballista for solo targets. Also, Vaal Lightning Arrow is a great option to boost solo target DPS.

But you might ask, “It’s a Tornado Shot build, why are we playing with Lightning Arrow?” The simple answer is that it’s more comfortable and deals more damage than Tornado Shot in the beginning. However, no one will stop you from using Tornado Shot after obtaining it at level 28.

If you level up with Lightning Arrow, don’t forget to slot Tornado Shot to increase the gem’s level as you progress with your character.

Tornado Shot Build

  • Trinity: Causes hit monsters to gain bonuses when hit with all three elemental damages (fire, cold, and lightning).
  • Returning Projectiles: Projectiles you shoot will return to you, piercing all targets. This provides a significant boost to clearing speed.
  • Anger: An aura that grants plenty of fire damage.
  • Precision: An aura that grants accuracy and critical strike chance, offering a substantial boost for any Deadeye build.
  • Flame Dash: A movement skill allowing PoE Tornado Shot to swiftly move forward and dodge enemies’ attacks. Optionally, you can switch it to Blink Arrow.
  • Tornado with Cast When Damage Taken: Simply level up this gem.
  • Manaforged Arrows with Frenzy and Blast Rain: Grants free frenzy charges by pressing Manaforged Arrows a few times.
  • Manaforged Arrows with Storm Rain and Power Charge On Critical: Provides free power charges and some single-target damage. Use it during acts to quickly eliminate bosses or rare mobs. Remember to activate it on fat monsters to sustain power charges.

Midgame Gem Setup

Tornado Shot Build

  • Immortal Call with Cast When Damage Taken: Reduces physical damage taken by your character when triggered with a cooldown. A crucial defense mechanism.
  • Grace: An aura that grants a significant amount of evasion rating, providing excellent defense.
  • Wrath: An aura that offers the highest amount of damage. This choice avoids using Anger or Hatred.
  • Blink Arrow: A movement skill that helps you survive in large packs of monsters or evade attacks and projectiles.
  • Frenzy, Manaforged Arrows, Storm Rain, and Power Charge On Critical Strikes: Grants free power and frenzy charges, significantly boosting damage output. It’s essential to maintain maximum charges at all times.
  • Sniper’s Mark, Cast On Critical Strike, Lifetap, Vaal Lightning Arrow, Manaforged Arrows: Our 5-link setup for dealing high damage to single targets. Sniper’s Mark increases damage taken by marked targets from projectiles and grants life and mana flask charges upon hitting a marked enemy. This setup automatically casts when landing critical strikes, underscoring the importance of maintaining at least 60% critical strike chance.
  • Vaal Lightning Arrow: Use this for solo target damage instead of the regular Lightning Arrow. Lifetap provides significant damage but drains some of our life, necessitating life leech.
  • Precision: An aura that grants accuracy and critical strike chance. In the midgame, it’s obtained for free from a unique amulet, and notably, it will be level 30 with no mana reservation, which is highly advantageous.
  • Shade Form: The skill that Tornado Shot PoE will get from exceptional body armor which will make you immune against physical damage for 3 seconds and will provide a kind of invisibility that will cause enemies to attack you with a delay.
  • Tornado Shot: The primary gem, firing a piercing shot that releases projectiles in all directions.
  • Increased Critical Strikes: Increases critical strike chance and damage, enhancing our offensive capabilities.
  • Volatility: Increases the damage variance of the attack skills and the overall damage of the attacks. For example, with the gem, if your damage range is 50-150, it will change to 100-175, which has less minimum damage but more maximum damage.

