Raid Tier Sets in The Burning Crusade Anniversary

The Burning Crusade Raid Tier Sets

Tier Set items in The Burning Crusade Anniversary Expansion are key to endgame gearing and play a crucial part in determining class playstyle in raids. These items drop from Black Temple and Mount Hyjal Summit in Phase 3, and are essentially the foundation of PvE content at level 70. If you are planning to run raids, you cannot do without Tier 6 items.

A key difference between Classic WoW and The Burning Crusade Anniversary sets is that flexibility is encouraged. Only two or four pieces are required for set bonuses, which leaves more space open for other items. This is extremely important in early raiding situations where combining dungeon items and Tier Sets can be more beneficial than wearing the full set.

Another important aspect is the way in which tier gear drops. Bosses do not now reward classes with their specific armor sets. They reward tokens that several classes can use, and then you turn them in to get pieces of your set. This way, loot drops are much cleaner, and there is less gear going to waste. When you grasp this concept, it makes raid planning much simpler.

If you do not want to invest hours into farming dungeons and reputation to be ready for Black Temple, we are there to assist you. You no longer have to spend hours grinding. We can help you get raid-ready without farming!

TBC Anniversary vs Classic Tier Set Differences

Tier Sets in The Burning Crusade Anniversary are built around flexibility instead of full-set bonuses. Each set now has five pieces, with bonuses at two and four items equipped. This lets you mix tier gear with strong off-set items without losing value.

Loot also works differently. Bosses drop shared tier tokens instead of class-specific armor, which reduces wasted drops and speeds up gearing. Hybrid classes benefit the most, as they get multiple Tier Set versions designed for different roles.

The Burning Crusade How To Get Tier Set Tokens

In TBC Anniversary Phase 3, Tier 6 Set pieces do not drop directly from bosses. Instead, bosses in Hyjal Summit and Black Temple drop Tier 6 tokens that you exchange for your class armor. Once you have the correct token, take it to Tydormu, located outside the entrance to Hyjal Summit, to receive your Tier 6 piece.

Tier 6 tokens are shared between several classes and come in three groups. Each group can only be used by specific classes, so make sure you know which token your class needs before raiding.

  • Forgotten Conqueror — Paladin, Priest, Warlock.
  • Forgotten Vanquisher — Druid, Mage, Rogue.
  • Forgotten Protector — Hunter, Shaman, Warrior.

Each armor slot drops from a specific raid boss.

  • Gloves — Azgalor (Hyjal Summit)
  • Helm — Archimonde (Hyjal Summit)
  • Shoulders — Mother Shahraz (Black Temple)
  • Legs — Illidari Council (Black Temple)
  • Chest — Illidan Stormrage (Black Temple)
  • Bracers — Kalecgos or Grand Warlock Alythess & Lady Sacrolash (Sunwell Plateau)
  • Belt — Brutallus or Grand Warlock Alythess & Lady Sacrolash (Sunwell Plateau)
  • Boots — Felmyst or Grand Warlock Alythess & Lady Sacrolash (Sunwell Plateau)

The Boots, Bracers, and Belt tokens can drop from two different bosses. While Alythess and Sacrolash can drop all three token types, they also have a much larger loot table. In most cases, it is easier to farm these tokens from Kalecgos, Brutallus, and Felmyst, where the loot pool is much smaller.

Getting access to Black Temple normally requires completing the attunement questline. With our Black Temple Attunement service, you can skip the entire chain and unlock access to the raid without doing the quests yourself. This lets you start farming Tier 6 tokens from Black Temple as soon as you’re ready.

The Burning Crusade Tier Set Tokens Vendors

The Burning Crusade Raid Tier Sets

In Phase 3 of The Burning Crusade Anniversary, Tier 6 tokens are not redeemed in Shattrath City. Instead, all Tier 6 tokens are exchanged with Tydormu, who is located just outside the entrance to Hyjal Summit in the Caverns of Time (/way 57.06, 50.03).

📌 Unlike Tier 4 and Tier 5, your Aldor or Scryer allegiance does not matter for Tier 6 gear.

Before turning in your token, make sure you choose the correct version of your Tier 6 set. Classes with multiple specializations, such as Druids, Paladins, Priests, and Shamans, have different set versions, and selecting the wrong one means you will need another token to get the piece you want.