Endgame Gem Setup

Tornado Shot Build

In the endgame, significant changes are made to the gem setup to optimize performance:

  • Frostblink: Our movement skill, though Blink Arrow is still an alternative option.
  • Sniper’s Mark with Lifetap and Mark on Hit: Changed from critical strike damage on critical strikes because of the lower critical strike chance. Mark on Hit works better in this scenario.
  • Vitality: An aura providing substantial life regeneration, enhancing survival.
  • Dread Banner: Grants the user and nearby allies a chance to impale on attack and decreases nearby enemies’ accuracy. Placing the Banner also provides a Fortify effect to nearby allies. Don’t forget to use it during boss encounters!
  • Arrogance with Precision: Arrogance reserves Precision aura life instead of mana, but with increased aura effect.
  • Blood Rage: Applies a buff dealing physical damage to the player over time, increasing attack speed and life leech. Killing an enemy refreshes the buff duration and may grant a frenzy charge.
  • Grace: An aura boosting evasion rating.
  • Purity of Elements: An aura boosting all elemental resistances, essential when using many unique items to cap resistances.
  • Hatred: An aura adding cold damage to attacks.
  • Petrified Blood: Reserves mana to protect the character’s life in low life situations by spreading immediate life loss from hits over time.
  • Steelskin: A defensive skill providing a short-duration buff that absorbs incoming hits.
  • Power Charge on Critical and Manaforged Arrows: Maintains power charges, enhancing damage output.
  • Tornado Shot: The primary attack, firing piercing shots releasing projectiles in all directions.
  • Awakened Fork Support: Supports projectile skills, causing projectiles to fork into two upon hitting an enemy.
  • Awakened Vicious Projectiles: Enhances damage dealt by projectile attacks.
  • Increased Critical Strikes Support: Boosts critical strike damage and chance.
  • Awakened Elemental Damage with Attacks: Increases elemental damage; at level 5, grants immunity to reflected elemental damage.
  • Inspiration Support: Reduces linked skill mana cost. Upon skill use, grants an Inspiration charge, providing additional elemental damage and critical strike chance. Inspiration charges are lost after spending a certain amount of mana.

Charms

Charm is an item obtainable from Necropolis encounters. Charms act functionally like jewels and must be socketed into a Charm Socket to activate its effects. To use a charm, a player must first choose the “Wildwood Primalist” Wildwood ascendancy class and allocate a Charm Socket ascendancy passive. Here are some examples of good charms for a Tornado Shot build:

  • Occultist’s Corvine Charm of the Inquisitor
  • Pathfinder’s Lupine Charm of the Raider

The Best Tornado Shot Flasks

We are going to use this setup of Flasks:

  • Divine Life Flask
  • Jade Flask
  • Diamond Flask
  • Quicksilver Flask
  • Stibnite Flask

All flasks should be enchanted using a crafting bench with the modifier “Used when Charges Reach Full.” Then, craft one of the following modifiers on each flask using an Orb of Alteration:

Prefixes

  • +(32–35) to maximum charges.
  • (31–35)% chance to gain a flask charge when you deal a critical strike.
  • Gain 3 Charges when you are hit by an enemy.
  • (36–40)% increased duration.
  • 23% reduced duration, 25% increased effect.

Suffixes

  • % increased movement speed during flask effect.
  • % increased evasion during flask effect.
  • % increased critical strike chance during flask effect.

Pantheon and Bandits

The choice of Pantheon plays an important role. Here are the best options:

TypePantheonDescriptionAcquiring
MajorSoul of the Brine KingGrants stun avoidance and potential freeze immunity.Brine King in Act 6
MinorSoul of ShakariReduces chaos damage taken, beneficial for elemental builds like Tornado Shot.Shakari in Act 9

The Bandit Quest poses a dilemma, offering power in exchange for obedience. Choose wisely between aiding Alira or striking down all who oppose you:

  • Alira’s ability provides extra base resistances making her a right pick for defense, especially if you are starting with a low budget or if you are aiming for a high Magic Find build.
  • However, you may also choose to follow the path of the ruthless by slaying all the bandits that you meet in order to gain additional passive points and apply them in any way you want to boost your character’s build. The fact that this option is the best in late game, especially when considering the possible synergies with cluster jewels, is a highly noteworthy point.
